We geek out... ALOT... there are a lot of Easter eggs in this movie (is that why it came out on Easter weekend??). If you ever played a mario video game ever... this movie is for you! The people who made this movie obviously grew up playing the game.
What happens when you hire the directors of an 80s dystopia TV show to direct the first ever live action movie based off of a video game?! You get dinosaurs! Fungi! Humans hatching out of eggs... and 2 plumbers from BROOKLYN who fall into a parallel universe ruled by Dennis Hopper with spikey "corn rows" and a lizard tongue in order to save the princess. If you can't find a place to watch this movie (it is nearly impossible! as if Nintendo paid the internet to make sure this movie never sees the light), we spoil everything!
