Description

Have you ever wondered what life could be like if you stepped into everything God has planned for you? What if the only thing required for that to start is to get up and dance? Yes, dance. As if your life depends on it. Because, it kind of does. And when I say get up, I mean Arise. I believe God calls us to Arise, to get up and be stirred. So let's arise to the occasion that God has called us to as the best possible version of ourselves today, so that we can truly be a light to those around us. Wake. Dance. Praise. Because amazing things happen When We Arise.

There are so many benefits to participating in a marriage retreat, or even a personal solo retreat. But today we are talking specifically about marriage, and drawing from a recent experience I embarked on with my husband. I'm also not shy about sharing that this was a long time coming for us, and I encourage wives specifically to continue to pray and hope for breakthrough in your marriage, retreat or not. And stay tuned for "Part 2" when my husband Tyler FINALLY joins the conversation! And don't forget your dance party beats here.

Where are my fellow forward thinkers? Can I get an amen? Yes! Future-casting is my jam, and I can hang out in future-land all day, BUT I've learned that looking back is actually the secret weapon for making sure I'm headed in the right direction. Today I am sharing three powerful questions I use in reflection. These questions help me stay grounded and gather valuable intel from my past to propel me into the future with so much more intention. I hope they serve you in your goal setting what's next in 2024 and beyond! I also share a recap on the recent live Arise event! When We Arise Playlist on Spotify
Are you preparing to set some big goals for 2024? Well, aren't we all?! In all seriousness most new year's resolutions don't make it to February. One big reason why is because we fail to see the small, daily habits that are required to get us to real change. Few things in life happen instantly or "cold turkey". What is more true is the saying "consistency compounds." What small daily rhythms are you putting into place that will help you not only get to where you want to go, but allow you to truly enjoy the journey. Isn't that really the goal? I believe God made you for more, but you have a part to play in getting after your BIG. Let's do the little things like their a big deal, and watch God do the big things in us and through us like they ain't no thang. Don't forget your victory dance, friend. You're on your way to big things! When We Arise Playlist on Spotify

So many thoughts were spurred in my conversation with Lisa, and I hope you'll stay tuned for that conversation. But today, I am priming all of us to start looking for the joy in our own lives, and recognizing the difference between joy that is rooted as a piece of who we are, and a fleeting feeling. Do you know what lights you up? Is it so clear that you radiate immediately when you think about it? Or are you really confused by these questions? If you're confused, please listen in. I share about how others have spoken into my life over and over again, and helped me refine my shine. That is, the thing that lights me up the most, and allows me to live closest to my true calling. When we discover that light and our own unique ability to shine into the lives of others, we are living out Isaiah 60:1! "Arise, let your light shine for others to see for the spirit of the Lord has risen to shine up on you." That's exciting! Ever wanted a quick fix? No, probably not, right. Not you. You're totally a tortoise in the race. Just content with keeping your head down and eyes fixed ahead, without a care in the world about who might be passing you. Well, if that's really true for you, amazing!! You can skip this episode. But if you're like me on the other hand, and tend to struggle with being in a hurry for everything, then you might want to listen in. I share a few anecdotes on slowing down, and how that has proved to move the needle in life faster than it would of if I'd forced a path that wasn't set for me. I also reference Episode 6 on writing down your dreams. If you haven't listened to that one yet, and you're into goal planning and dream journaling, take a listen! Today's episode is a continuation from the thoughts shared in episode 18 on habits and Holy Rhythms. www.whenwearise.com
Are you trying to be healthy? You want eat less junk right? Sleep more? Walk in nature? Spend more time in silence/prayer? Well, all of that is good, and good for us! But, what about this idea of creating not just a healthy habit, but a holy rhythm? See a rhythm has a flow to it, an end that is less defined. It just flows from one thing to the next. Less like a check mark, and more like a sound wave. By adding reverence with a focus on the Lord to any healthy habit, we can create a holy rhythm. Because becoming more like Jesus ain't an easy feat. At least not for me! So, what healthy habits have you established already that could be tweaked and infused with some time with the Lord? I bet if you take a few minutes right now, and ask the Holy Spirit for a little help, he'll have plenty of ideas for you! I'm excited to hear how you infuse your life with holy rhythms! Okay, I had so much fun recounting this moment. While this is a beautiful story about God's goodness and kindness, I'm also careful about how I share it. It's not every day we hear the voice of God! In this episode I recount a very intimate and amazing moment I experienced before the birth of my daughter, who's about to turn 1! If you enjoy a good birth story, you're in for a treat. Also, I hope this encourages you to run to God with your deepest yearnings. Nothing is too small, too selfish, too needy for Him. I truly believe He wants us to come to Him and ASK BOLDLY with confidence at His feet. www.whenwearise.com New Music Every Week on the When We Arise Playlist On Spotify
