Statistically, a Jew in Canada is now 9 times more likely to be a victim of a hate crime than a Jew in the United States. How did this happen in a country known for politeness, diversity, and social democracy? Is this even a real phenomenon, or is anti-zionism being misclassified as antisemitism?
Journalist and Publisher Jesse Brown is diving deep into the subject, travelling across Canada and speaking with Jews, anti-zionist activists, and high-profile public figures, all of whom have seen their lives change since October 7th, 2023.
What Is Happening Here is available now — right here on Canadaland Investigates. Our critically-acclaimed and award-winning limited series, all in one place.

I think Douglas Murray said it best: if I attend an event the first time and see a KKK hood I might think "that's odd" but if I attend again and see more KKK hoods I should know it's a Klan event.
Found it odd some interviews on recent episodes of Canada Land have been easing off on condemning trucker convoy protesters (a movement where Nazi’s were present at rallies). In episode 4 of What is Happening Here the same host says we should condemn anti-Israel protests in part because Nazi’s were present. While it’s horrific that evil minorities are infesting protest movements I think there’s hypocrisy in condemning one group over the other for that issue.
the cognitive dissonance is mindboggling
Okay, I'm really digging the music on this. Nice work Nathan Burley!
May not be a popular opinion, but it doesn't sound to me that the LLC is doing anything wrong.
so my aunt took a dna test. she's half Mexican Indian. so do I claim I'm Indian
his absolute audacity!!! j'en reviens pas
That was a frustrating and infuriating interview done very well. His pivot to health issues when the questions got tough... smh
What's up with Lichisdik laughing at every damn thing? Does he think this shit is funny? Damn he's pathetic!
This poor town needs new life blown into it.
Very good podcast
Way too much content that's catered to wannabe journalists and writers in the GTA.
More podcast series like Thunder Bay and Dynasties please. Less podcast series that are aimed for Toronto journalists. We get way too much Canadaland produced content that is about the media business.
such an amazing podcast! I don't know how it took me so long to find it, maybe cuz we really don't talk about indigenous people's issues enough!
Ive lived between B.C. and the yukon in small towns for all of my life. Sadly these stories are all too common. In whitehorse, where i grew up, there are so many parralells to thunder bay it blows me away... If the creator of this podcast reads this, thank you for taking the time to tell these stories... too many just like them are never told. And the monsters continue to walk in plain sight.
the best podcast out there!
brilliant narration.
More purveyors of the climate scam. I love in Ontario and I want more pipelines. All the solutions to the hysteria are cheap, easy and simple to implement.
it has another dead indigenous 17 year old found dead.
