The Banshees of Inasheran, all the males were all the same person, he was essentially talking to himself. the cutting off of the fingers represents that he cannot physically nor emotionally hold on anymore.

I love Bill but hate this concept. I would really enjoy these one on one casual conversations but watching two people talking when one or both are getting stoned, drunk or both is such a waste of what could be a great conversation.
