Under The Armor EP 57

On this weekly episode, Antonio Tavaris Brown Sr. is a professional American football player. He has overcome tremendous odds to play basketball at the highest level. Being raised in Liberty City, Miami, Brown attended Miami Norland High School. He played college football at Central Michigan University. However Antonio Tavaris Brown has been a trending topic due to his tantrum that was displayed so that the entire world could witness an African American Man with a lack of self-control. Furthermore, this highlights a pattern of misconduct by Brown. The Stoic position on what is within our control is one's thoughts, emotions, desires, choices, and actions. To be in control is to self-govern and we do not need police or laws to govern ourselves while they do have the influence. We have the tendency to be obese about things that lie outside of our control. The gym rush is truly in effect went to the gym on Monday and almost snapped due to the number of new people within LA Fitness. Let's talk gym etiquette. Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

UnderTheArmor EP 66

On this weekly episode, I had to come to terms with the fact that I was a very controlling person. This has been a personal struggle over the years. I had to ask myself why I have such a strong desire to control things and why I am so controlling when I am in relationships. Balance means that we can fully engage in what we need or want to do without that guilt or worry. We have to truly understand our own boundaries and needs so that we have the freedom to pursue all the various roles and identities we have or want to have in life. I had my first major surgery seven days before my thirty-fourth birthday. Often, we talk about the physical pain, But the mental duress was very intense. Being injured and working through the recovery process. There are days when I am exhausted, frightened, and frustrated. When I got home, I felt isolated, depressed, angry, fearful, sad, and ashamed. Feeling out of control Come with me as we go UnderTheArmor

On this weekly episode, Reacting is a bit different from responding. reacting is instinctive and, reciprocal I struggled when I was a teenager and young adult, having extreme episodes of anger and rage. As I grew, I began to develop the ability to respond. Responding, while technically a reaction, takes into consideration the desired outcome of the interaction. A reaction is about the moment, whereas a response is about the outcome. “Do or do not; there is no try.” Yoda. We do not try, "trying" allows one to lack investment,  shows a lack of confidence, and allows a person to be devoid of ownership. Lastly, who taught you about money? are you living check to check? Are you going to be able to retire? Are you investing? Who taught you about the psychology of money? Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor

On this weekly episode, natural selection and ‘survival of the fittest,’ does it still play a dominant role? There was a time when only the strongest could survive in the wild. Is the quote still true despite the fact that it has been hindered for years due to our greatest fear of being food for wild animals? Nowadays, with the availability of better healthcare, food, heating, and hygiene the number of ‘hazards’ we experience in our lives has dramatically reduced. With technology leading the way, my biggest pondering is are we adapting to it in such a way that our humanity is becoming an afterthought. According to Yale researchers, 26 percent of American adults admit to not having read even part of a book within the past year.  Reading is a love of mine that has been nurtured since I was a child. During the summer break, my mother would require one book to be read with a written or verbal book report in order to go outside and play. Reading has so many benefits such as: Mental Stimulation, Stress Reduction, Knowledge, Vocabulary Expansion, Memory Improvement and, Tranquility. There is a phrase that is so common; you may have heard it twice last week, ‘Know thyself!’ The phrase has a serious philosophical pedigree: Self-knowledge is important for one’s central reason: because it offers us a route to greater happiness and fulfillment. A lack of self-knowledge leaves you open to mishaps and mistaken ambitions. Armed with the right sort of self-knowledge, we have a greater chance of avoiding errors in our dealings with others and in the formulation of our life choices. Under The Armor EP 56

On this weekly episode, we honor the 1st episode of 2022. As the new year starts, it brings with it a feeling of retrospection. Generally, reflection is a process of exploring and examining ourselves, our perspectives, attributes, experiences, actions, and interactions. It helps us gain insight and see how to move forward. 2021 has passed and as I look back, I am able to stand proud of some of my accomplishments. Naturally, there are also faults and shortcomings that I seek to improve. I'm striving to improve upon 2021, learning from my mistakes while not being hypocritical of my errors. As I reflect, one of my biggest areas for improvement is having empathy for the feelings and emotions of others. I yearn to gain the virtue of acceptance. Being more comfortable with allowing others to have a right to be their own unique, personal view is one of my personal goals this year...Growing to encompass the ability to respectfully observe others as they experience and process their own feelings, thoughts, and opinions. Resisting the urge to change them into the person I want them to be but instead to accept them for who they are. #Westsideonmines is one of my most-used catchphrases... and it means so many things. Do you want to know why? Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 63

On this weekly episode, Does your value align with your goals? Playing sports or being in the Military values are always drilled into your head. However, things are changing so quickly. I have now made it a point to ensure that I keep internally checking with myself. Determining that my values are the driving force of my goals. Keeping these two in unity belief will help me with my daily self-discipline. I wake up at 4:30 am on the weekday, and it is not for the weak. However, I have strong credence that your 1st battle of wills every morning is honoring that alarm and waking up and getting your day started. If change is forced upon you, you must resist the temptation to overreact or feel sorry for yourself.  Robert Greene. How often do you feel that life is unfair? That something happened that you think should not have happened to you? it is ideal to blame others, but I love the practice of absolute accountability. Take responsibility for everything that happens in life. Own it own everything, every decision, every action. We don't control much; however, what we do control is ourselves. Our actions, our thoughts, and we need to focus solely on that.  Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 55

On this weekly episode, There is no coincidence that stability brings success, and success brings stability.  Stability is a person’s mental, physical, and emotional well-being.  Within any given moment, stability or lack has the power to influence every aspect of our actions. It also has a direct and lasting impact on our occupation, relationship and, overall happiness. Taking a step back allows us to get clarity and perspective. Clarity comes through reflection and strategic thought. Personal quarterly evaluation is a great life practice. Taking a step back enables us to think about life, career and, relationship in the broader context of life it allows us to see the forest instead of getting lost in the trees. Honoring and respecting our emotions leads not only to authenticity and balance but to a sense of inner peace. When we allow our emotions the time and space they need to exist. We are able to maintain a harmonious relationship with them, allowing for the opportunity to understand and release them in a healthy manner.  Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 54

On this weekly episode, We all have emotional needs. But what exactly is the definition of an emotional need? Emotional needs are feelings or conditions we need to feel happy, fulfilled, or at peace. Without them, we may feel frustrated, hurt, or dissatisfied. Some examples of emotional needs might include feeling appreciated, feeling accomplished, feeling safe, or feeling part of a community. As humans, we seek emotional nourishment as much as food and water. However, I often wonder if it is indeed a birthright to be emotionally nourished. We are currently 4 days always from Thanksgiving. Turkey, Stuffing, Mac and Cheese, Ham, Deviled Eggs, Gravy, Apple Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, Pumpkin Pie oooo MY! The holiday season is advertised as a festive time of the year filled with parties, celebrations, and social gatherings with family and friends. For many people, it is a time filled with sadness, self-reflection, loneliness, and anxiety. Depression may occur at any time of the year, due in large part to stress and anxiety accompanied with the months of November and December may cause even those who are usually content to experience loneliness and a lack of fulfillment.“A spiritual practice is a constant battle within, replacing previous negative conditioning or habituation with new positive conditioning.” Dalai Lama. If we were to be completely honest with ourselves the foundation of most of our issues in life is the byproduct of our self-destructive behavior. Self-destructive behaviors provide relief or even pleasure in the short term but ultimately get in the way of living a life that feels satisfying and fulfilling. Self-destructive behavior may be intentional or subconscious, impulsive or planned. Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 53

On this weekly episode, The level of success you see in your life has a direct result of your belief system. I’m not talking about religion or philosophy here. Sport, Business, Personal Life self-confidence is vital. We all have talent, skills, training, and tools however these alone will not change one’s life. I believe one of the most vital factors is one’s ability to overcome obstacles. Is one's self-confidence. Self-work is the fundamental foundation for self-confidence. Ben Simmons believes the Philadelphia 76ers’ recent actions are exacerbating his mental health issues, and that the team wants to deem him fit to force him to play, regardless of what he tells the team’s mental health therapist. Does Ben Simmons have the right to want to be paid while he is unfit to fulfill his contractual obligations with the 76ers? Why do sensible and rational people seem to lose the ability to act sensibly and rationally when they are in conflict? What makes us so angry and upset is that we are open to tearing deep relationships apart in various squabbles. Which in hindsight may be determined to be petty or childish. Our self-esteem is one of the strongest motivating factors in conflict and generates powerful emotions. Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 52

On this weekly episode, we look at the contrast between good and bad decisions. In a biblical sense, we must atone for these transgressions. This is why bad decisions have such a great cost in comparison with decisions. The bad or poor decisions often alter our path of life in a profound way in comparison with wise decisions. Life is not linear. It doesn’t always make sense and expecting a logical progression is folly, especially in the world we live in today. We don’t have a set of directions or a secret map that tells us what to do or where to go. Our paths are winding and filled with forks. Sex is an Art. It is a sensual act, with the potential for unlimited and unparalleled creative power. Tapping into your sexual centers can serve as a source of inspiration, motivation, and incomparable energy. I have a strong belief that sex is an Art as much as it is a Skill.  Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.

Under The Armor EP 51

On this weekly episode,“O beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on.” Shakespeare Othello. Jealousy, at its core, is a byproduct of fear, fear of not being good enough, fear of loss. It can trick us into believing our relationship is in immediate danger when it hits, making it impossible to distinguish between natural feelings of protectiveness and irrational suspicion. In other words, it's pretty terrible. Grounding is basically balancing out your body's spiritual and physical energy by connecting yourself with the earth. When you are grounded, you feel like you are here, in the physical, in the present. To be grounded gives your energy a point of steadiness and you will feel clear, centered, strong, and focused. I have a strong belief that one must Own their Mistakes. To me, the type of sovereignty creates a trustworthy and respectable person. I am honored to have the title of King within certain spaces in my life and it is not a title I hold lightly. As a King, I am not perfect no matter how much I may want to be or think to be I am making some mistakes. To make a decision that doesn’t play out in my favor to have a moment of weakness and conduct an act out of selfishness. It is Paramount that I can own my mistakes and handle them with honesty, integrity, and grace. Come with me as we take a look Under The Armor.
