Over a decade ago, Sarah started a blog called That Pommie Girl to help her in her job interviews, 10 years later she has over a million followers on Instagram and has built her brand SLA The Label to the point where it now turns over millions each year. Growing her business has taken a huge amount of resilience, but in this episode, we really delved into how that has helped her over the last few months when she’s been dealing with the break-up of her 7-year relationship. If you’re going through heartbreak right now, and you’re looking to fall in love with yourself again, you NEED to listen to this one. +SARAH'S LINKS:SLA: https://www.slathelabel.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sarahhashcroft/+MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+This podcast is sponsored by Skin & Me, a brand whose products have genuinely changed my life. Timm Chiusano is corporate America’s batman. By day he’s a VP at a Fortune 100 company, managing a team of over 200 people plus an 8 figure P & L. By night, he’s a TikTok star with over 1m followers and 50m likes. In many ways he’s the perfect guest - we spoke all about work advice from corporate america, his journey to VP with no degree. I don’t want to offend the other guests, but Will Ahmed might be the most impressive guest we’ve ever had on this podcast. Aged just 22, whilst still a student at Harvard, he founded Whoop, a wearable health tracker that measures the minutiae of your heart rate data to give you insights on your strain & recovery.10 years later, the company is worth $3.6 BILLION and Whoop is worn by athletes across the world, from LeBron James to Michael Phelps. Vivian Tu wants to change our relationship with finances forever, and her story is incredible. Vivian is a first-generation Asian American, who grafted her way to Wall Street, facing misogyny and racism on her way. She spent years on the trading floors, making the kind of money she always dreamed of, in an environment where she was one of only two women on her team. When she left finance & moved into a strategy role, she noticed she was always the go-to person for money-making questions, tax returns, investing, pensions. Becoming increasingly worried by the amount of dodgy information regarding finance online, she started making her own educational content under the handle ‘Your Rich BFF’. Now, she has over 6 million followers and a best-selling book to her name. She says her aim is to teach everyone the “lessons that rich dads have been teaching their rich sons on the golf course." I can’t wait to speak to Vivian about her story. + VIVIAN'S LINKS: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your.richbff/?hl=en TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@yourrichbff Vivian's book Rich AF: https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/456914/rich-af-by-tu-vivian/9780241644959 +MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+Download Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. When I started the podcast I wanted it to be all about life improvement from every angle, not just the ones we're all taught about. We've put so much effort into improving the guest episodes this year, but if I'm totally honest I felt the solo episodes needed re-vamping to make them the most useful resource possible. I LOVE explainer podcasts on everything from history to celebrity scandals. So we're trialling a new 15-minute explainer format. I’ve given myself an excuse to spend hours researching the topics I wish I knew more about so you don’t need to read a whole book to understand something important. So I've started with one of the most important things I've researched over the last few years: habit theory and why everyone on Instagram says it changed their life (including me).The episode is only 15 minutes long, so perfect for your morning hot girl walk! Let me know what you think!+READING LIST I owe a huge amount to the following habit theory researchers who make up the reading list below and whose work I researched for this episode! Dr Helen O’Neill is a leading expert in reproductive science, she’s a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics at University College London, she has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology. She is also the founder and CEO of Hertility Health, an award-winning bio-tech business specialising in fertility testing that has raised over £5 million since launch. Fertility is obviously a hugely sensitive topic, but it’s also one that we never talk about for exactly that reason. When I started this podcast, I wanted it to cover the important topics that we never get taught, and I learnt so so much from Helen that I really couldn’t believe I haven’t researched or known before. If you’re thinking about switching off right now because you find the idea of fertility testing terrifying like I do, I promise you it’s worth sticking it out and listening to this one. However, if you are someone who is currently struggling to conceive, or finds fertility conversations particularly hard, this is an episode to skip. Professor Steve Peters has more Olympic medals and world championships to his name than you can count, with accolades in sports from athletics to football, cycling and snooker. But here’s the catch, he hasn’t ever played these sports professionally. Instead, he’s the ‘brain mechanic’ behind the world’s most successful teams and individuals, from England Football to British Cycling. In fact, Snooker World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan credits Peters with his success.  His advice was incredible, and I can’t wait for you to listen to this one. It is an understatement to say that John Amaechi has had a career that has taken him places. Not only is he an Organisational Psychologist, an OBE, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, a Professor of Leadership, a non-executive director of an FTSE 250 company and the founder of organisational psychology consultancy APS. He was also, more surprisingly, the first Briton to play professional basketball in the NBA league, a move which saw him leave his hometown of Stockport for the world of professional basketball aged just 18. And whilst playing, he was the first NBA player to come out as gay. Never afraid to stand up and speak out, his book made me question a lot of things I thought I knew about myself and the way I live and work. Amaechi has spent years studying the world’s highest performers, in both the sporting and corporate world, and I’m so looking forward to everyone hearing his amazing techniques. Trigger warning: eating disordersI knew Alice Liveing's story was one full of twists and turns, but I did not expect to have such a frank conversation about the power we give 'social media stars' and the impact of toxic trends not just on viewers, but on the individuals perpetuating those trends. This episode is about Alice's journey to balance, but it's also about the warped reality of social media, and why we shouldn't be too harsh on ourselves about our past actions, something we all need a reminder of every so often. Ben Gallagher has built a multi-million-pound fashion business at the age of 23. You might not have heard of his name, but if you’re on TikTok, I can guarantee you’ll have seen his encyclopaedic videos on the fashion industry. Growing up in Formby near Liverpool, Ben recounts how he always wanted to keep up with his friends who had the latest designer pieces, but he couldn’t afford them. After seeing the discounts on pre-loved items, he and his brother started a consignment shop in Liverpool. Now, just 5 years later, Luxe Collective turns over millions each year and has just received investment from Steven Bartlett after they came out on top on Dragon’s Den. Last year they gained over 950k followers on Luxe Collective's social platforms, and I'm so grateful to Ben for sharing the secrets of their strategy.I really hope you enjoy listening.Download Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. In addition to these events, the astrophotography community also captured images of the Orion Nebula, the Worm Moon, and the Milky Way. The Orion Nebula, a stellar nursery, was beautifully rendered, revealing more detail than ever before https://orbitaltoday.com/2024/04/12/not-only-eclipse-last-week-in-best-astrophotos-5-12-april/ The Worm Moon, named for the earthworms that emerge as the ground softens with the onset of spring, was brilliantly illuminated1. The Milky Way was captured in all its splendor, reminding us of the vastness of our galaxy.
