VFTS Bears Week 18

2023-01-1040:18

The Bears have the #1 pick and we could not be more excited for the future of this organization. Did we think we would be the worse team at the end of the year…HELL NO but we're not complaining knowing that we have our Franchise QB! We give our thoughts on what will be the most exciting Bears offseason in most of our lifetimes!
The final regular season games of the NFL season have concluded and we are on to the playoffs. Before we move to playoff games, we take a moment to reflect on the Damar Hamlin injury and impact it had on football and the US. Going back to the field, we review the playoff games coming this week and give our winners for round 1
We are one week away from the conclusion of the NFL season. VFTS is back and we get started with a WTF Moment from Sunday involving former Bear QB #NickFoles. Continuing on the NFL Front…is #TomBrady ever going to retire? It seems like he is drinking what Ricky Bobby is and saying “with advances in modern technology, no reason I can’t play until I’m 105!” Minnesota #Vikings disappointed at lot of folks on Sunday. This can’t be good going into the playoffs right? A lot of games this coming week that have playoff implications! The #Packers are getting in aren’t they?! On the Bears front, the question of the hour is what should the #Bears do with #JustinFields in the final meaningless game of the season?? Check out VFTS on SoundCloud, Apple Podcast and YouTube!
Another week is in the books as the NFL regular season draws closer to an end. We had some exciting finishes with the Vikings and Raiders and we couldn’t wait to discuss the WTF moments of those games. Continuing around the NFL, the top playoff teams seem to be all set but there are some games this week that have impact to those few teams fighting for the last playoff spots. On the Bears front…it’s another rinse and repeat game. Justin Fields looks good, young talent like Gordon and Brisker continue to play well…we are just waiting for the offseason! Here’s to Ls and injury free football!
Justin Fields picked up where he left off at prior to missing a week due to injury. He continues to give fans WOW moments in every game! Unfortunately it did not result in a win for the Bears. Will the Bears get a win the rest of the season? Despite the losses, we are seeing promise for guys like Sandborn on the defense. How many starters do we have on this D that will remain starters next year? All this and more on this week’s show!
Deion Sanders “Coach Prime” has accepted the Head Coaching position at the University of Colorado! Sterling is an alumnus and is for sure excited. D went to the other school, Colorado State University! What does Prime going to CU mean for the program and college football? On the NFL front, we have 5 weeks of football left…sad tears. We review this past weeks games. What does losing Jimmy G do to the 49ers hopes of a SB now? We also look ahead to some of these weeks to games!
Another weekend and another opportunity for the Bears to creep up in draft order. Bears faced the Jets without Justin Fields…should the Bears brass sit Justin again this week?…what about the rest of the year? The Bears are now in the #2 draft slot…we discuss what our hopes are for the off-season retooling in the draft and Free Agency. All this and more on this weeks Bears only show!
We took last week off with the Thanksgiving holiday but are back and at it this week. We start the show with some WTF Moments on the NFL front and the return of DeShaun Watson. Getting to things on the field, we have 6, yes 6 games this weekend with both teams having winning records. We dive into these games and give our outlook as we get a taste of playoff football before the season is over!
The #Bears continue to follow the gameplay that VFTS presented at the beginning of the season…develop #JustinFields but don’t win too many games! Was the lost to the #Lions frustrating…YES it was but fans also need to keep the end goal in mind. The Bears will have a slew of draft picks in this year’s draft along with over $120mil in cap space to spend. This year was never going to be “The Year” for the Bears so stop acting like it! What if I told you before week 11 of his 2nd year, not only are media and the experts quickly and decisively hailing Justin Fields as the clear best QB in his draft class but are also talking about him as being the best running QB in the NFL! Not only do the Bears have their franchise QB but they have a STAR! In addition to the growth of Fields, we are seeing some good things out of other players like SandBOURNE and Cole Kmet! The Bears travel to #Atlanta this week to face the 4-6#Falcons What can we expect to see this week after seeing the defense give up 31 points to the Lions? Tune in to this week’s Bears edition of VFTS podcast.
Another week of #NFL football is in the books but before we dive into Sunday’s football games, we get a laugh from some relationship headlines that were passed around social media. #DeshaunWatson is set to return to the Cleveland #Browns this week for practice…and the NFL is moving on, nothing further to see here. Minnesota got a big win vs the #Bills in #Buffalo Are the #Vikings and Kirk Cousins real contenders? After NFL’s game of the week, at least one of us was looking at the #NFL as being rigged with the horrible officiating in games this weekend. The season is past the midway point and there are some surprising teams that are at the bottom of the standings. Is the season over for some of these teams? We discuss all this, as well as dive into some of the top games in Week 11 of the NFL season! Be sure to subscribe to View From The Stands Podcast on iTunes Podcast, Sound Cloud and YouTube!
The Chicago Bears lost to the Miami #Dolphins on Sunday but for most #Bears fans it was anything but a loss. In fact, Sunday was probably one of the best games in a long time and many fans may even consider it a victory! Ladies and Gentlemen…Justin Fields showed the football world what VFTS has been saying since April 29, 2021: ”The Chicago Bears finally have their franchise QB!” #Fields set an NFL record for a single game rushing yards for a QB with 178 on the ground. Oh and he had 4 total TDs, 3 throwing and one rushing! We share our thoughts on what we witnessed as Bears fans Sunday and what this means for the future. The Bears and this offense has to continue to build and they should be able to do that as the 2-6 Detroit #Lions to Soldier Field on Sunday!
We have reached the halfway point of the #NFL season and with that comes bye weeks for a number of teams and some not so fun games in the 2nd hour of football! Nevertheless, football is here, and we are going to enjoy it before it is over far too soon. The Green Bay #Packers have been the talk amongst the sports world as they continue to struggle. #Rodgers through 3 interceptions and the Packers lost to the Lions!! Yes, the same #Lions that only had one win prior to Sunday’s game. Tom #Brady on the other hand is trying to continue to defer Father Time! In what has to be a WTF Moment, Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis #Colts fired Frank Reich as HC. That isn’t really shocking but #Irsay bringing on former player #JeffSaturday as interim coach is VERY shocking. We touch on these topics and dive into some of the more interesting games coming up in week 10!!
DaBears took an L in #Dallas after the positive performance we saw in #NewEngland but that news is in the rear view mirror after Ryan Poles generated some excitement in Halas Hall. Over the last week, #Poles picked additional draft picks after trading away #RobertQuinn and #RoquanSmith. Poles topped it all off by being a buyer at the trade deadline and acquiring WR #ChaseClaypool from the #Steelers. We review these trades and what they mean for the Bears now and going forward. What does this say about the Bears view of #JustinFields and more!

In the words of the legendary news personality/anchorman Ron Burgundy, "Well, that escalated quickly..." #MNF featured the #Bears traveling to Foxboro, beating the #Patriots, essentially shocking the world (us included) and preventing Bill Belichick and the from surpassing Bears founder George Halas in an unexpectedly entertaining #MondayNightFootball game that just about had it all! We dive into everything from the Patriots QB controversy, The Kick, The Pick(s), the coaching staff doing an awesome job in all three phases....and of course, the player of the game: Justin Fields Search VFTSpodcast on Apple Music, SoundCloud and YouTube!!!
Last week we did not have Bears football during the day games and this week we don’t have the #Bears on Sunday at all…what does that mean? Nothing but good vibes and no disappointment :) On this week’s show we discuss the #49ers trade of Christian McCaffery and what this means for them going forward. On the game front, concerns are definitely mounting for the #Bucs and #Packers but division ineptitude may keep them both in the playoffs yet again. The #NFC East seems to be the cream of the crop when it comes to divisions but who is the cream of the crop in the #NFL From the perspective of D and Sterling, there are two and a possible! This week’s show covers these topics and more and we wrap up week 7 of the NFL season! Make sure to follow #VFTSPodcast on Twitter, iTunes Podcast, YouTube and SoundCloud!
The Chicago Bears suffered a frustrating loss on TNF! There were multiple opportunities for the Bears as a team to take over the game but at each opportunity they seemed to trip over their own feet. We dive in to the unforgettable game that was. Where do we go from here with this offense and are changes needed? How much of the blame falls on Justin? We dive into these thoughts on this weeks Bears recap show!
