Description

I’m your host Wendy Jones, Founder of Be Better Media, mom of four, storyteller, and lifelong athlete passionate about human connection. I believe that the greatest gift we can give to the next generation is our own self-awareness. The goal of this podcast is to connect us through the visions, stories, and life lessons of people rising in sports, business & life and uncover the optimism that is sometimes front and center, and other times under the surface. Throughout my journey, I have experienced many ‘What I Meant to Say’ moments, but since life doesn’t give us do-overs, I’ve created a space to reflect and tell our stories again, with a little more grace for ourselves and the hope that we can help others, and all get a little better for having listened.

In His wisdom, He placed us in a variety of circumstances that require us to find our way back to His pure love. So, what qualifies me to speak about love? My childhood experience of the opposite of love. From that austere beginning, and the distaste it formed inside me, I searched for and eventually created a method that transformed my life from anger to loving everyone. Growing up in a family of abuse, physical touch became my preferred love style, only because of the regularity. I could almost count on it. It was consistent. I came to think that was the way to express love. But deep inside, I knew that was a twisted belief. I wanted a better life for myself, which is why I created a paradigm shift that works. In this book, you’ll find what helped me move from a childhood boot camp of abuse to being a person who loves everyone and can find good about anyone in any circumstance. This is truly the role of love. I hope you join me.Show Notes 0:00 - Welcoming Paul Zolman to What I Meant to Say0:19 - Becoming a Love Language Linguist from An Angry Household9:35 - How to Play Paul’s Love Language Game16:26 - What Have You Learned from First to Second Marriage?19:59 - Practical Ways You Relate to Your Kids & Grandkids23:44 - Are There Ways to Protect Yourself from Being Taken Advantage Of?27:46 - Best Ways to Have a Generational Healing Conversation with Kids33:48 - The Purpose of the Love Language Game40:06 - Advice for Men to Be Love in the World42:43 - One Piece of Advice to Your Younger Self46:27 - Where Can People Find You?47:14 - Thank You & ClosingLinks & Where to Find Paul www.roleoflove.comYoutubeFB - https://www.facebook.com/roleoflovediceIG - https://www.instagram.com/roleoflovedice/Linkedin - https://www.linkedin.com/company/roleoflovedice/Tiktok - https://www.tiktok.com/@roleoflovediceTwitter/X - https://twitter.com/roleoflovedicePinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/roleoflovedice/The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts
