Ever find yourself saying, "I've tried this before, and it didn't work," and using it as a reason not to try again? You're not alone, but that mindset is keeping you stuck in the same cycle. In this episode, we're unpacking why reflection feels so scary, how to look back at past attempts with curiosity instead of criticism, and why this one question is either your biggest obstacle or your most powerful tool - depending on how you use it. You'll walk away with a simple 4-question framework for turning any past "failure" into your greatest source of information so you can stop starting over and start building on what you already know. If you've ever felt like you're spinning your wheels and wondering why nothing ever sticks, this one's for you.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. Ever tell yourself that feeling guilty after eating "off plan" would help you do better next time? You're not alone, but that strategy is working against you. In this episode, we're unpacking the real difference between guilt and shame, why shame triggers stress (and cravings), and how self-compassion is actually a more powerful driver of change than self-criticism ever could be. You'll walk away with a simple framework for turning "slip-ups" into self-understanding so you can break the all-or-nothing cycle for good. If you've ever spiraled after eating a box of cookies or missing a workout, this one's for you.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. In this episode, we answer one of the most common questions I get: if my goal is fat loss, should I focus on nutrition or exercise? The answer is… both… but for different reasons. And understanding those reasons is the key. We break down why nutrition drives early results, why building muscle is essential for keeping fat off long-term, and how to prioritize your efforts so weight loss feels easier, more sustainable, and less overwhelming from day one.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. In today’s episode, we walk through the real fitness timeline: what actually happens in your body and brain as you start (and stick with) a workout routine. From the early burst of excitement, to soreness and resistance, to the slump most people think means they’re failing, this episode breaks down each phase so you know what to expect. If you’ve ever quit because motivation dipped, results felt slow, or life got messy, this conversation reframes consistency, progress, and identity, showing you how fitness becomes sustainable when you stop chasing perfection and start trusting the process.Get the PDF that goes with today's episode (click here)Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. In today’s episode, we talk about how the pursuit of “healthy eating” can cross a line, and what happens when caring about nutrition turns into fear, rigidity, or obsession. We break down the difference between healthy eating, disordered eating, and eating disorders, why dieting is one of the strongest predictors of long-term harm, and how common these patterns actually are. If you’ve ever wondered whether your relationship with food is supportive or starting to feel stressful, controlling, or all-consuming, this conversation offers clarity, nuance, and a more compassionate way to think about health, without demonizing food, weight goals, or yourself. If you believe you might be struggling with an eating disorder, the most courageous, healthiest, and loving thing you can do is ask for help. In today’s episode, we talk about why exercise feels so hard for so many people and why that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. If you’ve ever assumed that working out should be easy, wondered why you can’t stay consistent, or felt discouraged when results don’t show up right away, this conversation reframes what “hard” actually means. I'll unpack why exercise is challenging by design, how that difficulty is what creates real change, and how to make movement feel more supportive and doable without relying on motivation.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. In today’s episode, we talk about the constant inner dialogue most of us are living with — the comparing, criticizing, and complaining that quietly shapes how we see ourselves and our lives. If you’ve ever felt behind, not good enough, or stuck in the same mental loops no matter how hard you try, this conversation will help you understand where that voice comes from and how to start changing the way you relate to it.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. In today’s episode, we talk about how wellness has become intense, performative, and very all-or-nothing, and why that approach isn’t working. If your healthy habits feel like things you have to force yourself to do rather than things that support you, this conversation might change how you approach your health moving forward.Find Azul on Instagram (@azulcorajoria)Sign up for my newsletter (here) and receive tidbits of coaching every week from me (certified health and fitness coach) that will help you lead a healthier and happier life. Kelly is a somatic coach and educator. He works with clients to help them dialogue with their bodies so that they can immediately use their own sensory information to feel better now and in the future through compassionate self-perception and allowing for movement.
He teaches via a combination of mindful movement practices, aka somatic movement, as well as theory in human anatomy, physiology, evolutionary biology, and Buddhist psychology.
Everything he does can be summed up in this instruction: “Sense your body with compassion, listen openly for the answer, and then follow the subtle expressions that arise with curiosity and trust.”
