In this podcast episode, I explain the Step #5 "Build the Bridge to the Open Position With a Cover Letter" of the 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job" I've developed to maximize the success of my coaching clients. Although cover letters have lost some of their importance over the last twenty years, they are usually still expected and an excellent means of bridging the gap between your CV/résumé and the specific positions you are applying for. In this podcast episode, I explain the Step #4 "Discover Where the Right Vacancies Are" of the 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job" I've developed to maximize the success of my coaching clients. To identify a maximum of suitable openings efficiently, you'll need to pick the right channels for it. This task relates to the type of position you're looking for, and the optimal choice is always specific to your search profile and further circumstances. I explain how to do this in this episode. If you haven't watched the pilot episode yet, in which I give an overview of the whole approach, I recommend watching that episode first before coming back to this one: ⯈ https://youtu.be/_BUJGQTpiKQ If you want to learn more about the hidden job market and why the best jobs can normally be found there, watch my special video on the topic: ⯈ https://youtu.be/GyYyV56F4jc There is also a text version of this episode available in the form of a LinkedIn newsletter article: ⯈ https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/discover-right-vacancies-step-4-perfect-job-search-michael-kaiser-dk6rf/ If you are a manager or specialist seeking a great position with a new employer abroad and you don't know yet how to achieve this fast and efficiently, then this podcast is just right for you. In this podcast episode, I explain the Step #3 "Design Your Focused and Convincing CV / Résumé" of the 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job" I've developed to maximize the success of my coaching clients. Your CV / résumé functions as the anchor of your individual job applications. The quality of this document is usually the most important factor in the decision to invite you for a job interview or not. As you are not present in person (yet), your CV / résumé is the only thing that can speak up for you at the early stages. While a good cover letter can also help, it's only your CV / résumé that can sell. Watch this episode to learn how to create a document that can do this. If you haven't watched the pilot episode yet, in which I give an overview of the whole approach, I recommend watching that episode first before coming back to this one: ⯈ https://youtu.be/_BUJGQTpiKQ The email course "How to Write a Power CV / Résumé" I mention in this episode can be found here: ⯈ https://www.bettercareer.net/toolbox-with-further-tips-and-tricks/email-course-how-to-write-a-power-cv There is also a text version of this episode available in the form of a LinkedIn newsletter article: ⯈ https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/design-your-power-cv-r%252525C3%252525A9sum%252525C3%252525A9-step-3-perfect-job-search-michael-kaiser-olqef/ If you are a manager or specialist seeking a great position with a new employer abroad and you don't know yet how to achieve this fast and efficiently, then this podcast is just right for you. In this podcast episode, I explain the Step #2 "Create a List of Relevant Achievements" of the 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job" I've developed to maximize the success of my coaching clients. As I've explained in several of my earlier episodes, the mere mentioning of previous tasks and responsibilities in your CV/résumé is NOT sufficient to convince the hiring managers of your competencies. Unfortunately, most applicants make this mistake. For a truly selling representation of your relevant experiences, you must also always convey the respective achievements and thus show the benefit of your work to your former employers. Watch this episode to learn how to do this. In this podcast episode, I explain the Step #1 "Define the Focus for Your Search" of the 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job" I've developed to maximize the success of my coaching clients. Many job seekers aren't even aware of how important this aspect is and never define a proper focus for their job search. Others fail to define it sufficiently. As a result, countless hours are wasted chasing vacancies which those job seekers have no chance of ever being considered to be suitable candidates for. Watch this episode to do better and start your job search on the right track. The secret of an effective and efficient search for a great new job does not lie in hard work. Nor is a lot of luck needed for it. The successful approach only consists of a few core elements that have to be dealt with in a very specific order. If you pay attention to both aspects, your job search will move in the fast lane. If you ignore them, you may never get the job you want. Over the many years of working as a career coach, I have developed a framework for job seekers consisting of the necessary tasks organized in 7 phases. I call it my 7-Step Method "Fast Lane to the Perfect Job". If you analyze, why some people are much more successful in finding a good new job fast while others seem to struggle with it forever, you will recognize that the highly successful job seekers always followed all the elements of that framework that played a role in their particular situation. Some people can do this intuitively. For everyone else, I've produced this podcast episode. While there may often be a need for an active search for vacancies to get a great new job as soon as possible, letting the great new job find you is much more favorable. Of course, you do not need to limit yourself to pursuing only one of the two approaches, but from my experience, I can tell that many job seekers tend to neglect the latter, unfortunately. While many job seekers acknowledge the importance of professional networking for getting in touch with suitable employers more quickly and for obtaining valuable information for optimizing their application strategies and documents, a significant number of them remain uncertain about the right way to do it. Not seldom does that lack of confidence make them refrain from networking at all, thus losing out on all the benefits they could have profited from. In turn, a wrong approach to networking, usually caused by carelessness rather than wrong conscious decisions, can badly backfire on the job seeker and significantly reduce the chances of getting introduced to the right people and invited for job interviews. Many international job seekers unfortunately limit their search to the use of well-known job portals such as Indeed and plain job listings on social networks for professionals like LinkedIn. Unfortunately, many managers and specialists present their soft skills in their job application documents and in job interviews in the same way they mention their technical skills.
