So in this episode, Dr. Erin educates us on all things EYE health!  👁️ She opened her own practice, Eye Hub Optometry HTX, in Lower Heights, Houston. She sees a range of ages of clients, from 6 months old and up! Her vision is to be your family eye doctor from the kids to the parents! Her space is the cutest, coziest eye studio, and their family Labrador dog, Jetti, greets you as the patient support specialist! Her team is incredibly helpful and patient, especially if learning to wear contacts. Dr. Erin can perform basic eye exams, medical exams, treat infections, be on call for emergencies, and refer out for surgeries like Lasik!  We talked about solutions for my astigmatism and trends she is seeing in this decade. The biggest being Myopia in more and more children. Dr. Erin said children are spending less time outdoors, looking more at close up screens which is causing myopia, where can see close but far is blurry. Also medications affecting adult’s eye health. Based on her studies, experience, and these trends, Dr. Erin gives tips to protect and reset your eyes, such as take breaks to look far away, eat the rainbow and omegas, and wear blue light blocking glasses or contacts. In this episode, Jazmine Reyes shares her story transitioning from a burned out ICU Travel Nurse to a Holistic Nurse Coach and Consultant. She now specializes in helping clients with preventive care and Functional Medicine to treat the root cause of symptoms. 👩🏻‍⚕️ She founded @RAWHolistics, a special name she chose, which stands for "Remembering Ancestral Wisdom." This name pays homage to her grandmother who lived until 105 !!! (compared to average American who lives until 77) by simply living a soft, slow, intentional lifestyle! Learning from this, Jaz strives to un-complicate health by teaching how to reconnect with the ways of our ancestors. Her motto is, what would our ancestors do!? 👵🏻  In alignment with this, Jaz personally shifted her life from high-paced city life 🏙️ to slow, intentional living in the country 🤠. She shares so many interesting farm stories and even brought us some farm goodies, as she says… 🥐 One she made - sourdough  🥚 One she raised - chicken eggs 🦌 One she hunted - deer sausage  Lastly, on her journey, Jaz highlights how she felt compelled to break generational patterns of alcohol abuse in her family. Now, she serves as Vice President of The Core @core3626, a nonprofit organization that supports women suffering from trauma, sexual abuse, or those at risk, through mentorship, education, employment assistance, and more. 🏠 Connect with us! @Raw.Holistics @WellnessForHou @WellnessForHouPodcast For organic plant-rich meals and gut supporting probiotics, head to Sakara.com and use code ALEXISMSAKARA for 20% off site wide. 🥗 Disclaimer: Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Last year we met Jessi at a Women’s Wellness Dinner and fell in love with the Greens Elixir 🌱 she was sampling! We continued to connect about Arbonne and signed up as clients then consultants to grow a business that is having a positive impact on people’s wellness and families. In this episode, Jessi shares her Arbonne story, how the products helped heal her digestion and IBS, how the business opportunity helped her pay down her school debt, and after a couple years to also step back from her full time job as an Occupational Therapist to spend more time with her daughter at home. Amazing!! 🥰 Through Jessi’s story, we hope to squash the stereotype of network marketing to open up this door of opportunities for more people. 🙌 A little bit more background, Arbonne has been established for over 40 years, is named after a town in Switzerland, follows European guidelines to ban over 2000+ toxic ingredients, and is a Certified B Company valuing people and planet over profits. 🌎 Arbonne wellness and beauty products are not only developed by experts but are also third party tested. Instead of paying for ads to market their products, Arbonne opted for network marketing to allow people who love the products to market and share them to receive compensation for doing so! In essence, network marketing is expanding your network and marketing products you love from a place of service. We chat how this does require mindset growth to overcome judgment at times but that it is so rewarding to be able to work from anywhere, anytime! Cherry on top is the amazing friendships and community you are able to create through expanding your network! 🍒 Lastly, we end highlighting our favorite products including the Energy Fizz, Greens Synergy Elixir, and Essential Meal Protein ~ all which you can get in the Daily Essentials bundle and refer us as your consultants at checkout! We kick off Ep16 sharing how Alexis and Dr. Sebastian met at one of the first WellnessForHou events back in 2021 and the rest is history! Then we dive into Dr. Sebastian’s story growing up in Quito, Ecuador studying medicine to become an MD. Now, he works at Templ Wellness and occasionally other clinics, where he helps our community heal stress/anxiety, aches/pain/tension, hormone imbalances, and more! His focus niche specifically is pediatrics, sports medicine and men’s health.
