Stripped Back- Niall Sludden

“You wouldn’t be in this county set up if you didn’t feel you were good enough to get on or start, you just have to be patient. I knew I was good enough, I have a lot of self belief. When you get the chance you have to grasp it, as there is so much competition.” In this 2nd episode of my special series for Tyrone, myself & Niall discuss all things self belief, resilience and being a veteran. Also the changes to the squad with new management and the craic amongst the team! Again, the status of the player is stripped back to reveal the human & personality underneath. From setbacks in college to triumph in the mundane, this Cahir girl takes nothing for granted and stays true to herself. Passion for football is one thing for Aisling, but passion for family, for career, and for discovering herself and the ways of the world is on her priorities too. Self assurance is key. Series 2 Ep. 5 Roseanna & Saoirse Ruane

How fitting on International Woman’s Day that I get to release this episode with not 1, but 2 amazing ladies, who really show us what strength & bravery entails! I had a chat with Roseanna, an incredible mother and human being, whose daughter Saoirse stole the nation’s heart with her appearance on The Late Late Toy Show in December 2020. Saoirse was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) and underwent a below-knee leg amputation at the tender age of 8, as well as going through the gruelling process of chemotherapy. Today Roseanna & I talk about Saoirse’s journey from the highs to the lowest of lows. I chat to Saoirse also, who was showing off her curly locks that are growing back, and riding her bike again, just as a beautiful child should. This is a humbling story of loss, resilience and hope. I hope you feel enlightened after this episode, and very much count every single one of your blessings. Enjoy life, and always hold on to your inner child! And enjoy this lovely chat.
