In this session from our annual women's retreat, Hannah explores what limits us from hearing from God.
I'm interrupting my other series on identity to record the material we talked about at our 2025 women's retreat. Our theme was Hearing the Voice of the God Who Speaks. Many people ask me to record the teaching at the retreat, but I prefer to record it afterwards and make it into podcast episodes.
In this episode, Hannah talks about the truth that God gives us that we are complete and conquerors in Him, rather than believing the lie of being a failure. You can get the book, Identity: Truth vs. Lie, here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Identity-Truth-Simple-Reminders-Christ/dp/1645900754/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2EJECIV0VYGJM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.LD0_M10udawHEHvXfN_BaA.rwrG-HdkI3TINBb4NmTLnlPjYP5d8GIfQgZtkuEkvm8&dib_tag=se&keywords=identity+truth+vs+lie+hannah+morrell&qi...
In my new podcast series, I will be looking at identity messages that we carry, and helping to separate the lies we have believed from God's truth of who we are. I have a book being re-released on this topic if you are interested in reading more about it. You can get it on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Identity-Truth-Simple-Reminders-Christ/dp/1645900754/ref=sr_1_1?crid=348U374XQBP5O&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.19LEpQ9edsQXibrKNuIq2Q.0opjrhm9u7q8h7hVy0GbW8ouIhYfzArEPcLuYmftato&dib_ta...
In this episode, I talk about my namesake Hannah in 1 Samuel 1-2, and how God is the God who hears and cares for us deeply.
In this episode, Hannah talks about Elijah and his crazy life as he walked with God and called people out when they were turning away from God. She discusses the God who perseveres people relentlessly with His love and tenderness, calling them back to Himself over and over again.
In this episode, I talk about Hagar and her name for God--the God who sees. God sees and hears you, even when the rescue maybe is IN the situation rather than OUT OF the situation.
In this episode I talk about Jesus and His temptation in the wilderness in Matthew 4.
In this episode, I talk about Mary starting from Luke 1:26, and going through her life as she chose to cast off shame and live in the impossible that God had brought for her.
I explore the messiness of David's life and how he knew God deeply through it all.
Continuing the series about God so often doing things in ways that seem upside down and backwards to me, I talk about Esther and the messiness of her story. I discuss how God was working behind the scenes, bringing rescue even when it looked hopeless.
The first episode of a new series I'm doing called, "The God of the Upside-Down and Backwards." I am looking at stories in the Bible of the messy people God loves and works in the strangest ways in their lives. We begin with this episode about Joseph.
Completing my teaching on Psalm 23 and Walking with the Shepherd.
Continued teaching on Psalm 23 from our women's retreats this year.
Continued teaching on Psalm 23 from our women's retreats this year.
I recently did teaching on Psalm 23 for two women's retreats, and wanted to record it for those who were unable to attend. Our theme was Walking with the Shepherd, and I will share the teaching over several episodes. Resources referenced in the episode: The Jesus Storybook Bible, by Sally Llloyd-Jones The Normal Christian Life, by Watchman Nee On My Worst Day, by John Lynch
In this episode, I interview Leslie about how she finds hope in struggling with the repercussions of a brain bleed and hemorrhagic stroke.
Amy Lien joins me to talk about how God brings hope even when your life doesn't look like you thought it would, and when you judge your appearance or adequacy as lacking. She reminds us of His shepherding and tender care through it all.
Hannah interviews Sherry Roberts about what God has taught her about finding hope in the middle of difficult circumstances. She encourages us to have expectation that God will be answering our questions and making a way through anything.
Nate Davenport joins Hannah Morrell to talk about his journey through addiction to alcohol, discussing the hope he has found throughout this process. He encourages us in admitting we may not be ok, and seeking out community and the miracle of the love of God that doesn't promote shame or guilt.
