Spirit Doors Of October

We are all getting those moments now ... when the unseen reaches out to us! Whether it’s a chill down your spine, a dream that feels too vivid to ignore or even just that crow that won’t stop perching outside your window. Feathers!  For me right now … so many feather signs.  Today we are going to explore how spirits show up for us, how we can recognize and work with their signs, and most importantly ... how to protect our space and say no thank you when something doesn’t feel right.   Just because the door is open, doesn’t mean we have to invite everyone in. We get to be the gatekeepers. We get to choose. And in that choice, there’s so much power!I’d love to hear how this veil season is showing up for you! The signs, the dreams and the little nudges from the unseen. Share your stories with me on Patreon, pop into the blog comments, or tag me on socials so we can walk through this October magic together. We've got this!CharlenePatreonHearth & HenWitchy Work Wishes

The Witch's Cauldron

The cauldron is one of those images that everybody knows the second they see it. That round-bellied pot, maybe bubbling over with something mysterious, maybe just sitting quietly by a hearth… it’s practically the mascot of witches everywhere. But here’s the fun part ... the cauldron isn’t just a spooky Halloween decoration that comes out only in October. It has some pretty deep roots! Whether you’ve got a cast-iron pot hanging over a fire, or just a little brass cauldron on your altar to hold herbs and incense, you are tapping into thousands of years of myth, magic, and everyday survival. When I look at my cauldron, I don’t just see food simmering or herbs burning.  I see a place where endings and beginnings meet. Where something raw goes in and something new comes out. October practically wraps us in correspondences. It’s not just the cauldron over the fire, it’s the whole season acting like a spell in motion.  While the cauldron is certainly our iconic image, I like to think of October as a whole basket of magical correspondences. The apples, the pumpkins, the spices, the firelight, even the shadows creeping earlier each night. They’re all ingredients in the potion of this month. All we really have to do is notice them, honor them, and maybe weave them into a little magic of our own.Hearth & HenPatreonWitchy Work Wishes

Fall Kitchen Witchcraft

Today we are going to tie our aprons, light a candle (if you’ve got one handy) and talk about how the kitchen... our everyday ordinary kitchen ... is actually one of the most magical spaces we have. Because fall is the season of warm soups, spiced teas, and cozy evenings, and each of those is a perfect place to stir in just a little witchcraft. Your kitchen is more than just a room. It’s a sacred space, the modern hearth, the cauldron of your home. Every time you step into it (whether you’re chopping veggies, baking bread, or just grabbing a snack) you have the chance to bring a little magic into the ordinary. And today we are going to do just that ... together!PatreonWitchy Work WishesHearth & Hen

Mabon 2025

For me, fall feels like gratitude woven right into the air. It’s the season of harvest baskets, chunky sweaters, and yes lots and lots of pumpkin-spice-everything moments! But deeper than that, it’s about balance, it’s about letting ourselves be held by the cycles of the Earth. We’ve planted, we’ve tended, we’ve grown and now we gather. Today it’s all about the magic of this season, the symbols, the stories, and of course some practical, everyday ways we can bring Mabon energy into our lives. I can't wait to share it all with you!Patreon FamilyWitchyWorkWishes.comHearth & Hen

Guest Anika - Between Two Worlds

I am so glad you are joining us today ….  it’s simply two friends, two witches, sharing stories, laughter, and that kind of cozy magic that only happens when you’re truly in good company. I created a list of questions that I rattled off to Anika, host of the podcast Between Two Worlds. One by one she shared her wisdom, her thoughts and her experiences.  And guess what … when the recording was done, she took that same list and started a new recording for her podcast … asking me the same questions.  If you want to listen to all of my banter … head over to her podcast.  I have a link in the show notes and I would love to share my little spotlight on her podcast with you. For today though it is the best kind of magic we can practice! It is just sitting down with someone we adore (a friend, a colleague, a fellow witch) and letting the conversation flow. No big rituals, no pressure to “be on,” just the giggles, the side stories, and those sparkly little moments that remind us why connection is sacred! The Snake Spirit

As we call The Snake Spirit into our circle today, I want us to think about the serpent in a broad, powerful way. Snake energy overall is about transformation, healing, primal vitality, and of course shadow work. It’s that universal, archetypal serpent ... the one that slithers through myth and medicine, through the soil and the subconscious, reminding us that growth is always a process of shedding and beginning again. That’s where we’ll focus our energy in this episode: Snake in its fullness, the general essence of what this animal spirit brings into our practice! The Snake teaches us about shedding ... about releasing the skins we’ve outgrown and stepping into the raw, new, and powerful versions of ourselves. It reminds us that transformation is not always comfortable, but it is always necessary. The old scales must fall away so the brilliance beneath can shine.  And, oh my goodness …. Just right on track for everything we are going through and doing together and the perfect spirit to follow after all of our crow energy in August!Witchy Work WishesPatreonHearth & Hen

Mountain Musings

I want you to imagine that moment when the trail takes a turn and suddenly the view open up. You are standing at a break in the tress, and there before you are endless ridges rolling into the distance, layers of blue and green fading into haze. That sight ... it makes you breathe differently. It slows you down. It roots you in awe. And, in that moment, it is impossible not to feel connected. That is the heartbeat of this episode. That sense of being both humbled and held. Both small and infinite. I want to share with you what the mountains stirred awake in me ... the moments of land connection, of shifting energy, of ancestral presence and of pure mountain magic. So come with me ... lace up your boots, feel the crunch of gravel beneath your feet and walk with me along this path. Norse Witchcraft Part 1

Today we start at the beginning. With the bones. With the roots. With the big, gnarled world tree that holds it all. And ... go ahead and get comfy (it’s a long one today). Maybe light a candle, pour yourself something warm or earthy and give yourself permission to just settle in for a bit. Because this episode? This one’s going to feel like stepping through a fog-laced forest, boots crunching softly over ancient soil, as we begin a long, winding walk down the path of Norse Witchcraft. The old northern traditions. The bones of the North.  This is going to be a two-part journey and not just informational, but deeply personal too. We’re not just learning names and dates and symbols here… we’re walking alongside the ancestors, feeling into the roots of what was and how it still echoes in us now. This is your invitation ... not just to listen, but to feel your way through this with me. You don’t have to be of Norse descent to walk this path with reverence. You don’t need to already know the names or myths. All you need is an open heart, a curious spirit, and a willingness to explore.  Let’s call in the old ways and … walk the path of the North together!PatreonHearth & HenWitchy Work Wishes

Lughnasadh 2025

At its heart, Lughnasadh is the celebration of the first grain harvest. Think barley, wheat, corn ... everything golden and glowing under the sun right now. It’s that time of year when the fields are full and heavy with the results of long months of effort. Our efforts! The sun has been shining, the rains have come and gone, and now the Earth is ready to give us what we’ve worked for. Lughnasadh honors the labor of the season. The planting, the tending, the showing up again and again (even when it’s hard). It’s a time to pause and recognize and say ... hey, we did something. We made it grow. Whether it’s a physical garden or something more symbolic, this is when we start to see the fruits of our effort. But here's where it gets beautifully bittersweet. Lughnasadh is also a moment of sacrifice. To harvest the grain, we have to cut it down. The grain must die so we can be fed. That’s powerful stuff. It’s not just a celebration ... it’s a recognition of the sacred exchange: life feeding life. This sabbat reminds us that letting go isn’t always a loss. Sometimes it’s the doorway into our next evolution! Let's celebrate Lughnasadh together!Witchy Work WishesPatreonHearth & Hen

Witchcraft 103

We live in a world that loves to divide things into good or bad, black or white, safe or dangerous. But witchcraft has never lived in such stark contrasts. It is messy, layered, nuanced. It holds multitudes. So today, I invite you to release the need to judge what you do not yet understand. I ask you to come to this topic the way a true witch approaches the work with reverence, with curiosity, and with an open mind.  Today we are diving back into the basics with Witchcraft #103 and talking about the actual types of spells we have in our craft … and how to write them.  We’re walking into a part of the craft that often stirs the deepest parts of who we are: the art of spellcasting, and the dual energy that pulses through it—dark and light, shadow and shine. I have a downloaded worksheet to help with this too ... just head over to our Patreon family and click, print & begin!PatreonHearth & HenWitchy Work Wishes

Tree Magic

Earth itself is our oldest alter. Long before we lit incense or flipped through a grimoire, our ancestors knelt in the soil, drew circles in the dirt, and made offerings beneath the canopy of stars. The elements weren’t metaphors; they were companions. Fire for transformation, water for intuition, air for inspiration, and earth for grounding. Each one alive, speaking in a language beyond words. And within this sacred natural tapestry, it is the trees that stand as sentinels of memory and magic. Trees are more than wood and leaf. They are ancient guides, rooted in both the underworld and the heavens. Their roots drink from deep, hidden places. Their branches reach toward the stars. They teach us the truth of duality ... that we too can hold light and shadow, stillness and growth, the above and the below. When we lean against a tree, we aren't just resting; we’re recalibrating. Trees absorb what we carry ... the static noise, the ache in our hearts, the tension in our bodies. They offer us back a steadiness and a silence that heals. They remind us that slow growth is still growth, and that there’s power in being deeply rooted before reaching upward. Nature was our first teacher, and it remains our most faithful one. Magical Homekeeping

Sacred homekeeping is the spiritual art of tending to your space with care, intention, and magical awareness. It is the gentle, powerful practice of transforming the mundane into the mystical! It is about honoring your home as a living extension of your inner world. As witches, we understand that magic isn’t reserved for moonlit rituals or elaborate altars. It lives in the everyday: in the way we sweep the floors, stir our tea, water the plants, and open the windows to let in fresh air and old spirits. Sacred homekeeping asks us to treat our domestic rituals as spells in motion, weaving energy into every corner of our space so that it becomes not just livable, but alive. From the grounding power of the hearth to the dreamwork done in your bedroom sanctuary, this episode is all about creating sacred space that supports your magic, your emotions, and your growth. July is the perfect month to focus on this energy ... pulling on and working with the energy of the Cancer sign!PatreonWitchy Work WishesHearth & Hen

The Frog Spirit

Did you know that the Frog has been long intertwined with witchcraft?  There’s something ancient, instinctual, and deeply mystical about the way frogs show up in a Witch’s world. Their croaks echo through dusk like a chorus of spells being cast. Their eyes — half in water, half in sky — mirror our dual sight. And their journeys, from tadpole to full-grown leaper, speak directly to the shape-shifting soul of the Witch. There’s an emotional wisdom in Frog Spirit. The frog teaches us to feel. Its songs call down the rain. It doesn’t run from the storm — it sings to it. And we…  understand this. We cry under the moon. We soak in ritual baths to cleanse what the world has coated us in. We release grief through spells, through chants, through our very breath. Frogs are not afraid to be wet — and neither are we. We welcome the flood when it comes. So the next time you see the moon shining on a quiet puddle or hear the frogs singing after the rain — pause. Something magical is being stirred. Inside you. Around you. Through you. Today's episode is all about the Frog Spirit - and I could not be happier to bring this energy into my life and your life. We deserve this time together. :-)PatreonWitchy Work WishesHearth & Hen

Mid-year Check In - 2025 Goals

A mid-year check-in is an act of love toward ourselves and our dreams. It’s a recognition that growth isn’t linear, and progress doesn’t always look the way we thought it would. Sometimes the most powerful move isn’t pushing harder—it’s pausing with intention, gathering wisdom, and choosing our next step with heart and clarity. The halfway point of the year is a sacred threshold. It is not simply a marker on a calendar; it is a portal. A moment where we can pause, breathe, and reflect on the intentions we so carefully set under the bright energy of January's new beginnings! We've got this! Litha 2025 - Summer Solstice

It’s time to celebrate … once again!  Our wheel of the year has turned ever onward … an ongoing ancient spiral of sun and shadow, life and death, sowing and reaping. It is the sacred rhythm of the Earth herself, a great circle marked by eight spokes — eight sabbats — each one a threshold into a different current of energy and magic. These festivals help guide us witches, pagans, and nature lovers alike to honor the cycles of the seasons, to dance in step with the waxing and waning light, and to weave our lives into the great tapestry of the natural world. Litha, our Summer Solstice is the height of the sun. It is the longest day when the Sun King reigns at his zenith. Litha is a celebration of abundance, joy, and the fierce power of fire. But from this peak, the descent begins: a reminder that all things cycle. Join me for today's celebration and let's bask in the sun together!PatreonHearth & HenWitchy Work Wishes

The Business Witch - Pt 1

In the witchy community, we are taught to listen to our intuition, honor the cycles of nature, and craft our lives with intention. We embrace stillness, mystery, and meaning. We speak the language of symbols and signs. We honoremotions not as distractions, but as messengers. In this sacred space, success is defined by alignment, authenticity, and personal growth. But in the corporate world? Things often move fast, linear, and loud. The language of business is filled with metrics and margins, KPIs and deadlines.Productivity is prized. Efficiency is worshipped. And intuition — that beautiful, ancient voice inside us — is too often drowned out by meetings, policies, and the hum of fluorescent lights. In corporate culture, time is sliced into quarters and task lists. There’s little space for the moon, the seasons, or the sacred pause. And for those of us who are witches — who feel energy, who track lunar phases, who sense when something is off in the room before a word is spoken — this environment can feel like living in translation. But what if we don’t have to keep them apart? What if being a witch isn’t in conflict with being a business owner, a teamleader, or a professional? Today's episode is about reclaiming our magic in the business world, owning our ambition, and showing up fully, fiercely, and unapologetically as witches who work with purpose! So let's do it together :-).WitchyWorkWishesPatreonHearth & Hen

Big Picture Thinking

Today is all about the Witch's Guide to Big Picture Thinking and it is setting the stage for a big month of episodes dedicated to the business world we work in. As witches, we are deeply present beings. We honor the seasons as they turn, we mark the phases of the moon, we listen to the whisper of the winds and the roots growing under our feet. And that’s powerful. That’s sacred. But here’s something I’ve learned on my own journey, and it’s something I feel called to share with you today: It’s not just about honoring where we are — it’s also about dreaming into where we are becoming. Big picture thinking — long-term visioning — is itself a form of magic. It’s spellwork stretched out across time. It’s manifestation that doesn’t just bloom for a moment but grows into a mighty oak. Today's episode walks us through the steps and I am so glad you are here joining me for it! PatreonWitchy Work WishesHearth & Hen

Beltane 2025

Can you feel it? That heady, pulsing magic in the air? That electric hum in the earth beneath your bare feet? Beltane is here! And she’s not tiptoeing in quietly — she’s bursting through like wildflowers after the last frost, dancing with firelight and perfume, beckoning us to throw off our coats and leap into life with abandon. This is a festival of community, of heart, of turning on our inner lights and letting them burn bright. Beltane reminds us that we are meant to bloom — wildly, unapologetically, and together. So that is what we are going to do today - celebrate Beltane together!Patreon FamilyWitchy Work Wishes WebsiteHearth & Hen Blog
