Steel Panther rarities and collectables: https://ebay.us/8TerXN This interview with Michael Starr and Lexxi Foxx took place backstage at the House Of Blues in Hollywood on January 16, 2012. It was the day before my birthday. I’d first seen Steel Panther as Metal Skool across the road at the Roxy in 2003. Of course the House of Blues is now gone and Lexxi has left the band too. I had followed Steel Panther around on tour in England the year before - with Def Leppard and Motley Crue - and written about them in the Australian media. Because the band was heading to Australia later in the year, I was welcomed backstage but I got on their nerves a little. I had lined up friend to act as camera person but she didn’t show up, so we had a lot of technical problems finding a place to shoot the video. We started in the bathroom. Then on a couch. The camera mini-tripod kept collapsing. And I sort of struggled to get my head around them being in character the whole time. It’s like you are supposed to just ask questions that allow them to be funny, which didn’t come naturally.
