What I Learned From (WILF)

Hey everyone, this podcast is going to take you on my journey about everything that I’ve learned. We’ll discuss book summaries and overall life things that I learned.

28: WILF Reading Love Yourself First by Marc Reklau Part 1

We’ll cover building your confidence and self esteem as well as taking full responsibility for your life and actions. Once we can see some growth, we’ll capture that belief in ourselves that we can do something.

27: WILF Reading Attitudes of Gratitude by MJ Ryan

We’ll cover how you can overcome your negative emotions through gratitude. If we’re going through the worst of times, we can at least acknowledge that it’s a one in billion chance of even surviving to becoming a human being. We can count our blessings with having a shelter, food, and all of our limbs intact. We can be grateful for the blue sky, or the green earth. Our positive emotions can help alleviate our negative ones.

26: WILF Having My Daily Routine Fall Apart and Still Finishing What I Need To Get Done

In this episode we’re going to talk about how I wasn’t able to do everything that I originally scheduled in my plans for. Work was busy, so I wasn’t able to take a lunch break to record this podcast and after work I had to babysit my nephews (which I wasn’t planning for). It’s 10:30pm at night and it would’ve been easy to sleep or not record the podcast, but I think it’s a great mindset to have to know that whatever happens in your life, you’re still going to accomplish what you need to finish.

25: WILF Reading On The Shortness of Life by Lucius Annaeus Seneca

As Seneca says, “It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it.” I’m still to this day wasting a ton of time on social media, watching TV, and doing random mindlessness things that don’t contribute towards the future that I’m looking to build. I think this is a great reminder that you DO have time, you just have to figure out what you WANT to do with it wisely.

24: WILF Quitting and Giving Up On Everything

We’ll discuss what I learned from giving up on everything even up until this day. What I’m working on to fix it, and how if you get to live another day then there’s another chance for you to keep going.

23: WILF When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron Part 2

In this episode we’re going to discuss the second half of the book When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron Part 2

In this episode we’re going to discuss the first half of the book When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron.

21: WILF Losing, Failing, and Being Rejected

We’re going to discuss my past failures and what I learned from it. I think it’s healthy to fail and lose because you learn something from it. When you fail enough times, you eventually become numb to it and get used to it so that you’re no afraid of failing anymore. To fail in the first place, you need to push yourself outside your comfort zone, and when you do this, you find yourself and get better results in life.

20: WILF Creating My First Podcast

In this episode we’ll dive into what I learned from making this podcast. It was weird at first speaking to a microphone AKA my phone, but you get used to it. There’s also a ton of lessons I got from this including learning my flaws in my speech and delivery when I give my content. THANKS for the support and I hope you’re able to get something out of this.

19: WILF Working Every Day for 30 Days

In this episode we’ll cover what I learned from working everyday for 30 days straight (so far). Initially it’s not a great idea to work everyday. There’s a ton of pitfalls including burnout that can happen, but what I found out is that I’m more productive and value my time much better now. Once extra time was taken away from my, I was able to see how much time I was actually wasting and now turning that time into doing something productive.

18: WILF Practicing Confidence

In this episode we’ll discuss what I learned from practicing confidence. I believe this can be taught and learned by constantly taking action towards things you’re AFRAID of. When you consistently do things that make you uncomfortable, it eventually becomes normal to you and you realize that it’s not as bad as you think it is.

17: WILF The One Thing by Gary Keller

In this episode we’ll discuss The One Thing by Gary Keller. He talks about figuring out what you want, and picking only ONE thing to focus on to grow. When we multi-task and we spread our focus to too many different things, we don’t get extraordinary results in any ONE thing, and chances are we fail at them ALL.

06-19
23:30

16: WILF The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Heidt

We’ll cover how to become happier in this episode. The big takeaways include journaling, meditation, being grateful, being appreciative, building a community, make and remind yourself of goals, be charitable, and loving more. Happiness can be something we can train our brains to become more of.

15: WILF The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson

We’ll cover what Mark means by not giving a F*ck and dive into figuring out what you truly want in life. When you figure that out and work towards achieving your goals, you will care less about what others think about you. All your actions will bring you closer to your dreams and you won’t care as much about what others think of you.

14: WILF Hooked By Nir Eyal

In this episode we discuss what I learned from (WILF) reading Hooked by Nir Eyal. He discusses how psychologist are working with companies to hook consumers into their products. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter are all designed to give us hits of instant dopamine and happy rewards to get us to go back to their products. We’ll cover how to get unhooked and ways these companies get you to buy into their products.

13: WILF The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

In this episode we’re going to cover what I learned from reading The Power of Habit. I think a great place to start is identifying which habits you want to change first, and then coming up with a game plan on fixing said habit. Good ways to fix it include accountability partners and writing them down so that you can see it everyday to remind you to change.

12: WILF Being Grateful

In this episode, I wanted to say THANKS to my two listeners and show my appreciation. We also discuss being patient and working towards your goals. Whether you’re in a good situation or not, we always have things to be thankful for. NEVER forget all the small GOOD things you already have.

06-10
06:08

11: WILF Cryptocurrencies

In this episode we’re going to discuss what I learned from Crypto. Don’t listen to my advice and do your own research, but I think we will eventually adopt this new currency into our lifestyles. With the way technology is going, there has to be a better way to avoid fees, and cut out the middle man with banks.

06-08
05:56

10: WILF Elon Musk

In this episode, we’re going to be discussing what I learned from Elon Musk. He’s heading multiple companies including Tesla and SpaceX and his work ethic is ridiculous. He has a vision of changing the world for the better, and it’s slowly coming along.

06-06
09:42

9: WILF Meditation

In this episode, we’re going to dive into what I learned from meditation. Many times we get angry and stressed and taking deep breaths and meditation can help clear your mind. It’s also a great way to mind dump and clear your thoughts.
