My new podcast 'Under The Skin' asks: what's beneath the surface - of people we admire, of the ideas that define our time, of the history we are told. Speaking with guests from the world of academia, popular culture and the arts, they'll help us to see the ulterior truth behind our constructed reality. And have a laugh.

This week’s guest on Under The Skin is the infamous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson! He’s pretty amazing. He was promoting his book ‘Letters From An Astrophysicist’ but he was more than that…being a focused and dedicated educator. I enjoyed talking to him. The main thrust of it was me going, “yeah, come on, there must be God!”. It was actually my ongoing argument that it’s hard to apply the tools of science to realms that may be beyond sensory experience and how can science claim to be objective as it exist within a capitalist consumer culture that has certain agendas and objectives? We also discussed the way in which science has propelled human understanding and how we interface with the unknowable, what role ancient spiritual texts have played and whether science is controlled by the rich and powerful?I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
This week I spoke with comic, author and film director Richard Ayoade. Richard Ayoade is amazing. I fell sort of gently in love with him. We spoke about fame and navigating the media, the art of comic performance and intention, the difference between greatness and mediocrity and lots and lots more! Richard’s new book Ayoade On Top is out now!
Brené Brown is the author of five #1 New York Times bestseller books, her TED talk has over 40 million views, making it one of the most viewed ever and she has new special on Netflix called “The Call To Courage”. She is an expert researcher in vulnerability, courage and shame. It’s one of my favourite conversations I think I’ve ever had. If it’s spiritual wisdom you want, listen to this episode with Brené Brown. This week’s podcast discusses everything from anxiety, addiction and the effect fame has on the human psyche to post-structuralism and the myth of the goddess. A very open and frank conversation and hopefully one that you can relate to.
Author and spiritual teacher Byron Katie is on the podcast this week. Byron Katie is the creator of “The Work” - a program that teaches you to free yourself from suffering. If you want to learn more about your role in relationships and confrontations, how to understand your negative thought patterns and how to train yourself to think clearly and without pain - give this a listen, Byron Katie is a fantastic teacher. We even do some of The Work during the podcast, where Katie helps me work through a recent resentment.Let us know what you thought of this week’s episode on Twitter (@rustyrockets) or Instagram (@trewrussellbrand).

Can you tell me why I suddenly can't feel pain since I had acid n was somehow told by a god or summit how to manipulate my back into perfect posture n ripped what I can only describe as my nervous system from my spine n freed my brain from pain. I can still feel but I can bend in mad ways n yesterday fell. On a glass table cut myself bad n could not feel a thing. I really don't have a clue why. I've asked and it can be a rare genetic condition

Before russel could unpack the highly contingent realities of society, candace was just uttering uninterpreted statistics and sound bytes. The chatter was very presumptive and didn’t manage to let sound arguments flourish and unfold. It was like listening to a reactionary person with an associates degree at 22 years old try to attempt to construct a well formed political dialogue.
