In this weeks episode, I’m dismantling the fear that creeps in when you stop dieting. The fear of eating everything in sight, of losing control, of “letting yourself go.” And I’m showing you exactly why that fear isn’t your fault, it’s a byproduct of a system designed to keep women doubting themselves and stuck in the diet, binge cycle. This is more than a chat about food. This is a reckoning with the rules that have been holding you hostage in your body, your business, and your life.Highlights from this episode...Why dieting feels like safety (but is actually a trap)The real reason you're scared to stop trying to lose weightWhat “off the wagon” actually means and why it’s not failureHow body mistrust leaks into your business, visibility, and leadershipThe myth of “healthy = thin” and why it’s total patriarchal bullsh*tWhy trusting yourself with food is the gateway drug to trusting yourself everywhereIf you are:Tired of bouncing between clean eating and pizza-fuelled guilt Running a business (or career) while secretly still at war with your bodyWondering what comes after the food rules… and if you’ll ever feel normal againReady to lead without needing to be a size smaller firstThen this episode is for you!Because your body isn’t the problem.💥 Join the Unfiltered & Unf*ckwithable Challenge for women who are done with body shame and ready to lead confidently, in the body they have now: Join here(starts on 1st September 2025)Want to go deeper to erase body shame and lead with confidence? What does it really cost you when you avoid the camera? When you stay quiet in meetings? When you put off launching that offer or applying for that promotion because you don’t feel ready to be seen?In this powerful and personal episode, I’m talking about the ways high-achieving, brilliant women in business and corporate erase themselves without even realising it, and how this im pacts your personal relationships too.We unpack:How body image struggles silently sabotage visibility, confidence, and incomeWhy skipping the brand photoshoot or LinkedIn post isn’t a neutral actWhat happens when your boss asks you to be more visible but your shame gets louderWhy your legacy isn’t just about what you build, but whether you allow yourself to be seen building itAnd the heartbreaking truth about the photos you’re not in.Whether you’re the face of your business or being asked to represent your company, this episode will challenge you to stop waiting for a thinner, prettier, younger version of you and start showing up as you are.The patriarchy loves it when women hide in plain sight because it means we don't know our worth or ask for what we deserve. Because hiding costs money, yime and energy and we can reclaim all of it. 💥 Join the Unfiltered & Unf*ckwithable Challenge for women who are done with body shame and ready to lead confidently, in the body they have now: Join here(starts on 1st September 2025)Want to go deeper to erase body shame and lead with confidence? The real reason you keep comparing yourself to other women — and how it’s quietly draining your confidence, your creativity, and your momentum. You might be feeling stuck, invisible, or like everyone else is smashing it while you’re still figuring things out. If thats you, this episode is where we explore what I really want you to know about the comparison spiral you're in:You’re not behind. You’re just on a different page. This episode uncovers:Why comparison shows up even when you logically 'know better'How the patriarchy thrives on women comparing and shrinking themselvesThe sneaky way it steals your voice, visibility, and purposeA story from my own recent event that triggered a vulnerable shame spiral (yes I'm spilling the personal tea on this one)Five powerful reframes and actions to get you back in your laneThis isn’t a fluffy pep talk, it’s a call to come home to your own power, your own voice, and your own brilliance.Because when women stop playing the comparison game, we stop playing small and that changes everything.Come and hang out with me on socials: Find me on Instagram or LinkedInHere's how you can join the Audacity, the privvate space for high acheieving women who are done letting body image, self doubt and the inner critic get in the way of her goals. The women in this space are already smashing it and using my weekly audio drops (no sugar coating her, just fire) and a live training every month to move you closer to your goals and further away from the patriarchal conditioning. Let’s kick off season 2 with a truth most of us were never taught when we were little. You don’t need to shrink your body to grow your business, your career or expand your life.In this episode of the Unshakeable Confidence Podcast, I’m diving into one of the most common (and costly) lies we’ve been sold — that we have to change how we look before we’re allowed to show up, be visible, and have the life we want.If you’ve ever delayed going live, avoided being photographed, or held back from launching something because of how your body looks, this episode is for you. We’ll get into:Why you don’t have to wait for weight loss to be successfulHow the beauty and diet industries profit from your insecurityThe invisible power leak happening when you hide from the camera or the roomWhy your body is not a barrier — it’s the vessel for your empireThe real reason I created The Audacity (and how it's changing everything for the women already inside it)This is not about pretending to love your body every day. It’s about no longer waiting until you look different to take up space, raise your rates, or lead the way you were born to.You can build your empire in the body you have today. And if you don’t, the world misses out.If you want to deepen your confidence, dismantle the beliefs you have about your body and become an unstoppable woman then all you need to do is join the women already inside the Audacity. In this episode, I’m talking to Rae Pears about her incredible work with Girlhood Reclaimed, a community interest company challenging the misogynistic narratives that impact young women, girls and anyone who has been socialised into girlhood. We dig into the reality of growing up in a world shaped by sexism and everyday misogyny shape girls’ lives in ways many adults don’t even realise. Rae shares why creating safe spaces for honest conversations is so important and how listening (really listening) to young people can make all the difference. We also talk about body image, societal pressures, and why it’s time to stop telling girls to ‘just be more confident’ and start tackling the systems that make them doubt themselves in the first place. If you care about making the world safer and more empowering for the next generation, this conversation is one you don’t want to miss.Let’s get into it.Trigger warnings: Discussion about sexual violence, eating disorders, misogyny Chapters:00:00 Introduction to Girlhood Reclaimed09:34 Understanding Misogyny and Its Impact on Young Women12:44 The Role of Social Media in Shaping Experiences15:40 Safety Work and Its Implications for Girls18:43 Creating Spaces for Joy and Resistance21:39 Body Image and Its Long-Lasting Effects27:02 Body Positivity and Liberation29:25 The Control of Dieting and Body Image31:15 Navigating Body Image as Parents32:50 Supporting Children Through Body Image Issues34:17 Creating Open Conversations with Kids36:47 Active Listening and Emotional Space39:00 Challenging Internalised Misogyny41:37 Normalising Conversations About Behaviour44:34 Engaging with Community and SupportAbout Rae Pears and Girlhood Reclaimed:My career started at 18 in youth and community work, where I very quickly began to realise my passion for working alongside women and girls, especially in the field of sexual and domestic violence. After having my three children, I began to move more into this field through voluntary work and eventually becoming a volunteer service coordinator for a women’s mental health helpline. Two years ago I began my MA in Women and Child Abuse, which led me to leave my role in on the Helpline and set up my own community interest company, Girlhood Reclaimed. At Girlhood Reclaimed we aim to disrupt the growing dominance of misogynistic narratives through feminist research, awareness training, and safe spaces for young women, girls and non-binary folk, supporting them to make sense of their experiences and reclaim joy in their girlhood.Links:Instagram: girlhood.reclaimedBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/girlhoodreclaimed.bsky.socialLinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/girlhood-reclaimedWebsite: www.girlhoodreclaimed.comConnect with Tamsin Broster Hey, I'm your host and I hope you love this podcast as much as I do. Women are constantly judged by their appearance especially clothing, yet style is rarely framed as a tool for empowerment. Samantha Harman joins me on the podcast to unpack the societal pressures surrounding what women wear, the mental load of outfit choices, and the double standards when it comes to using style as a business tool.We explore how personal style is the over looked business tool you didn't know you needed. It’s about stepping into your power, owning your worth, and using your wardrobe as a strategic asset to build your authority in business. If you're opening your wardrobe and feeling despair not delight, this episode is a full on mic drop moment for your brain. Episode Breakdown:⏱ 00:00 – Introduction to Style and Body Image⏱ 06:04 – The Psychological Impact of Clothing⏱ 11:59 – The Double Standards in Fashion and Gender⏱ 17:50 – Why Style Starts with Foundational Work⏱ 27:41 – Empowering Women to Own Their Genius⏱ 34:34 – Generational Patterns That Shape Confidence⏱ 40:22 – How Personal Branding Drives SuccessMeet Samantha HarmanSamantha Harman, The Style Editor, helps women in business scale to 6 and multi-6 figures using their wardrobes as a money-making branding tool. As a young woman from a working class background in leadership in an elitist, male-dominated industry, Samantha understood first-hand the disparity between how men and women are judged when it comes to dressing for work. She also dealt with body image hang-ups, once cried in a dressing room as shop assistants laughed and was turned down for jobs at 3 fashion companies because she was plus size. Samantha is on a mission to rid the world of the toxic normalisation of women being sold products based on the weaponisation of their bodies against them. Her book, helping you understand why you have nothing to wear and what to do about it, is published in late 2025. Technology is glorious but sometimes it can be damaging in ways you don't realise. I'm not against AI (unless it's used to rip of other peoples work) but in this episode I want to address the issues I see with AI brand photos.AI has the potential to help us simplify our work and our processes but I'm seeing a worrying trend of people using it as a cheaper way to create professional looking brand photos with the click of a button, not realising it could be damaging their confidence. The perfect photos with zero flaws leads women into the trap of thinking it's going to boost their confidence. I mean who doesn't want stunning pictures without having to book a photographer, do your hair and make up or take time to make all that happen. These apps and software that produce these images often gives a slimmer, smoother, younger looking image which boost confidence temporarily. The problem comes when they have to actually show their face, create video or even work with clients directly without that polished look. When we don't actually look like photo it can feels even more challenging to show up without the levels of perfection these pictures offer. AI brand photos play on insecurities created by the narrow standards of beauty we are expected to live up to. In this episode I'm unpacking the hidden ways it could be dmaging your brand, your confidence and stopping you from showing up. Do you ever have something to share so urgently that you reschedule everything and record a podcast episode on New Years day!Well apparently I do and I make no apology because I think this was a much needed episode. Women running feminist led businesses are being struck by fear of the very things they are trying to dismantle. Patriarchal beauty standards, diet culture and everything we try and help women ignore for themselves, still hold us in a vice like grip and its impacting how we help women but instead of letting that stop you I want you to make peace with it. This episode is a lesson in imperfection, a lesson in being able to not be perfect but to keep going anyway. A reminder that diet culture likely still has a grip on you and that's ok. The narrow standards of beauty are still messing with your confidence and thats ok. By the end of this episode I hope you have the confidence of a mediocre white man and just keep doing your thing and showing up anyway. You don't need to silence your inner critic, you just need to learn how to use what she is trying to tell you to get your closer to your goals. Once you understand her more, learn what she's trying to keep you safe from you can harness it to fuel you in your business and your life. I see this time and time again where women hold themselves back and give in to that little voice in their head that says they are 'too fat' and 'not enough' so they just put things off. I'm not messing about when I say you're already so far behind the men of this world, you don't have time to wait to be perfect. That inner critic voice can become your superpower!Connect with Tamsin:WebsiteInstagramLinkedInFacebook
Ready for the brutal truth this week? I'm seeing way too many brilliant women holding themselves back, leaving money on the table simply because they think they are too fat and hate how they look! In this episode I'm exposing the effect societies expectations on women has on your self confidence and how this is stopping you from getting near your business goals. I want you to take action but you don't need another course or advice from a guru because its actually your self loathing thats stopping you, not lack of knowledge. You can't hate yourself into a thinner body and even if you could do that, you'd still find something to criticise because thats how beauty standards work - it's never enough. So if you are struggling to get more visible, show up on social media, get the speaking gigs etc this episode will shake you out of the self loathing and into action. Key Topics:podcasting, women in business, body image, self-worth, financial independence, visibility, self-acceptance, diet culture, menopause, career advancementConnect with Tamsin:WebsiteInstagramLinkedInFacebook
In this episode I recorded a chat with Emily Spilman for her community and decided to share it here on the podcast as rage is such a common symptom and I dont think its talked about enough. We share our personal experiences and exchange notes on how we have got through it with young kids, partners and work. I open up about how the perimenopause affected my family life and led to a complete collapse of my career. We discuss how to cope if this is what you are experiencing too, the importance of self-care, setting boundaries, and getting support from partners and loved ones. key topics we discuss;Menopause, rage, self-image, self-worth, self-confidence, relationships, career, support, boundaries, self-careConnect with Tamsin:WebsiteInstagramLinkedInFacebook
Jamie Pei, my lovely friend and fabulous work play coach, joins us this week to chat about the importance of undoing the societal expectations and 'shoulds' around work and life. Finding joy and play and ease in amongst the daily grind is essential in perimenopause to avoid burn out and making symptoms worse. We both share our experiences of hustle culture and how this just hasn't brought us fulfilment in our day to day lives. This chat touches on the parallels between diet culture and work culture, and how both are rooted in 'shoulds' and external ideals. All of these things stop us from truly being able to be ourselves because we are drawn in to performing life the way society expects us to. Jamie helps us ditch the expectations and puts a fresh take what it means to sleep our way to the top through rest! About Jamie Pei:With over two decades of experience in the media, fashion, religion and academia, Jamie knows a thing or two about living under the shadow and control of a big, influential institution. She finally made the firm decision to leave all of that behind to start her own coaching business and step into her main-character-energy era!Jamie is now a work/play coach, supporting self-employed folk to curate a worklife that’s full of ease and play, and aligns with WHAT THEY WANT for their lives. A big part of this work includes helping you find your best way to say “fuck it” to the shoulds - in other words, to recognise which ‘shoulds’, expectations and ideals are still keeping you small, so you can shrug them off for good and start living exactly how YOU want.An offer for Podcast listeners:Come hang out with me in a free 45-minute work/play audit, where we’ll deep-dive what’s going on in your work-life and find at least one actionable step you can take to start enjoying more rest and play in your days: https://calendly.com/jamiepei/work-play-auditConnect with Jamie:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamiepei/Instagram: @@heyjamiepeiSubstack: averymessylife.substack.comWebsite: jamiepei.comConnect with Tamsin:WebsiteInstagramLinkedInFacebook
Intuitive eating after years of yo-yo dieting might feel hard to grasp, or maybe you feel it's the unhealthy route to take. In this episode I'm going to explain to you why intuitive eating is a game changer for menopause and why most people don't get it right. Dieting and trying to follow eating plans, no matter how much you feel they are healthy, is often the reason you wind up throwing in the towel and dialling a pizza at 11pm. They are unrealistic and in the long term they just keep you fixated on your body size and weight. Intuitive eating allows you the freedom to relax around food, stop over thinking it and get what you need and move on with your day. In this episode I'm sharing with you the impact restriction is having on your symptoms and why intuitive eating might be the answer if you have exhausted all the diets over the years and you've had enough of tracking every morsel you eat. Ready to start taking intuitive eating seriously? Book a chat with me and lets talk about what might be the right next step Book a chat hereConnect with Tamsin:WebsiteInstagramLinkedInFacebook
