Description

I'm Whitney Port, and a lot has happened since you last saw me on The Hills. For starters, I'm a mom, I got married to the love of my life, Timmy, I run a business outside of fashion - it's time we finally catch up. There are so many facets that make up my life: relationships, parenthood, entrepreneurship, beauty, fashion, health, wellness and much more. Join me each week as we meet and discuss all these topics and more with trusted experts and favorite people on earth. Hopefully, we can embark on this new journey together with openness, honesty and a little bit of Whit.

It’s on days like these that I am so thankful for WITH WHIT. The day I interviewed Ryan Haddon, I was in such a slump. I felt this feeling of loss and sadness that I wasn’t able to pick myself out of. Ryan helped me start to climb out of the hole I was in, and I left feeling much more relaxed and welcoming to what lay ahead. Ryan is a certified Life and Spiritual coach, clinical Hypnotherapist, and certified meditation teacher with over 16 years of experience with clients around the world. We talked about the benefits of making a menu of what fills you up, not trusting all of our thoughts, and that by discovering our values and beliefs we can counter the concern of what other people think and so much more.  Ryan is a sought-after public speaker for corporate retreats. Additionally, she does private workshops such as “Stepping Into Your Purpose,” “The Work/Life Balance,” and “Finding Your Center.” She’s also the in-house Life Coach at Kourtney Kardashian’s website Poosh, where she has written more than 50 mind/body/spirit articles.        This episode is brought to you by Lovevery and Hooked On Phonics Give your child the confidence that reading brings with Hooked On Phonics. Coming to you from Chicago!! Timmy and I are sharing all the details of our amazing trip to the South (we made a pitstop in Chicago to surprise my youngest sister, Jadey). We hit Miami, Palm Beach, Charleston, Savannah, Lake Oconee, and Atlanta! Charleston's charm filled my soul so much. A dream. Highly considering moving there (or now Chicago after our brief stint there ;)! The main reason for our trip was to visit Timmy’s long-lost brother and family! Literally. Timmy found out seven years ago that he has an older brother he didn't know. In this episode, he is going to share the beautiful story of how Carey came into our lives. If you can, hug your family (whether it be blood or not).     This episode is brought to you by Athleta, Storyworth, Chloe Wine, and Native.  Athleta is a performance lifestyle brand for women committed to unlocking their limitless potential. Visit Athleta in stores or online at ATHLETA.COM to shop their full range of shorts, available in sizes XXS—3X. Last year, while life was on lockdown and there was so little we could control, I realized I desperately needed to focus on the strategy behind building an influential and important social media presence. I had this "AHA" moment but knew I wasn't capable of this overarching, big picture task. I like small touches and up-close views...and that's ok! I’ve learned the importance of acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses as early as possible so you know when to ask for help. I have the creative eye and vision, but needed someone not only versed in the inner workings of brand building and data analysis, but who also embodied the style, grace and silliness that my brand represents. Enter, Renee Ogaki!! Renee is the founder of OGAKI, the first digital PR agency of its kind. OGAKI is entirely focused on the online space and built for digital-first brands and personalities. Renee has helped me not only strengthen my Instagram channel, but is also handling the social and PR for my lounge line, COZeCO! During our chat she shares how she came up with the strategy for building my and COZeCO's social media accounts and gives some great advice for those looking to get into the digital marketing and PR space! She started working in the digital space before Instagram had even launched, creating a strong foundation of experience in building a brand’s voice and community online. Throughout her career, Renee has worked with pioneering brands across the beauty, fashion, hospitality and lifestyle space including Four Seasons, Diptyque, Charlotte Tilbury, Bulgari Hotels, New Balance, among others.    This episode is brought to you by Chloe Wine Collection.    Chloe Wine Collection is a female-led wine brand, dedicated to celebrating women’s stories and inspiring meaningful moments. If I am not recording a solo episode, then my favorite way to record a podcast is with my husband, Tim Rosenman! There’s no interviewing pressure – we just sit, chat, laugh and enjoy. For this episode, I had the idea for us to do a little homework beforehand. We each came into this conversation with a list of our five favorite things! I had no rules for what they needed to be, so it was so fun to hear how different they were – the lists spanned from apps to activities to mindfulness to products. Additionally, we provided a little life update for what is going on in our home.  To those who need – you can get the nipple covers/Nippies I love and talk about on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3sYu3cR   This episode is brought to you by Agency, Talkspace and Seed. My thirties have become all about wellness and taking care of myself. I have made myself a priority and it feels so good. I am actually witnessing improvement in my mental health. Katie Spies and I continued the conversation on the importance of wellness and self-care. Kate is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Well+Good. We discussed attainable wellness practices including meditation and mindful eating. As well as the reality that not all practices come easy to everyone. PLUS she teaches me a technique for how to make time to sit and dream. Kate joined Well+Good in 2018 to lead the content and growth teams. In her tenure, Well+Good’s audience has more than doubled and the brand has transformed into a multi-channel powerhouse in the fitness & wellness sector, building on its tradition of trend-forward, journalistic reporting. A Day in My Life

A Day in My Life

2021-04-1332:26

My best ideas come while I am in the shower. I wish there was a way to take notes while in there, as sometimes I forget what I have thought about! Waterproof notepad? Thankfully, I did not lose my idea to make a Day in the Life podcast episode! Usually, I record for forty-five minutes in one sitting. I thought it would be cool to record an episode over twenty-four hours! SO, that’s what I did and it was really fun! Every three hours or so, I came back to my desk and recorded about a ten minute update of my day. You’ll hear about what snacks I ate, Sonny’s insane sleeping, my lack of sleep, my therapy session, detailed updates and BTS on my loungewear line, COZeCO, and more!   This episode is brought to you by Pipette. My dream guest is back…my husband, Timothy Rosenman! Timmy and I were in GREAT moods when we recorded this so get ready for singing, laughter and just all around silliness. I asked you all to ask us ANYTHING, and we answered! Though we spent a lot of time laughing, we also ended up diving a little deeper by sharing some of our relationship and personal updates! We are working so hard on our relationship and the result is that we are growing so positively as a couple and as individuals. I may or may not have cried a little bit - I just love him so much! I’ve talked about this before, but I have a blasé relationship with food. I do not crave a certain meal ever (well, maybe a rotisserie chicken basket from The Country Mart) or have excitement over cooking. A goal of mine is to break from my work to fuel my body. Make time for three meals a day. Sounds so simple, but for me it's not. Also, I need to take the pressure off myself that each meal needs to be this immaculate thing. I want to start looking at eating as a necessity to get my body working the way it needs to get me through the day. My conversation with registered dietician, Vanessa Rissetto, was amazing. I want to be her friend. She was so cool and shared so many scientific facts about eating and our bodies. She explained that eating certain foods should not be about gaining or losing weight but to simply give our bodies what they need to function and survive.  Vanessa is the co-founder of Culina Health. Her work in private practice includes treatment of GI disorders, bariatric surgery, weight management, PCOS, and family nutrition. She is mostly interested in helping clients to take an active role in their health journey, any of her clients can tell you she motivates and ensures that they always achieve success. Vanessa was named by Essence magazine as one of the top 5 black nutritionists that will change the way you think about food and currently serves as the Dietetic Internship Director at New York University.   This episode is brought to you by Pipette Pipette is a clean baby and mom care brand with a mission to give every family the best start. During my last solo chat with you all, I talked about how I labeled myself as lazy and unproductive. Last week, I had a huge realization. I feel unmotivated when I am doing work for others and not for me…when I am living my life for someone else. It’s in those moments where I lose the passion for my job and in turn begin to lose myself. In this episode, I recount memories that have contributed to this way of living and thinking. A major example I share is the fact that my 20’s were produced for me for a TV show. I was literally just along for the ride to my life. Now, in my 30’s I am in control, and I don’t know what to do with that power. It’s intimidating! While recording this, I really just wanted to let you into what’s going on in my brain right now. What I’ve learned is my life is mine, and I no longer want to be a bystander to it.   This episode is brought to you by Art of Tea. It’s a Timmy Takeover!! The other week, I had so much on my plate, so I asked Timmy if he would be interested in taking over my podcast for an episode, so I could focus on some other work that needed to be done. If you know him, you know that I did not have to twist his arm. This is another part of my self-care series, and he answered the questions that I previously responded to about self-care. I thought it would be cool for you to hear how we both implement self-care into our lives as you might get further inspired by new ideas. Hope you enjoy this one, I know he did! I identify as Jewish, however, do not actively practice the faith. I consider myself a very spiritual person. During my conversation with Rabbi Steve Leder, we discuss the idea that the word spirituality has lost its meaning as it is consistently overused. It has so much meaning that it now has no meaning. Rabbi Leder, who has played a part with my family for a long time, explains the path to spirituality, the true power of gratefulness and how religion is a vessel to maintain spirituality. Additionally, we spoke about grief. Now more than ever, people all over the world are experiencing grief at varying degrees – the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, the loss of touch, etc. He explains how important it is to accept grief into your daily life instead of fighting against it. I was so moved by his messages and left this conversation looking at my grief so differently. I hope this can help those who are struggling.  To learn more about Rabbi Leder’s messages on grief check out "The Beauty of What Remains: How Our Greatest Fear Becomes Our Greatest Gift" – his inspiring book about loss based on his most popular sermon. I come from a big family! I have three sisters and a brother. Having a big family has its pros and cons, but the biggest pro is that I have so many people to love and be best friends with. Everyone lives in LA except my littlest sister, Jadey Robbins. I miss her constantly. She made a last minute, extended trip to LA, and I, of course, had to bring her on to talk with you all! She is another fave repeat guest of mine. Isn’t she just the sweetest!? She shares all of her must-know beauty tips and products - she is a bigger junkie than I am. I loved speaking with Jessica Zweig. We were totally in sync and the conversation just…flowed. Jessica is the CEO of SimplyBe Agency, a premier personal branding firm based in Chicago, serving clients across the globe. During our conversation, we chat about the power of being your most authentic self and the struggles that come along with trying to achieve that. I feel like I am almost there, but am definitely continuing to have times of doubt. It can be scary! However, we are all worthy of being seen for who we are! Additionally, Jessica shares tips for how to create brand identity.    Named a “Personal Branding Expert” by Forbes, a Top Digital Marketer To Watch by INC, and honored with the Gold and Silver Stevie® Award for “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2018 and 2019, Jessica facilitates sold-out workshops and speaks on the power of personal branding to corporations including Google, Salesforce, Virgin, Nike, Motorola, Red Bull, and Bank of America. After some unintentional podcast research - aka I have been listening to a lot of podcasts - I have decided to do more SOLO episodes. I really love talking to y’all from a personal level and it seems to come really naturally to me. My goals this year are to prioritize my mental health and to check myself when I start to burden my mind with negative self talk. As we all know, this is easier said than done. I have said this a million times, but we have to show up for ourselves before we can show up for others. This is the first of a series of episodes I am going to do where I share updates on my self-care regimen. Recording these are so therapeutic for me, and I hope you find them helpful as well! In this round, I share how I try to calm myself down, reframe my thinking during moments of heavy negativity, how important it is to literally schedule time for yourself and more. Most importantly, I want to mention that I have not mastered these tools yet. These are all things I am working on and striving to hold myself accountable for. I am giving myself love and becoming my biggest advocate, not my worst enemy.   This episode is brought to you by Mejuri. Matrix makes a Boho styling cream to let your hair air dry and it helps with frizz A TON and adds a little texture. :)
