The star of countless Minnesota Wild content pieces over the years, the pride of South St. Paul, Mr. Alex Stalock joins the podcast this week to talk central division rankings, goalie goals, mid-game snacks, his regrets about not starting a pizza blog before Dave Portnoy, and more. Carts is wrapping up sober October, while King tries to reconnect mind and body, for a Zen like show as the Wild wrap up this major road trip to kick off the season.
The living legend, Marc-André Fleury, stops by the pod. The guys break down Kirill’s Gjallahorn debut at the Vikings game, and discuss a Wild team trending toward the top of the Central.
Carts is on the road with the team, and the guys visit with Matt Boldy from his Montreal hotel covering a wide range of topics including nicknames, apartment décor, and the rookie party.
Carts and King discuss the good, bad, and ugly from the Wild’s 0-3 start. Topics include Moose overcoming his fear of seaweed, goaltending woes, and Hartman finding his inner greaser.
Carts and King sit down with Billy G. for a season preview, make a few bold predictions, and discuss the new Wild headshots from media day.
The Wild are off to a sterling 4-0 start in the preseason, the guys chat with “Dewey 1” (Brandon Duhaime) and discuss revamped special teams, kick ball, and Cart’s worst dental week ever.
NHL vet Ryan Carter and hockey hair team creator John King make their big-league debut as the official podcast of the Wild. The guys discuss the top performances at the Wild golf tourney and forward Adam Beckman stops by for a chat.
Hockey legend Mike Modano joins Carts and Kinger for an episode full of stories, hot takes, and deep dives that hockey fans won’t want to miss. Mike shares his thoughts on the 4 Nations, debates in on whether a Stanley Cup or a gold medal holds more glory, and even gets into the weeds with Wild lineup breakdowns. Stick around for Mikes USA Hockey stories and plenty of insights from one of the greatest American-born players to ever lace ‘em up!
#46 Captain of the Minnesota Wild, Jared Spurgeon, revisits his favorite Wild podcast and brings along a side of him that even our hosts have't seen. Jared talks about his team, how they support each other, chirp each other, and how they appreciate a nice "sauce" to one another. Carts and King talk ODRs, the red dragon, puffy vests, and more, but stick around for Pulltab etiquette towards the end of the show. If you don't know anything about Pulltab's, this would be a solid introduction before you make your way over to Bunny's. Rip the doors off with Spurg in this weeks episode.
Happy Thanksgiving from Wild on 7th! Carts and King sit down to reminisce about the holiday hunger games, talk ODR's, whiteouts, and more, while the Minnesota Wild are leading the league and have the leading scorer. Things on West 7th are Wild, but arguably just as wild on the road, as this team is finding ways to win wherever they lace up. Kick back, relax, and nurse that weekend hangover back to health with another Wild on 7th, your favorite Wild podcast.
The #38 Special, Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman drops by the pod for another entertaining conversation, ranging from trucks to fatherhood to holiday cheer. The crew talks about Hartzy's love of the outdoors, fishing for bass and muskie, some recent purchases that Dirty Harry might appreciate, and wearing your new jacket to the rink. Pony up and buy that leather jacket you've been eyeing, because you should attack life like Hartzy attacks competition, worry free with a chip on your shoulder.
Friend of the show, Minnesota Wild defenseman, #5 Jake Middleton returns to the pod, and seemingly didn't want to leave, so buckle up for a longer show this week. "Jake Midstrom," as Wes Walz coined recently, talks about the strong start from the squad, welcoming his first child to the world, his tape job, playing with Kirill and so much more. Throw on a hoodie, or maybe a crew neck if that's more your style, and get ready for all things Jake Middleton.
Sorry for the delay on this weeks episode, but we got hit by a MOOSE and it took a second to recover. Carts and King dive into youth hockey updates, beer league shenanigans, the recent road trip, and how Hynes brings the "hard." Alternate Captain Marcus Foligno also drops by to discuss his role as a leader, his Sudbury Ontario summers, fun with family, and maintaining balance on and off the ice. When Moose enters the room you listen up, so listen up to Wild on 7th.
Welcome to the positivity palace this week, as Carts and King find it difficult to find any gaps in the Wild's games as of late. Kinger has been riding the wave on this fantastic voyage, and by the sounds of it, might need to mix in some vitamin C, as our guest Yakov Trenin shares stories about the Russian National team, dropping the mitts, his love of video games, and his love/hate or just plain lack of Borscht. The squad seems to be clicking, our mustachioed man is now a father, the lineup is strong, and positivity is leading to points.
Long-time Minnesota Wild Captain, Mikko Koivu dropped by your favorite Wild podcast for the hard hitting questions now that he is enjoying his retirement. Carts and King dive into what makes the Fin tick, his love of ice cold coke between periods, the importance of freshly warmed gloves, and his famous shootout move that continually proved successful even when the entire arena knew it was coming. A guy that still appreciates the trainers over all the years, Mikko Koivu still sounds like he is game ready. So strap in, put your gloves on the dryer, crush that ice, and listen up to Finnish former captain. #9forAllTime
