We just thought this was going to be easy! In this episode we walk through a step by step guide to sanitize your RV tanks, but things don’t go according to plan and we end up mockdocking a little longer than expected.Check out all the shenanigans!Sanitization Recipe:2 cups bleach5 gallons waterMix the bleach and water together in a bucket. Set RV water pump to draw from outside into the fresh tank (sanitization mode). Add mixture to the RV fresh tank. Then turn RV to fill the fresh tank mode. Then fill the fresh tank with water until full. Turn RV to dry camp mode but bypass the water heater. Turn on all sinks, shower, and washer (as applicable) until you smell bleach. Then turn all water sources off and leave the mixture to set for at least 8 hours. Empty fresh tank by turning on all sinks and shower again. Then flush fresh tank until no bleach smell remains. What started as a normal Monday ended with a head scratching screwup. Ok, maybe a little more than a scratch. 10 staples later The Driver Ryan learned that running into the kingpin hitch can in fact lead to an ER visit and he gained fresh new respect for the word “duck”. Good story so far? Oh, but the plot thickens. Two days later Kara learned she has a new allergy... and it’s pretty deadly one. After four days in the hospital she’s recovering back at our home on wheels, and now has new respect for the word “life”. This all happened while we’re 700 miles away from family and friends. This week we got a good reminder about why it’s important to soak in every moment doing what you love with the ones you love and that’s the real success.
