People wanting to feel like they did work to make a thing is a psychological reality that Ikea exploits intentionally: the assembly is made more complicated than it needs to be on purpose because, after people finish, they feel triumphant, and have more of a connection with the furniture than the shoddy materials deserve

Hearing Rachel and Griffin talk about 2016 being a weird year that lasted too long, as I sit here in the year 2021... never before have I talked back to podcasters so earnestly, trying to communicate through time just to remark upon the irony.
