Dr Helen O’Neill is a leading expert in reproductive science, she’s a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics at University College London, she has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology. She is also the founder and CEO of Hertility Health, an award-winning bio-tech business specialising in fertility testing that has raised over £5 million since launch. Fertility is obviously a hugely sensitive topic, but it’s also one that we never talk about for exactly that reason. When I started this podcast, I wanted it to cover the important topics that we never get taught, and I learnt so so much from Helen that I really couldn’t believe I haven’t researched or known before. If you’re thinking about switching off right now because you find the idea of fertility testing terrifying like I do, I promise you it’s worth sticking it out and listening to this one. However, if you are someone who is currently struggling to conceive, or finds fertility conversations particularly hard, this is an episode to skip. Professor Steve Peters has more Olympic medals and world championships to his name than you can count, with accolades in sports from athletics to football, cycling and snooker. But here’s the catch, he hasn’t ever played these sports professionally. Instead, he’s the ‘brain mechanic’ behind the world’s most successful teams and individuals, from England Football to British Cycling. In fact, Snooker World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan credits Peters with his success.  His advice was incredible, and I can’t wait for you to listen to this one. It is such an honour to have such impressive and intelligent people in my office for this podcast, so I hope you enjoy listening. The Chimp Paradox: https://chimpmanagement.com/books-by-professor-steve-peters/the-chimp-paradox/A Path Through The Jungle: https://chimpmanagement.com/books-by-professor-steve-peters/a-path-through-the-jungle/+Download Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. Katie Lopes is a woman with resilience. She’s the founder and creative director of sustainable underwear brand Stripe and Stare, but her journey to get there has been anything but smooth sailing. Katie has faced more than your average setbacks, and today she tells me about the tools she used to overcome £1.5 million in debt, a relationship breakdown and heartbreaking loss, and to come out the other side with a growing company and growing self-confidence. She says “I didn’t have the confidence in myself until life tested me and I had no choice.” Her story is incredible, and a real testament to the fact that sometimes you just have to put your “big girl pants on” and find your way through.+Follow me here: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/Shop Stripe & Stare here: https://stripeandstare.com/+SPONSORSDownload Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. It is an understatement to say that John Amaechi has had a career that has taken him places. Not only is he an Organisational Psychologist, an OBE, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, a Professor of Leadership, a non-executive director of an FTSE 250 company and the founder of organisational psychology consultancy APS. He was also, more surprisingly, the first Briton to play professional basketball in the NBA league, a move which saw him leave his hometown of Stockport for the world of professional basketball aged just 18. And whilst playing, he was the first NBA player to come out as gay. Never afraid to stand up and speak out, his book made me question a lot of things I thought I knew about myself and the way I live and work. Amaechi has spent years studying the world’s highest performers, in both the sporting and corporate world, and I’m so looking forward to everyone hearing his amazing techniques. I learnt so much in this chat and I’m sure you will too. Trigger warning: eating disordersI knew Alice Liveing's story was one full of twists and turns, but I did not expect to have such a frank conversation about the power we give 'social media stars' and the impact of toxic trends not just on viewers, but on the individuals perpetuating those trends. This episode is about Alice's journey to balance, but it's also about the warped reality of social media, and why we shouldn't be too harsh on ourselves about our past actions, something we all need a reminder of every so often. I hope you enjoy listening! Can we really have it all? Laura Jackson is a founder, a TV presenter, a side hustler and a mother of three. So today's episode is all about balance, the 'working mother paradox', and finding joy in the chaos. Laura was also so open about her tough experience with ante-natal depression, I can't thank her enough for being so raw and honest. Ben Gallagher has built a multi-million-pound fashion business at the age of 23. You might not have heard of his name, but if you’re on TikTok, I can guarantee you’ll have seen his encyclopaedic videos on the fashion industry. Growing up in Formby near Liverpool, Ben recounts how he always wanted to keep up with his friends who had the latest designer pieces, but he couldn’t afford them. After seeing the discounts on pre-loved items, he and his brother started a consignment shop in Liverpool. Now, just 5 years later, Luxe Collective turns over millions each year and has just received investment from Steven Bartlett after they came out on top on Dragon’s Den. Last year they gained over 950k followers on Luxe Collective's social platforms, and I'm so grateful to Ben for sharing the secrets of their strategy.I really hope you enjoy listening.Download Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. Today's episode of Working Hard, Hardly Working is one of our most highly requested solo episodes: it's all about how to be a better manager.Management truly is one of the most important skills to have in the workplace, but most of us are never taught how to do it.I find it so strange that it's one of those skills we're expected to just 'pick up' even though it's not a skill the majority of people specialise in when entering their careers, and it often doesn't come as second nature (it certainly didn't to me!). Plus, it's categorically the most important skill for career progression.I hope you find this episode helpful and enjoy listening!Download Revolut for free and get £20 when you use your card! www.revolut.com/graceCashback subject to availability. TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains content about suicide. Jason Fox spent 20 years in the special forces, carrying out perilous missions in the most remote & harsh environments. But it's when he left the military after being diagnosed with PTSD that his story really took a turn. Now a staple on our screens on SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason has used his platform to speak openly about his mental health struggles and how he manages them. This was such a fascinating conversation, and I can't thank Jason enough for being so vulnerable. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it. Hosted on Acast. Michelle Elman is a woman with a psychology empire. Her qualifications speak for themselves: she’s a five-board accredited life coach, a Master Practitioner, a Master Hypnotherapist and a psychologist, plus she’s published four bestselling books. But these accolades are more than just a job for Michelle. They’re personal. She faced serious health challenges throughout her childhood, having to endure 15 surgeries, followed by periods of intense self-doubt and low body confidence due to her many scars. Aged just 21, she began her campaign ‘Scarred not Scared’, advocating for body confidence, and sharing her story with the world. Now, she spends her days coaching others on the importance of self-love, boundaries and acceptance. I’m so excited to share her wisdom with you in this episode. Hosted on Acast.
