Connect ~ Grow ~ Bloom

These 3 words are the foundation to this project; The need to connect as humans, to grow through lifelong learning, and when we do both those things, we bloom!
The Wildflower Project begins with connecting our journeys and starting conversations. Conversations about all the different life stuff we're dealing with at different levels. We believe you will appreciate our honest, uncensored, and unscripted discussions that we hope you can all connect with.

Sherry and her son, Carsen discuss how this COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to pivot, create a "Plan B" and find a new normal.  For Carsen, he had just began his career and was gaining the momentum he had hoped for and  now he's  using this time to prepare for a strong comeback.
Starting 2020 with the "idea" of having clear vision, as 2020 has now been considered just that but also slowing things down in order to see the bigger picture. Slowing down to speed up, setting goals, finding mentors and seeing what seeds are sprouting that were planted in 2019. Come have a listen as host, Sherry Sobey reflects on the year to come. @wildflowerprojectwpg
You know all those places you only dream about going to?  What stops us from actually going?  For women, a lot of times it's our own selves! Stepping out of our comfort zone or perhaps your single or have no one to travel with. Travelling on your can be one of the most empowering things you do!  Shelley from Fun Seekers Travel has been arranging solo trips and group trips for 15 years. She has all kinds of suggestions and a good dose of encouragement for those of you that are teetering with the idea!  Come have a listen as we talk about not just dreaming it but doing it! https://www.funseekers.ca/
Amanda Green is the artist behind Melt Chocolate Company, a gourmet line of chocolates and bonbons like none other! It’s no surprise that they are known as the chocolates that are too pretty to eat but too delicious not to, as Amanda has a long history as an artist! Once a principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, a devastating hip injury ended her 13 year career and had her changing course. Come have a listen as I have the privilege of hearing how this beautiful ballerina turned chocolatier! Instagram - @meltchocolateco Website - meltchocolatecompany.com
I’m always surprised how quickly word spreads, good and bad equally, and it certainly spread for the good about Prairie Sun Healing!  Folks were coming into Generation Green specifically looking for this full spectrum, cannabis infused healing salve, and going on about the benefits they experienced from using it. Many of the pain issues, including muscle and joint pain, nerve damage, headaches and arthritis and even skin conditions such as eczema, wounds, burns and even acne were being relieved, reduced or eliminated with this little container of salve. Just take a look here at the testimonials! “The best gift you can give is pain relief to someone you love” – Owner, Nicholas Kohuch I had first met Nicholas Kohuch, the founder/creator of this healing salve when it was still in the test stages. I was definitely impressed with the  amount of knowledge and passion he had for his product and was happy to hear that he had stayed the course. Once legal to do so, he began the leg work with the markets and educating.  His intention is genuinely to help eliminate pain from people’s lives. Making ourselves a priority when it comes to our health is something I have long spoke on!  We can never truly live our intended, best life until we do.  I’m excited to see where this young entrepreneur goes with this business in terms of product expansion and reach, and believe he has the potential and drive to do some great things!  Come have a listen to learn more about Nick and Prairie Sun Healing in this episode.
In this episode I get to have a chat with Nancy & Rachel, the co-creators of Cosmic Elixir Company. We talk about energies, magical concoctions and all those loving feelings! If you’ve stumbled across their enticing social media pages and are curious to know a little more, then come eavesdrop in on this one! October 27th - Vintage Pyjama & Elixir Immersion
Fortify: Made Strong

Fortify: Made Strong

2019-09-2339:29

In this episode I sit down with the co-CEO's of Fortify, Stephanie Rempel & Katrina Vanderveen.   We talk about their fast tracked plan to open the Fortify location, their vision for this venture and what it's like being young entrepreneurs. Many of you may connect Fortify to the granola, but they always knew they were going to be much more than that.  The granola however was a great way to start building connections, starting the conversations about wellness and building their brand. Their trademark "Made Strong" is the foundation of their vision.  Believing we are made with these amazing bodies that are capable of so much including recovering from illness, pushing past what we think our limits are and that we can and should take control of health, but we don't have to do it alone. Their new location opening this October, 2019 in St Boniface at 123 Marion and will feature a team of holistic doctors, alternative medical solutions, a wellness & lifestyle boutique and a small eatery. Come have a listen to learn more about Fortify!
We're breaking open the bubbly as we settle back in and get started with season 2!! Kombucha bubbly that is!! In this interview I sit down with brewmaster, Michelle Leclair of Wolseley Kombucha and talk about this popular beverage that everyone by now seems to know about.  They may not be able to pronounce it correctly, (kum-boo-cha) but plenty are sippin' it and reaping the benefits! Tune in and hear directly from Michelle about how & why she started in this venture, the known benefits of drinking kombucha on the daily and what her secret ingredient is!! Wolseley Kombucha is almost ready to open their new brew lab,  details here about that as well.
This first season was our "seed planting" time where we set the intention to "CONNECT", and that was exactly what we did!  We will be taking the next couple months to work on our ideas for Season 2, which will include a new addition to our format as we work on "watering those planted seeds" with the new intention set...the "GROW" portion of our Wildflower plan!  We are really exited about the possibilities to come, especially working with the growth intention as our focus.  Little sneak peak about what's to come is mentioned in this sign off episode, so come have a listen to hear whats to come!  @wildflowerprojectwpg
We all were excited to have a chance to sit and chat with the beautiful songbird, Sheena Grobb, as we all have experienced just how moving and relatable her music can be. Sheena was definitely gifted the ability to not only sing, but to write, and not just to write, but to write emotions. To capture the raw, the beautiful, and the life changing moments and weave them into something that captures your heart. @SheenaGrobb www.sheenagrobb.com
I always find it fascinating to hear someone tell their story, to explain how they got to where they are and then when their passion starts to speak you know they are meant to do something big!  Owner and makeup artist Nancy Dutiaume of Made Beauty Co. is definitely passionate.  She's passionate not only about makeup and the artistry involved, but also bringing out the beauty from within!  The beauty that we maybe aren't seeing for ourselves but perhaps needs a little coaxing out with a tool she uses called "confidence".  It's through confidence that beauty radiates and Nancy is on a mission to hand that tool to every woman she meets! Nancy offers workshops on clean beauty, makeup tips and tricks and of course her and her team of mobile artists are available for any event that you might require a full glamover! In addition to this, Nancy is one of the hosts of a new podcast that recently launched called "Version 5" , a podcast about five women changing the narrative within our communities through love. @madebeautyco www.madebeautyco.com
What a joy it was to sit and chat with energy healer Samantha Sawatzky of Divine Light Therapies.  Sam has such a warm glow about her, a lightness, and I would go as far to say an "angelic" aura about her! It's no surprise to hear her story of being innocently led to a calling of healing others.  Samantha's approach is one that looks at the whole person; the mental, physical, emotional, & spiritual.  Offering services that include crystals, sound therapy, toning, essential oils, shamanic healing, Reiki and energy healing. @DivineLightTherapies www.divinelighttherapies.com
Karen Litinsky & Maureen Brouwer of Paradise Of Reality know bodies, know pain and maybe even more importantly, they also know there is much more going on behind the scenes! Come have a listen in as we chat about understanding there is wisdom in pain, the ego mind and how collectively, Paradise Of Reality can assist in healing more than just our physical pain. @ParadiseofReality www.paradiseofreality.com www.facebook.com/ParadiseOfReality
Come have a listen as Sherry, Pam & Alison have a conversation about a growing concern called “Ageism” If you are unaware of this term, Ageism is a type of discrimination or prejudgment against aging or elderly people and their capabilities. This type of discrimination can be especially evident in the workplace. Many adults try to re-enter the workforce after either being home raising a family, or perhaps even wanting to change careers.  They can be met with judgment of their competency or viewed as having had their time! The attitudes and stereotypes about aging are formed I believe on our personal experiences and interactions with aging people.  If you had great experiences with aging family members it will definitely be easier than those that have simply formed opinions based on what others believe. With a little examination of our thoughts and beliefs around aging, we can perhaps try to be aware of when we allow the prejudgment to take over and help minimize the belief. @wildflowerprojectwpg
Nathalie Daudet of The Fertility Awareness Project is pretty passionate about all things related to cycles, menstrual cycles that is! She became so fascinated with it that she dove in to learn all she could in hopes of teaching others. Fertility is not just about making babies,  it's about your health! - Nathalie Daudet   Nathalie is a certified fertility awareness educator with FEMM (Fertility Education & Medical Management) and a social worker. Women’s health is her specialty and she loves talking about it in hopes of empowering women.  She encourages women to get to know their bodies for the sake of their health and to better understand what is going on at any given time during their monthly cycle. We talk about cervical mucus, basal body temperature, becoming your own health advocate and understanding that there are options to synthetic hormones for birth control. Nathalie offers a few different ways to connect if you want to learn more, through events and workshops and online.  Check out her website for more information and start taking control! @fertilityawarenessproject
In this epsiode, we were missing our co-host Alison for our usual round table talk, so Sherry & Pam decided to kinda interview each other! We each came up with some questions to ask each other, some serious, some simple and some that made us think a little.  As usual, we end up always having a chuckle about something but mostly we just really enjoy our time connecting with each other. We really do want to connect with our listeners too!  So please leave us a comment, suggestion, etc., and we promise to get back to you!
Alison Ritchie of Grand Voyage Herbals and Sacred Pregnancy is the ultimate nurturer.  Spending time with this beautiful woman is like being wrapped in the warmest of embrace.  She simply oozes authentic love for the earth, for the beauty in the world, for the magic in herbs and for the birth of life.  @this_grand_voyage_ www.alisonritchie.com
Lisa Scrivens is on a mission to help as many people as she can by connecting them to spirit and better understand the journey we all take. From a young age Lisa could see and sense spirit.  She grew up with a mother and grandmother that also shared this gift and recognized it for what it was. She attempted to push this aside as she was embarrassed at the possibility of being made fun of.  It wasn't until her grandmother that had since passed away came to her and told her it was her time to use this gift, that she decided to honour her and begin to utilize with the intention of helping people. Finding comfort after a loved one has passed is what most come looking to Lisa for, as do those that fear the unknown and need to appease their own anxious fears.  For our co-host Alison who lost her daughter tragically (see episode 9 for her story), Lisa became her lifeline and gave her the only possible comfort when she connected and knew her daughter was ok. Unbeknownst to many, Lisa freely offers her services to palliative care patients. This is something that has really become an important part of her strong desire to give back.  It was while giving in service that Lisa discovered yet another gift she instinctively felt led by.  You will have to tune in to hear exactly what that gift is, when Lisa shares this publicly for the very first time!  We hope you will enjoy this special episode and find comfort you might be needing. lisascrivens.com @lisascrivensmedium Lisa Scrivens-Canadian Medium Facebook Group
We all know the benefits being in nature offers us.  Even just visualizing a warm sunny day, can evoke a feeling of warmth, of nurturing or of peace within.  Why then do we not go there first for healing, for stress release, or reconnecting and grounding. We have this beautiful gift of nature that we don't necessarily utilize for our healing.  Amelia MacDougal is the founder of Seeds Of Love Creations and is passionate about guiding us all to reconnect, to allow ourselves to be open and instinctively led to finding our medicine in nature. "My passion for healing through nature was sparked while I was working as a pharmacist, as my eyes were opened, through both my personal experience and that of the people I was caring for, to the widespread impact of stress in our lives, and the failure of our medical system to truly make us well." @SeedsOfLoveCreations www.seedsoflovecreations.com
Everyone has a story, and we're grateful that our Wildflower co-host Alison is so courageous to share a part of hers with all of us. Losing her only biological daughter Amy tragically five years ago, and then trying to figure out who she could now be in this world, was, is, and will forever be part of her journey.  Some of you may remember or recognize Amy as one of Generation Green's original staff members.  We feel as if Amy somehow has been part of bringing this Wildflower Project to be and will be forever grateful for having had her a part of our lives.
