Literally Bob Dylan's real name is Robert Zimmerman and he comes from a Jewish family. It is absolutely a Jewish name.

Guerilla war tactics were first used by the Native Americans, whom the American colonists had fought both against, and alongside, during the 7 Years War vs France (aka The French and Indian War). Moreover, they also had fought against them even earlier during the first part of the American Indian Wars starting in the early 1600's, up until 1776. By the time the American Revolution came about, the colonists were well versed in these hit and run, stealth tactics that went against the "civilized" rules of war in Europe. It made a significant impact in our war for independence, as common militiamen did not stand much of a chance using open field, "traditional" European tactics in combat against the well trained British and Hessian troops. We saw its use immediately during the battles of Lexington and Concord.
