Description
He left home as the chubby kid with a dream, a decade later, he's a touring comic with a killer set. Literally. In Wisecrack, stand-up comedian Edd Hedges returns to his hometown for a charity gig, only to find himself headlining the most terrifying night of his life. The warm welcome quickly unravels into a chilling true crime tale of a downward spiral and a town shaken by murder. When TV crime producer Jodi Tovay stumbled across Edd’s comedy set, it did more than get a few laughs, it opened the door to a years-long investigation she never saw coming. Part comedy special, part true crime thriller, Wisecrack blends punchlines with plot twists in a genre-defying ride where the laughs are real and the danger is no joke.

Wisecrack moments often sneak into our day, reminding us not to take life too seriously, especially when we pause for something meaningful. Many people find a sense of calm when they choose to read surah Rahman online, letting its verses quiet the noise around them. It’s a simple balance of light humor and reflection that helps keep the heart grounded.https://surahrahmanpdf.net/
I have a hard time thinking that Brett came to Ed’s house to hide or reconnect. I believe he was there to hurt Ed. The pain that Brett experienced throughout his life , he would deflect onto Ed. He continually hurt Ed. Ed’s comedy performance that fateful night, is what triggered something in Brett that ended up killing his mother and her friend . Brett’s life is a good example of the many disturbed people there are who do not get the help that they so desperately need. It’s extremely tragic

For the most part I enjoyed this, slightly different take on a true crime podcast but the amount of ads was insane! Considering the episodes didn't really go above 45 mins, don't need 10+ mins of ads too.
The adverts are absolutely ridiculous, nearly a third of the runtime of each episode 🤦♀️
The take away point for me was the interaction between Edd & his parents in 'Brett Who' when they are talking about the night. Edd seems frustrated that (his mum especially) isn't recalling the same memories. I feel they were then trying to help him save face with their answers. Doesn't mean I think he was consciously lying. I found this section the most telling of it all but it seems to have been forgotten about to continue the narrative being that Brett was at the house.
Four episodes in and... what is the mystery? It's such a non-story, like the producer got carried away.
The story has me intrigued, but the 30% ads and other time wasting is torture
I can't stand Ed's brother.
