Being a retired high performance athlete myself, I understand the great challenges that athletes are faced with on their journey for greatness. The mental toughness that is required to become a champion is riddled with obstacles. The aim of this program is to give the support that athletes are screaming out for to lay the foundations to platform from.

So much thought, knowledge and experience has gone into this program to make it transferable for athletes who are in the twilight of their careers or who have already retired and are facing the challenges of their new reality. A massive since of lost identity can follow a great career, no matter what level you compete at. The loss is one that can have seriously negative outcomes for the retired athlete. The intention in making the Winning Athlete Formula transferable into life skills, is to ensure that retied or retiring athletes continue to experience the super star status while creating the balance in their lives and more importantly, within themselves.

Goals are important to everyone. They give us a clear direction to move into. There are a lot of people out there that believe that goal setting doesn't work and with all the goal setting tools out there, which one works? In this episode we explore how every goal setting tool works and the reasons why goal setting works for some and doesn't work for others.
Visualisation is key to reaching the top. You must be able to envision yourself winning before you can truly be consistent. Some people have tried mind movies and found that it didn't work for them. In this podcast we go through what is good practice when visualising and common mistakes that prevent people from reaching their true potential.
Episode four is a huge chunk of what this program is about. Self-management covers so much and in general is individualized. However, one major area in self-management is - emotional states. In this episode Luke goes through a tough time in his career when he was faced with huge challenges and grief while having the opportunity to live his dream. A very powerful story.
The habits we create for ourselves, for better or for worse, have the power to control our lives. For an athlete, habits can empower their performance when they are aware of them. Too many times people are unaware of the detrimental rewards they get out of their habits. With a complete understanding of what triggers a habit and what behavior leads to the reward, athletes can be in the drivers seat when it comes to building a successful career.
Our standards change the way we look at life as well as the way we train and perform. In most cases people don't know what their standards are, let alone be able to shift them towards standards that would support who they want to be or what they want to accomplish.
The Winning Athlete Formula is a program designed to help enable athletes to move towards becoming champions. The first episode is an introduction to the six areas of this amazing model. Interviewed by Mark Rigg, the creator of the Winning Athlete Formula - Luke Lee Tet, goes into detail about mental blocks and how they prevent athletes from achieving the greatness they work so hard to achieve.
