Game of Thrones' Season 7 premiere united our favorite characters and brought some lesser-knowns to the spotlight. We got one last chance to hate Walder Frey, one fresh chance to cringe at Ed Sheeran, and we learned to cheer for Euron Greyjoy (and his two good hands). Listen to this quick-take Instacast and prepare for Tuesday Game of Thrones Deep Dive. Also, holy crap, white walker giants. Having already booked their trip with Delos Destinations, Roger & Dick decided to review their trip manifest to meet the delightful and fascinating new friends they will surely encounter on the streets of Westworld. Although Roger is particularly excited to see the sights and spend some time antiquing... he will also undoubtedly enjoy the freedom to become who he’s always wanted to. Free of rules, laws or judgment, and with no impulse too taboo, he should blossom like the beautiful flower he has always been destined to become. “Why can’t the Westworld hosts kill humans? What’s the deal with milk and flies? Is that Soundgarden in the background? Is Dr. Ford a robot? What the hell is going on in the Westworld series debut? You’ve got Westworld questions, and we’ve got Westworld answers. Hosts Roger Roper and Dick Ebert saddle up with their new sidekick, Gene Lyons, to explore the vast Westworld frontiers in search of justice and the ultimate truth behind Delos Destinations’ corporate motives. Westworld! Where the saloon girls are all 10’s and the rye whiskey is best served warm. For $40,000 a day, we can all immerse ourselves in the lawlessness of the Old West. Westworld asks, how each of us would indulge our otherwise unspeakable appetites for senseless violence and transgressive sex, without moral scruple or legal consequence. The series is remarkably stark in its depiction of the cruelty underlying these appetites. All but vanished are the “shoot-out with a bandito” type scenarios of the campy 1973 movie. Instead, tourist’s regales in watching their artificial victims wriggle in the throes of death, only to want a souvenir photograph to take home. “Now, that’s what I call a vacation!” Leave Us A Review Subscribe: Apple | Android | RSS | Website Join Discussion: Email | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube Podcatchers:  Soundcloud | Feedburner | Googleplay | Stitcher | Tunein | Spreaker | Podbay | Pocketcasts Theme Song: The Ecstasy Of Gold (Hip Hop Instrumental Version) by Dj 2 Bad Tags: Westworld, Westworld TV Series, Westworld Theories, Westworld Spoilers, Westworld Series, Westworld Review, Westworld Recap, Westworld Questions, Westworld podcast, Westworld 2016, TV Series, TV Podcast, Shat The Movies, Shat On TV, Science fiction, Michael Crichton, HBO Westworld, HBO Series, HBO Podcast, Game of Thrones
When HBO releases a Westworld episode early, so do we. Discover the significance behind how guests enter Westworld and how hosts prove their worth. This special instacast is shorter than our usual episodes, and it explores the video-game nature of Westworld, how the virus spreads and what the Man in Black is really up to. Also, if you were trying to place the saloon music this time, it was Radiohead. No surprises there. Time-shifting, barrel-swapping, nightmare-hacking and clumsy orgies top this week's list of crackpot theories as Roger Roper, Dick Ebert and Gene Lyons plunge elbow-deep into this MRSA slit of mystery. Westworld Episode 2: Chestnut brought fans more details on how guests arrive at the park, whether hosts dream, who's banging whom and what it takes to get a knife in the hand. As the Man in Black continue his quests, fans begin narrowing their sites on his true identity. And as Maeve starts losing control, we get a dark look into what's happening behind the scenes at Westworld. Holy robot inception, Batman! There was so much happening in this week's episode of Westworld, we wish HBO would have released it earlier in the week. The Rog & Big D debate their initial thoughts on Episode 3, entitled "Stray", in this week's Shat on TV: Westworld Instacast. Note: Gene is still on vacation visiting Gothworld, but will return for the big podcast on Tuesday. A spot of horror, a significant slice of backstory (hey, Arnold!) and a few choice Alice in Wonderland references helped make the third episode of HBO's Westworld the most satisfying yet. We’re three episodes in and the storylines of Westworld are denser than the layers of rock Mesa Hub is built into. Rog and Big D attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding Dr. Ford's relationship with his old partner, Arnold, while avoiding falling into never-ending theory rabbit holes. Gene didn't make it back from Los Angeles in time for the cast but will rejoin the Shat On TV posse for a new segment called the #WestworldTelegraph later this week. If Westworld episode 4 left a bad taste in your mouth, you're not alone. A lot happened, and not all of it makes sense. Before you re-watch "Dissonance Theory" in hopes of granting it a pardon, hear what we'll be researching for Tuesday's full podcast. Among those topics: Bernard's sexy time, Dr. Ford being a mega-dick, Armistice's dark background, Logan's real mission and the Man In Black's white-hat manifesto. The Man in Black is good, Dr. Ford is evil, and the rest of Westworld is flipped on its head as Episode 4, “Dissonance Theory,” reveals elements of religion, power struggles and … meat eating horses? Be the smartest Westworld fan at the water cooler with crackpot theories about Dolores and Bernard not really meeting in person, Dr. Ford raising a robot army and the new Delos representative being part of Hector’s gang. As a bonus, Gene gives an impassioned rant about how sexy safe-straddling is, and Dick concurs with tales of horny Brazilians. It's that time of the week where the "Hosts": Rog, Gene, & Big D wrap themselves in their Nasa-supplied tin foil emergency heat blankets, fire up the antique Westworld Telegraph and answer listener theories about Westworld. Our inbox was filled to the brim with speculation concerning the true meaning of the maze, positive proof of multiple timelines, comparisons to dystopian literature, God complexes, and.....Zombies??? The trio also learns about the Native American story of the I'itoi, receives praise for the new weekly format, and discover Gene has a new admirer. Was Westworld Episode 5 a disaster or an electrifying thriller? Depends on who you ask. Big reveals about Arnold, the Man In Black and the nature of Pariah kept us on our toes, but predictable character development and clunky science left fans shaking their heads in disappointment. Gene hated it. Roger loved it, and Dick was somewhere in the middle. Have a listen and let us know what you think before the full-length Westworld podcast is released Tuesday. #DongWatch2016.  Leave Us A Review Subscribe: Apple | Android | RSS | Website Join Discussion: Email | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube Podcatchers:  Soundcloud | Feedburner | Googleplay | Stitcher | Tunein | Spreaker | Podbay | Pocketcasts Theme Song: The Ecstasy Of Gold (Hip Hop Instrumental Version) by Dj 2 Bad Tags: Westworld, Westworld TV Series, Westworld Theories, Westworld Spoilers, Westworld Series, Westworld Review, Westworld Recap, Westworld Questions, Westworld podcast, Westworld 2016, TV Series, TV Podcast, Shat The Movies, Shat On TV, Science fiction, Michael Crichton, HBO Westworld, HBO Series, HBO Podcast, Game of Thrones
Contrapasso is proportionate punishment for sins, and Westworld Episode 5 hinted at all the ways our favorite characters are about to pay for their transgressions. From Maeve's growing abilities to Dr. Ford's growing hubris to El Lazo's growing rebellion in Pariah, Westworld is heating up to an explosive boil. Up for debate and discussion in this week's podcast: Are Dolores' hallucinations just new narratives being uploaded into her mind? Who is behind the Woodcutter's satellite uplink? Is Arnold a real person who created Dr. Ford, or the other way around? And is the maze just a call to arms for hosts ready to fight back? Like a corpse full of nitroglycerin, Westworld is about to blow up. Let's share a toast and watch the fireworks. There's one thing you can never question: Shat On TV's commitment to their listeners. This week's deluge of email nearly broke the system and Gene's sanity. However, the trio power through the endless 'maze' of theories, feedback, and analysis to deliver a one-time only, MEGA-SIZED episode of the Westworld Telegraph. Forget the tin foil hats, you'll need to wrap yourself up as a tin foil burrito in order to get through this entire episode. Leading up to Episode 6, there were some who were afraid the train to Westworld was in danger of derailing off into an endless loop of plot questions. Fortunately, the conductors seem to have adjusted the tracks and "The Adversary" was one of the strongest episodes thus far. With their partner Gene unable to join due to a delayed flight home, Rog & Big D effuse their praise and discuss which fan theories have been debunked...on this week's Shat On TV: Westworld Instacast. I 100% agree that the way they insist on saying Serac incorrectly from the cast & creators is one of the most annoying things I've heard in any podcast I frequent. Just stop it already! lol
