Empowering women through the words of other women.

Isabel Zambujal is a mature woman with a young girl living inside. That may be one of the reasons why, after working in Advertising for many years, she developed a successful career as a writer for children. She is also one of my best friends; so this was a very open conversation about the POWER that lies in childhood, all the ways to loose it, the ways to keep it, and the secrets to grow it. It is also a talk about how children surprise us with their frankness and open-hearted wisdom, and how, as adults, we manage to learn how to be quiet not because of our alleged insolence but for our own protection. Thank you my dear Isabel. ..................................................................................................................   EMPOWERMENT RESOURCES: Isabel Zambujal: https://isabelzambujal.com/ Isabel Zambujal Books: https://www.wook.pt/autor/isabel-zambujal/16015 Womanity: https://womanity.world/ This podcast was recorded Dizplay Soundlab: https://www.dizplay.pt/
They are Julia Hummel and Jaz Levis, and they are the Co-Directors of a women international collective called the Ocean Sisters. They were driven by their passion for the ocean, but also because of their acknowledgement of how, even in sports like surf and body board, 'the guys were seen as the cool ones while the girls were just ... the girls in the bikinis'. Julia wanted to change that: she founded the Ocean Sisters and she brought Jaz in. They both come from different backgrounds, different professional paths; what united them was their complementarity and their purpose to unite women and empower them. We had a great talk with Jaz after their workshop in Senegal; unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Julia because of a bacteriae she brought along with her on their way back. But we know we will meet her soon: this is surely an organization we will keep in touch with (the team at Womanity is crazy to try some of their workshops!). Dear ladies, girls, gents and boys, here are the Ocean Sisters.
Are you a woman? Do you like money? We all do, don't we? And, yet, most of us, women, think we do not know how to handle it: we think of ourselves as unable to manage it, invest or simply, ask for it. Well ladies, that's something that was taught to us (like so many other limiting beliefs), so it is also something that we can get rid of.  Finanças no Feminino is the platform that can help you with that. Listen to our chat with one of the Founders - Inês Correia -, and learn all about it.
She studied civil engineering. After tasting what it was like to work in it, she decided she wanted to build something different: movies. She went to NYC, entered the New York Film Academy, after which she worked in Advertising as a Director and Film Producer. The 'maternity call' arrived and it brought a wish for stability: she entered a big corporation (Meo) to become a Production Consultant for nearly 10 years. The marketing of FOX and Disney came after that, and she loved it for 6 years. Now she is the Brand Global Unit Director at EDP. Catarina Barradas is this woman's name, her middle name is Change. This is a woman who believes change is good even when it feels bad. Enough reason for us to share her thoughts and words with you.
Together with her husband, she worked in a Bank in Madrid. Their life was like many lives of our time: a stressful, hectic one, few minutes to be spared with friends or family, a lot in traffic jams, too many at work. One day they said it was enough, decided to follow their passion and put their belongings in a car. They drove and drove until they found their place: an old tasca in Ericeira which they transformed in a cool place called La Popular. Cristina Álvarez is the woman we are talking about. Her story is a story of how change is a true possibility of making our lives better and purposeful.
'I am a talking machine', she says. Teresa Dimas tells the news at SIC Notícias. When she does it, she looks serious; but she doesn't take herself very seriously. Why is she the perfect guest to talk about DREAM? Because even though she has been a news reporter for more than 30 years, she still believes that her work contributes for a better world by protecting the most precious thing of all: freedom. ......................................................................... She sees everything. She watches everything and when she talks about what she has seen, she can be caustic, mordant, biting and utterly corrosive. Yet she does it with such a clever sense of humour that it is impossible not to listen to her podcast - Extremamente Desagradável - and her radio show. These are the reasons why Joana Marques has become one of the most popular Portuguese comediants and script writers for comedy.  .............................................................. If you say the name of Telma Monteiro to any Portuguese, whatever the age, you will see a huge smile opening on her or his face: Telma is the pride of us all. Telma has gathered more than 70 medals in Judo, be it in the Olimpics or European Competitions, she is the European Champion for the 6th time, and the first who has ever won 15 medals in Europe. She is competitive and she's got the Olympics tatooed on her skin; but what she recalls the most, more that those she has fought against, are the stories behind each and every medal. .................................................. She is the blast of the moment: 29 years-old, 142k followers on Ig (and growing), tons of interactions at each post, story, reel... and growing. Do not fool yourself, though: she is not an influencer, but THE Sexologist of the moment, something that makes her a rather much more interesting kind of 'influencer' for those who, like us, wish to help women to find and nurture their own, true power. Ladies and ladies, presenting the one and only Tânia Graça. ....................................................... Ana Markl is a radio presenter, a screenwriter, an author, a mother of a young boy, and a feminist. Pretty well known for her wittiness and dry sense of humour, she is a music lover and an extraordinary soul who call herself an overthinker. We talked about guilt, how it affects us, women, and how it disguises itself in so many different, and sometimes microscopic, ways. ....................................................... Sophie Picoto is a Clinical Psychologist, a Krav Maga instructor, and the Pink Belt Movement mentor. Prior to that, she worked for an association that helps women who were victims of domestic violence, did her Master and internship at Bordeaux in a hospital for suicidal teenagers, and helped children and youngsters with autism using animal assisted therapies. We talked about the importance of listening in her life, and the importance of listening as a bypass to reach our power and fully own it. .......................................................
