In this episode, I was joined by Keith, aka KO_Ninja, one of the co-founders of the Hyde Park Ninjas. KO has been playing Upland since January 2022, after being introduced to the platform by fellow co-founder Sckicker, whom I chatted with in the last episode of this series. As mentioned previously, this chat is the second discussion in what will be a 3-part series featuring the Hyde Park Ninjas, with the next episode focusing on the wide variety of ways that Sckicker and KO_Ninja are engaged in and around the Upland Metaverse. Today, however, we focused on discussing some aspects of KO’s personal history and interests in Upland, including his insights and opinions on a few of the contemporary Upland happenings and events, which I hope you’ll enjoy. In this episode, I was joined by Jsawyer, one of the co-founders of the upcoming Next World platform being built for the Upland Metaverse. J has been playing Upland since late 2019, becoming an official Uplander in February 2020, and he’s maintained a slow and steady growth of his account since. In this episode, I was joined by Laban, who has been a highly active and engaged member and supporter of the Upland community since joining way back in November 2020. Laban has pretty much been involved in and seen it all as Upland has continued to grow and develop since then, from humble beginnings as an FSA agent in Fresno working with established players (including myself), to having some epic USD flips and striving towards, and succeeding in, getting his account into the green ‘playing with house money’ status, which is a goal for many players (myself included). Laban has gone on to be a huge supporter of many Upland broadcasters and various node projects, including Lone Mountain in San Francisco and his recent move to residential status in Midtown Terrace. In this episode, I was joined by QAPM, who is another member of the Upland Australian community—well, kind of. QAPM has been actively involved in Upland since back in the Fresno days, spending time navigating the platform fairly independently before moving more and more into collaborative community engagement. That has led to him becoming one of the most active and engaged members of the Cosme Velho Node community in the Upland Metaverse, helping to establish and continue to develop the Rio neighbourhood towards the goal of reaching Neighbourhood Collection status. In this episode, I was super thankful to be joined by Detech, who jumped in at the last minute to cover this weekend’s show slot. Detech is someone who probably needs no introduction, having been an extremely successful and widely respected Upland community member for several years now, particularly for his insane skills and attention to detail in 3D User Generated Content creation. Detech has won numerous 3D asset construction competitions over the years.
