Matty opened up on the drama behind his record breaking ride, the huge decision to switch allegiance from Australia to Great Britain, how he and Emma met, plus much, much more.

Emma's countdown to the track World Championships is officially ON! Tune in to hear how she's preparing for her first big international event this year. It's fair to say, she's itching to race.
Meanwhile Manon has COMPLETED her toughest ever cycling challenge, riding 300km across Wales in one day (yes, just one day) - but what made her so emotional on this week's episode?!
The girls also reflect on Geraint Thomas' final race at the Tour of Britain and Emma fills Manon in on Chris Hoy's incredible Tour De 4.
We'll be back next week with a very special guest... can you guess who?! Let's just say, it's pretty close to home for Emma.

Manon and Emma welcomed cycling royalty to the pod this week: Orla Chennaoui.
Orla was fresh off a remarkable day on the bike, taking on L'Etape du Tour de France Femmes.
Their chat started with that and then headed into incredibly inspirational territory.
Orla is a star, and it was our pleasure to welcome her to the pod.

Four years ago, Amy Hudson had barely started cycling. Now? Well, she just finished riding the entire men's Tour de France route... including the transfers.
She credits the bike with saving her life and her story is a remarkable, inspiring tale of human endeavour.
Emma and Manon were delighted to welcome Amy to the show - and sat there open mouthed as she told her story! We know you're going to love this.

When Emma Finucane walked into the Watts Occurring Femmes studio yesterday, the team had to bow down at her feet. She's now an MBE!
Manon Lloyd got the inside scoop on what it's like to receive such an honour from Princess Anne. She also told Emma about her own recent brush with cycling royalty - when she interviewed G at the end of the Tour!
The girls also dig into the Tour de France Femmes and Pauline Ferrand Prevot's remarkable victory for France, before taking on a whole load of listener questions. And yes, that's where Emma revealed she once cried while at 1,000 watts. You need to stick around for that.
We'll be back next week with the incredible Amy Hudson, who's just finished a mindblowing cycling challenge of her own.

This week on Watts Occurring Femmes, Manon puts Emma under the spotlight. How do you win Olympic Gold? And how do you even begin to think about backing that up four years later, at your second Olympics?
This is a fascinating chat into Emma's mindset and shows just how she's become a world champion and three-time Olympic medallist at such a young age.

Introducing... Watts Occurring Femmes!
Yes, that's right, Manon Lloyd and Emma Finucane have joined the Watts Occurring family.
They'll be bringing you weekly episodes from inside the world of women's cycling, welcoming guests, eating Welsh cakes, and we'll also be tracking Emma's journey to the LA Olympics.
This could be the best idea Luke and G have ever had.
Luke joined the girls for part one of their first episode, before they delved into the Tour de France Femmes. Enjoy.

Yes, it's another week, another pod, and Tadej Pogacar has won another massive bike race. Solo. Of course he has.
This time it was the European Championships, a week on from winning the Worlds, and you do have to question: this Slovenian lad is pretty good, isn't he? Luke and G certainly think so.
There's also, of course, Luke's updated padel chat, a look ahead to Il Lombardia (yes, Pog is going for his fifth straight win and no, that's not a typo), and we have some ROUVY news.

The toughest World Champs ever?!
The boys break down all the drama from an unforgettable World Championships in Rwanda. Did the chasers blow their tactics? Who were the unsung heroes of the race? And what exactly happens to the European jersey when Pogacar takes that as well?
They also dig into Remco’s mechanical woes, Ben Healy’s brilliant 2025 season, and G gives us some insight into how his running career is shaping up 👀

The cycling world has descended on Rwanda the 2025 World Championships - and it's already been a lot of fun.
We've seen a huge ride from Remco to secure his third straight time trial title, young Welsh star Zoe Backstedt was equally dominant in the women's U23 time trial, and now there's the incredible road races to look forward to.
Who's gonna take the rainbow jersey this year? G and Luke give their thoughts. Basically... can anyone beat Pog?
It's gonna be a lot of fun finding out.

Yes, that's right: Tom Pidcock's done it. In the midst of his varied and incredibly successful career, people had begun to doubt if Tom would ever finish on a Grand Tour podium. Not anymore.
Luke and G were amongst them, but they're delighted to have a slice of humble pie on today's pod. Fair play, Tom.
Of course, Jonas Vingegaard's done the business and won another Grand Tour. How long can he stay at the top? And will second placed Joao Almeida ever win one?
Then of course, there's the all important British Gravel Champs to discuss. Did Swifty win? Well, yes - but which one? Conor or Ben? Listen to find out.
See you next week for some big worlds chat.

Luke's joined by Ben Swift today to reflect on his emotional Tour of Britain alongside G. Swifty was there to see him over the line in Cardiff and made it to the end of 'stage seven' intact as well.
He's not finished racing for the year - and he hopes to carry on into 2026. We wish Swifty well!
Over at the Vuelta, big Pippo Ganna earned our Continental Tyres Chapeau of the Day for his excellent win in the stage 17 TT - and all eyes are on Tom Pidcock this weekend. Can he earn his first Grand Tour podium?
We'll be back next week to debrief it.

The boys catch up fresh off their post-Tour of Britain hangovers and take a look back over an emotional week across the country.
We get a look behind the curtain at how the Welsh took on G’s big celebration. Do they both remember getting home? Do they know the words to Cwm Rhondda? We’ll let you be the judge.
G talks us through his emotions on the final race day of his career, and how fighting back tears is hard enough without having to ride 130km and finish in his hometown.
There’s also some Vuelta chat in there: does the red jersey look less nailed-on for Jonas now?

The boys have made it to Wales. God's country. And they're ready to tackle the infamous Tumble tomorrow.
The final Lloyds Tour of Britain stage on English soil saw the race finish atop Burton Dasset Country Park and saw the first battle of the climbers this race. Young Romain Gregoire took the day and the race lead. Can he keep it on The Tumble?
For G, there was plenty of food-based gifts which he's keeping from Luke, some excellent Welsh Cakes deserving of our Lloyds Upstaged award, andd over in the Vuelta Joao Almeida did more than enough to take our Continental Tyres Chapeau of the Day.
Enjoy the final two stages - and the boys will be back to talk about it on Monday.

We had a British winner at the Lloyds Tour of Britain today - and it angered G! Much to Luke's amusement.
20-year-olds shouldn't have 12 wins in a pro season according to G, but Brennan is putting on a show this year. Can he win the whole race? Luke thinks he might just do exactly that.
Elsewhere, Luke's been causing crashes, G's nearly had his arm ripped off, and we're wrapping him in Watts Occurring cotton wool until Cardiff.
Over in the Vuelta, Juan Ayuso is ignoring absolutely every thing going on around him to win again... but the boys picked someone else for their Continental Tyres Chapeau of the Day.
And in the UK, a young lad wouldn't let G sign his beautiful design... incase he ruined it. That attitude was more than enough to win our Lloyds Upstaged prize.
See you tomorrow!

Lloyds Tour of Britain day two is in the books and it was another big, dominant sprint win for Olav Kooij.
Behind the scenes, G was accusing Luke of attacking INEOS during a puncture while Luke was giving all his tactics away to Visma Lease-a-Bike. Both those stories will make sense when you listen.
Brilliantly as well, the lads are sharing a hotel tonight - so they were able to pod in the same room! That does't happen very often.
There's some brilliant fan stories in Lloyds Upstaged plus a special shout out to our Continental Tyres Chapeau of the Day Tom Pidcock after a hectic day at the Vuelta.

Just when I thought your podcast couldn't get any better you've added the perspective of a Sport Director. The simple act of sitting with staff instead of the riders is not talked about. Many team staffers are retired riders and disappear from the public eye. As a fan of bike racing of 30 years I can say this episode was refreshing and I can't wait for more!
G has created a verb, just "Pogonit"!
I love this podcast. I don't have the $ability to watch the TDF in Canada. Your pod fills in the blanks where the YouTube highlight reels end. It's a true Insiders podcast. Do you guys watch JB2?
Sounds like the new guy knows what he's on about, better than the other two numpties you have to work with. Good luck with the rest of the race. 🤓
Best podcast for explaining to normal people how cycle racing feels to top pros, and how tactics work (or don't). Geraint is very down to earth.
Happy New Year to all the members and subscribers of this GTC podcast. keep up the wonderful work guys and good luck with the new and up coming season on the bike.
Love your podcast.
"Bread of Heaven" is kinda catchy...
just watched the men's road race. So G s comment on Lou Lou wasn't quite right . Great race though and good for Tom too
Love you guys, in a not weird way
omg that road in Harlech , we used to go there camping in Llanbedr every year when I was really young for about 10 years or so back in the 1970's ...my dad loved driving up there and I can say I hated it every time and that was in a car. Would hate to cycle it .
G , you spoke about climbing up out of Caerphilly, I remember seeing you there at ToB . Brilliant. Looking forward to being able to see you out there again.
Fun pod G and Tom! Love hearing Ritchie Porte. Keep it up.
