Today we are joined by my running partner and boyfriend, Joey Miuccio, as we dive into everything we did to prepare for our half marathon! In this episode, I share how I was able to prepare my body to take on a half marathon as someone who was previously diagnosed with PCOS. This was a huge win for me, since I couldn’t even run a mile without stopping in the beginning. Outside of training, there are so many beneficial components to long distance running that Joey and I share with you today. From our gear and fueling supplements to our pre-stretch and recovery plans, Joey and I discuss all of our best tips and practices with you! I constantly receive so many questions around gut health and prebiotics/probiotics. What does “leaky gut” mean? How do I know if I have bad gut health? Do prebiotics/probiotics actually work? I compiled all of the most common questions and asked the co-founder of Just Thrive Health, Tina Anderson, to help us answer and debunk all of the misconceptions about gut health and prebiotics/probiotics. Tina previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry, until she realized that she wanted to make a positive change in the world. Tina and her husband, Billy, left the world of pharmaceuticals and went on to create one of the best probiotics in the market. In the episode we learn all things about your gut microbiome, how to have a diverse gut, what to look for when selecting a probiotic, how antibiotics affect your gut, and most importantly how to heal your gut microbiome. Akasha Superfoods sells ocean-based superfoods and skincare products that optimize health and vitality. Our main product is sea moss and we are currently sold in over 50 retail stores across the US and expanding. In my free time I love to play tennis, travel, host retreats, spend time with family, and read a good book. Sydney Karmes-Wainer is the founder & CEO of French Squirrel. After experiencing hormone imbalances, she discovered a natural and holistic approach to heal her hormones. Based in Los Angeles, CA, she is a Certified Hormone Specialist, specializing in blood sugar management, and a lover of all things chocolate, peanut butter and dates.FIND ALL PRODUCTS LINKED HERE:Shop Akasha Superfood Products at 20% Off with code WHW20.Prebiotic Skin Mist for Acne Prone Skin - https://www.akashasuperfoods.com/products/prebiotic-mistSea Moss Glow Gummies - https://www.akashasuperfoods.com/products/sea-moss-glow-gummiesSea Moss Gel - https://www.akashasuperfoods.com/products/liposomal-sea-moss-gel-single-serve-packets-30-countShop French Squirrel Products at 20% off with Code WHW20.Bateaux: Peanut Butter Chocolate-Coated Stuffed Dates - https://frenchsquirrel.com/collections/berets/products/peanut-butter-bateaux-au-chocolat-4-bagsBisous: Peanut Butter & Chocolate-Coated Gluten-Free Cereal Clusters - https://frenchsquirrel.com/collections/berets/products/bisous-peanut-butter-chocolate-coated-cereal-clusters-case-of-4LET’S STAY CONNECTEDFollow Wellness Her Way on Instagram for podcast updates!
