Description

I have spent the last 10 years wondering when oil prices would recover to improve my chances of getting that next greatest job. During my own research on LinkedIn since late 2017, I spent a lot of time trying to create awareness for our Blockchain project and recruit developers. I came to realize that there is a real lack of awareness of the free resources available on LinkedIn and the Internet for not only CV/resume preparation and review but also for professional development that can improve your CV. Over the coming days, weeks and months this podcast will be packed with career advice.

In this episode, host Allen Wazny seeks to provide practical ideas on how a healthcare professional can conduct an alternative job search, particularly if existing avenues and efforts have kept the individual unemployed or working in a role that is less than desirable. As with many earlier podcasts, Allen seeks to outline several steps to approaching: 1. Healthcare startups or innovative tech companies in the healthcare sector 2. Healthcare venture capital companies and their focus on hiring medical doctor’s, physicians, scientists and related professionals to guide during the investment and post investment process 3. Administrative or technical support roles “over the platform” 4. Outreach via LinkedIn
In this episode, Allen Wazny makes the analogy to the famous movie, “Slum Dog Millionaire”, based upon the incredible technology and innovation revolution that is under way in India. Allen is frequently requested by India-based service providers to see if the European and North American companies he works for are interested in engaging them. This includes web design, content creation, marketing and advertising, video creation and coders / developers for web and mobile applications. What is surprising is the incredible breadth and depth of startups across India that could benefit from the very home-grown talent that such individuals are seeking to export. So, when Allen is asked if such services are required by the companies he is working with, he immediately turns around to say: “Have you looked to see what slumming your dog is doing in the back yard?”
In this episode, Allen Wazny seeks to outline how he recently provided career advice to an MEP Engineer in Dubai. What was the advice? Using LinkedIn to find like minded individuals in similar or more senior roles. Using LinkedIn and other social media to follow the companies he was seeking to work for. Subscribe to their news feeds to find out about the existing projects they are working on and any new projects in the pipeline. Finally, using the “personalized message” feature on LinkedIn to more effectively reach out to individuals in these companies.
In this episode, Allen Wazny seeks to provide some thoughts on the growing demand of Venture Capital firms hiring support personnel across the platform. This includes HR, marketing, finance and other back office support that is growing in importance as VC firms expand their portfolio. That is definitely one potential area that many job seekers may overlook or not realize is available.

In this episode, Allen Wazny seeks to make a comparison to the Gary Vaynerchuk analogy in business of “finding the Open Space” to reverse engineer his activities to take steps that are the complete opposite to what everyone else is doing. This can be applied in job search by taking steps to enhance your skills relative to your profession and/or discipline to stand out from the rest of the pack.
In this episode, Allen Wazny expands upon his podcast from 25 June 2019 whereby he focused on the need to understand the latest SaaS available on the global market for your sector or functional area of business when circumstances in your current role do not permit adoption of such SaaS.
