I’ve spent over 20 years studying the emotions and experiences that bring meaning and purpose to our lives, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s this: We are hardwired for connection, and connecting requires courage, vulnerability, and conversation. I want this to be a podcast that’s real, unpolished, honest, and reflects both the magic and the messiness of what it means to be human. Episodes will include conversations with the people who are teaching me, challenging me, confusing me, or maybe even ticking me off a little. I'll also have direct conversations with you about what I’m learning from new research, and we'll do some episodes dedicated to answering your questions. We don’t have to do life alone. We were never meant to. Unlocking Us is a Spotify Original from Parcast.

This is Part 2 of our two-part series on daring leadership, where I unpack four more common types of armor that we use to self-protect when we're in fear. These barriers include creating a fitting-in culture versus a belonging culture; fostering a scarcity-based culture versus modeling that we are enough and have enough; leading reactively versus leading strategically; and resisting change versus accepting and embracing change. The greatest barrier to daring leadership is not fear; the greatest barrier is armor, or how we self-protect when we're in fear. This is Part I of a two-part series, where I unpack the most common types of armor, including being a knower versus being a learner, tapping out of hard conversation versus skilling up and leaning in, and using shame and blame to manage others versus using accountability and empathy. Join me for a conversation that includes real examples and actionable strategies about how we can dare to lead. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
It’s a podcasters’ roundtable! In this episode, Tim Ferriss, Dax Shepard, and I talk about everything from preparing for podcasts, parenting, and ping pong, to addiction, trauma, and the long, winding road to healing and wholeness. It’s fun and hard and messy. Everything you’d expect from three people who consider curiosity a way of life. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit

In this episode, we connect on her book I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness, and talk about her online television show, The Next Question. Learn more about your ad choices. Strap yourselves in! In this episode, I talk to my dear friend and sister Cheetah, Glennon – author of the New York Times #1 bestseller, Untamed. This is an honest conversation about walking away from the lifelong training that keeps us small, quiet, and afraid, and embracing our wild, brave hearts. Glennon is the author of two #1 New York times bestsellers – Untamed and Love Warrior. She’s the author of the New York Times bestseller, Carry On, Warrior, an activist, and the founder of Together Rising, an all-women led nonprofit organization that has revolutionized grassroots philanthropy – raising over $25 Million for women, families and children in crisis. If a person is not the right leader for someone, doesn't that mean that there is a a mis fit in the relationship and the employee is still not excepted?

In the context of identity creation or behavior associated with that creation, Jordan Peterson says that identity is not only an individual process but a negotiation between the individual and the human groups people associate with or belong.

I cried at least 7 times. You women have unlocked some powerful secrets of the universe and womanhood. I kept having to hit pause so I could write quotes down. My favorites are "There is no such thing as one way liberation" and "Feelings are for feeling." There were so many stories of wholehearted parenting from both of you that just took my breath away. Thank you for sharing this with the world, and for wearing matching pajamas. I want some!

Hey there just curious, what happened to all of Brene’s podcast episodes? I’m only showing she has 4 when I know that there were a ton a week ago when I checked. I’m new to this podcast so wondering if anyone knows?! Thanks. (:

Please do shorter episodes (I prefer 30 minute episodes). It's difficult to fit in an 1, 1 1/2, 2 hourlong episode into my packed schedule. id rather have you split up conversations into multiple.

L♡VED Gabby's comment about kicking Imposter Syndrome to the curb - that trump didn't have experience/qualifactions either & was "elected" (quotation marks are mine😉)

This is an absolute don't-miss-this one! it's odd but the constant need to learn, know, understand, get more info drove my mother to abuse me, she had no tolerance. I'm making up for lost time, at 48. learning like a mofo!

I absolutely loved this Podcast. I find what you say so valuable. I love it when you say ',I'm here to get it right, not be right'. I really need to work on that. I look forward to your podcasts every week - you are Amazing. :)
