Description

The real estate industry is often perceived as being very male-dominated. Success is measured by accolades, materialism and popularity. ‘We Are The Table’ wants to shift that narrative and highlight incredible women and their stories - giving them a platform to share their stories and achievements.

We Are The Table is hosted by Sarah Heuvel and proudly sponsored by Swaab - award winning commercial, family, and real estate lawyers.

Sarah is a mum of two young children, a wife, and an award winning lawyer and real estate agent. Sarah acts for some of Australia’s best female agents, as well as strong women in powerful leadership positions who are rarely in the spotlight. ‘We Are The Table’ was created to highlight the amazing women in the real estate industry - women who have been asked throughout their careers “what do you bring to the table?”

As you will see, hear and learn, these women don’t bring anything to the table, because they ARE the table!

Season 2 of We Are The Table kicks off with a bang!! Sarah sits down with the phenomenal Emma Brown Garrett - aka EBG!! Emma is a world class auctioneer. In an industry where there are so few female auctioneers, she is unapologetically herself. EBG details her career and openly shares the hurdles she has faced in this industry - from being told to 'tone herself down' and that she is 'too much' - to achieving great results for her vendor clients, and tapping into the deep empathy and skills that only a woman has to really connect with buyers. A proud mum, advocate for women everywhere, and a mentor to those wanting a career in auctioneering, EBG doesn't bring anything to the table, because she IS the table!!

Episode 10 marks the last episode of Season 1 of We Are The Table and what better way to wrap up the season by featuring none other than Jess Alvial, the Head of Franchise Property Management at McGrath. In this conversation, Jess and Sarah navigate a range of topics, from her experiences in the property management world, becoming an overnight 'reality tv show celebrity', to navigating post-natal depression. Jess is a strong advocate for elevating the standard of property management and giving it the platform it so rightly deserves. Her approach to property management is refreshing and she constantly champions the incredible property managers she works with daily. Jess was a young single mum who had to navigate the cruel world of reality tv following a highly publicised appearing on 'My Kitchen Rules' in 2018. We Are The Table got the inside scoop about what really went down at that time, and how she managed to get through it. Jess doesn’t bring anything to the table, because she IS the table! We'll be taking a little break before we launch season 2 which features more incredible women in the real estate industry.
In this episode of We Are The Table, Sarah is joined by none other than the REB #1 Female Agent in Australia for 2026 – Suzanne Hibberd. Suzanne is the founder of Abode Property, one of the leading real estate agencies in the Sutherland Shire and St George area. Suzanne has consistently been ranked in the top 50 Agents since 2018 and most recently ranked #7 in both NSW and Australia, and the #1 female agent in Australia. Suzanne is a powerhouse, high performing sales agent who juggles more campaigns in a year than some agents do in 5. She is a no-nonsense, straight shooter who tells it exactly how it is. Suz has developed a niche in her core areas, focusing on prestige properties, and working with some of the best developers on beautiful projects in and around the Shire. She has a deep understanding of council zoning and market dynamics, subsequently positioning herself as a go to advisor and not just a real estate agent. With her unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional results for her clients, whilst simultaneously trying to give back to the real estate industry and improve its education standards, Suzanne doesn’t bring anything to the table because she IS the table!
