Will They, Won't They?

Christmas in February? That’s a thing right? Well it is for us (we didn’t get a chance to do any xmas movies in December and we make our own rules hehehe!) Join Abby and Harper as they travel to Harper’s parents for a romantic and warm holiday! Just kidding! They both have to pretend not to be gay the whole time because Harper isn’t ready to come out to her family. Abby is feeling conflicted about it but ultimately supports Harper. It’s awkward, difficult, and frustrating- but what family holiday isn’t? This movie reminds us that love is what really matters and we all deserve to be our authentic selves no matter what. And that it’s ok to track your friends location at all times! (Thanks Dan Levy!)

Anyways, we also find out that Jacob is a shapeshifter and he can turn into a wolf who fights vampires! Yikes! This is where the whole Team Edward or Team Jacob thing really starts to heat up! Soooo... Which team are you???

The Great who? The Great Gatsby! That’s right, join us as we explore the wild world of the roaring 20’s! Nick Carraway moves to Long Island so that he can pursue banking, but he moves next door to the infamous Mr. Gatsby. No one knows who exactly this man is, but he throws the most extravagant parties. Throughout the story Nick learns not only who Jay Gatsby is, but also learns of Gatsby’s deep love for Nick’s cousin, Daisy. We almost forgot to mention that Leonardo DiCaprio is Gatsby! We hope you enjoy this complex but beautiful film, old sports!!

On their one-year anniversary, sous chef Tom plans to surprise his girlfriend, Violet, with an engagement ring. They get engaged and all is well but then Violet gets a PHD opportunity in Michigan and they decide to move away from San Fransisco for two years. Each time they try to set a date for the wedding, various obstacles stand in their way. As more and more time passes, Tom and Violet begin to wonder if they will ever get married! This movie is funny and relatable and reminds us that Michigan is really cold, we love Jason Segel, and that true love will always find a way!

A romcom that’s a play on Mariah Carey lyrics, sign us up! Sasha and Marcus were best friends growing up and had a fleeting love affair until Marcus puts his foot in his mouth. After, they live completely separate lives until 16 years later they’re suddenly reunited. Sometimes, absence (and a helpful Keanu Reeves cameo) really can make the heart grow fonder. Don’t worry, we sing that famous Mariah lyric off-key several times in this episode! 

Pop goes my heart! If you're a fan of cheesy 80's music and Hugh Grant's hips, you'll love this one! Alex is a washed up has-been in need of a new lyricist to help write a song for a famous pop star. In walks Sophie, his new plant girl, who just happens to be a writer. Together, these two write really beautiful music (like, honestly the music from this movie slaps-) but it doesn't come easy. In order to do this- they have to find their way back into love.

Romance? Check. Comedy? Check. A secret underground society? Surprisingly, check. Jibran and Leilani are realizing their relationship is just not working when they’re suddenly thrust into solving a murder they witnessed while on their way to dinner. Have you been looking for Someone Great? Join Jenny and her two best friends as they process the fact that her nine year relationship has come to an abrupt end! And on top of that she’s leaving NYC for her new job in San Fran! This movie is about the importance of surrendering to love and friendship and change-in 24 hours! Cue the incredible soundtrack, the heartbreaking flashbacks, and Rupaul as a super cool drug dealer!

It’s 1985! There’s tons of sax solos and big hair! A group of college grads/best friends embark on adult life together. There’s lots of partying and drama and Rob Lowe looking like the first e-boy to ever exist. This movie is about growing up and figuring out who you really are in the face of a big and scary world. Also Demi Moore has an amazing pink apartment! 

It's time to put your two weeks in! If you love Hugh Grant, Sandra Bullock, and New York City- this movie is for you! Lucy takes a job as a corporate lawyer for millionaire George Wade thinking she can do more good from inside the company, even though she's against everything Wade stands for! Naturally George is incredibly funny, sexy, and charming (as Hugh always is) and the lines blur for both of them as they navigate a complex working relationship! Get ready to laugh, swoon, and cheer for this unlikely couple!

As if! Join Cher as she navigates the totally harsh world of High School. Her wit and charm allow her to talk her way out of anything, but what happens when her ex step brother, Josh, calls her a selfish brat? She’s totally buggin and decides to prove him wrong! Sure… maybe she’s a little clueless along the way, but at least she’s a total betty!

Love, Simon? More like love yourself! Happy pride, we couldn’t resist watching Love, Simon to kick off this pride month. Simon is struggling with how to come out to his family and friends when he begins a very romantic relationship with another anonymous and closeted gay classmate.
