Interesting commentary. A good follow-up to how humans are unique in our abilities to cooperate, both good and bad, is our abilities to "de-cooperate," that is, cause unnecessary illness and death through deliberate inaction and/or wanton disregard for others' well-being: secondhand smoking; idling SUVs outside of schools; anti-masking and anti-vaccination movements related to COVID-19.
As long as we're throwing out hypotheses, let's note similar ailment patterns, including this across the US, UK and Australia--three countries with an outsized reputation for car dependency over active travel (walking and cycling) in and the detrimental effects on physical AND mental health that come with that.
Enjoying these pods. very interesting and well explained. Hadn't realised before that Americans pronounce Antarctica as Anarnica.
I like most of these podcasts but the conclusion at the end by a bunch of 'lay' journalists that it wasn't journalists trying to hype facts they don't understand and it was just "misunderstanding" is just wrong in my opinion and is contradictory of many things they were talking about and trying to prove in the first place...
yeah, please don't say "hey Google" in your story, because when you do, it causes my device to stop playing the story and plays something else. this is basic stuff. get with it.
