“It is the method and the practice which will put the greatest pressure on Germany, work the greatest havoc to his wartime industry and the greatest reduction to this air force.”
General Ira Eaker was determined for his USAAF to bomb Germany during the day and specifically industrial targets.

Yet a other great episode, but the Dornier 217 wasn't a seaplane, chaps. That would be a Dornier 24 or 26. Keep it going - best WW2 pod out there !!
I've been listening to these podcasts since they started and they are getting better and better
Really enjoyed the Stilwell episode! How about more CBI shows, especially about Bill Slim?
Hi.... I have just listened to this and I know it is a year old but I would like to comment.... My father was a Dispatch Rider in the Royal Signals. He road across North Africa, Sicily and then the Mud, Rain, Bullets and Bombs in Italy. He saw Friends, Colleagues and Senior Ranks killed and blown up. He felt they weren't given the credit they so richly deserved and I feel too many people don't know about the actions in Italy. I would like to thank both Al and James for highlighting this.
I loved it. Great work. Thanks for telling us the untold stories of the Indian freedom struggle.

there is a blue plaque to Barnes Wallis on a town house on New Cross Road in Saaaarf London - maybe 100 yards from New Cross Gate station
Good to hear the indicators being used 👍🇬🇧😁
could you do a longer episode on 44 squadron? you've mentioned it a few times very lightly, me and my wife are very interested in hearing more.
Fantastic episode !
the adverts are getting longer and cheesyer. starting to put me off
I like the podcast but the conversation a lot of times assumes you know a lot of facts when I would prefer them to talk as if I didn't have much knowledge so it's more accessible
v Very irritated by James's constant wittering interruptions.
should have a link to the slides in the show notes.
Please please please lose the bloody lottery advert..... if I hear that woman say "is this a wind up?" again ,I'm going to peel my own face off !
I thought this episode was going to be about the ANZACs. Apart from some bad impersonations there was nothing.
arrrrgh please get rid of these Disney Plus conversational ads!!!!! theyre killing me
who's the women who is mentioned in 1939 Poland, puling gypsies out for a film line up?
