We’re back with our weekly record as the gang chats about their training of late. Chris has a coach for the first time having completed a couple of sessions with the Frontrunner group, Simon prepares for John Gilmour 10,000 stringing together a couple of consistent weeks, and it's only 39 days until Vici attempts a sub 20min 5K at the Pan Pacific Masters Games.
In local results we had the Denmark Half with some great social media coverage by the Denmark Running Club, track season officially starts with Strive Program A on Saturday and the Perth Kilt Run down in Armadale. We had a Perth contingent running Berlin Marathon with Riley Hulbert dropping us a voice memo on his race experience.
We talk about the upcoming Perth Running Festival and the lack of hype on what is meant to be our biggest event in the WA running calendar, and Jack Lister-Buttle and Jeremy Ng feature in this week’s weapons of WARP.

In this episode we chat to Pete Carbone, the founder of Reclab and presenting partner for the WA Women’s Track Night. Pete shares the humble beginnings of Reclab which involved helping a mate out - and the concept of making people feel good to becoming Perth’s premium recovery centre.
We chat about recovery, the sense of community that’s been key to Reclab’s success, the story behind Pete running City to Surf in an ice bath and the reason behind supporting the WA Women’s Track Night.

Welcome to Episode 01 of Road to WA Women’s Track Night, the first installment of the series. This series will bring you stories from four women who will be running in the inaugural WA Women’s Track night, hear about their running journeys and how they came to enter this event. Over the course of the series, we’ll also hear from physio and sports nutrition and fueling experts along the way and chat to our awesome presenting partner for the track night Pete from RecLab.
In this episode we meet the first two of our participants Jess and Nikita.
Jess has represented Australia in the Backyard Ultra scene and came second in the Delirious WEST 100 miler in 2022. Life looks a bit different now with Jess recently becoming a mum and the WA Women’s Track Night will be her first race back.
Nikita Fredonnet is an elite surf lifesaver turned runner, taking out the 2023 Transcend 65km and strong performances in UTA. Nikita joins us fresh off the UTMB 100 miler in Chamonix.
We’re also joined by Savannah Rayner, Vici’s partner in crime behind the WA Women’s Track Night as well as WARP’s favourite physio Ella Eastaugh who shares her insights on training load and strength work for women runners.
