Wanda is currently running for the Colorado University Board of Regents, which is responsible for overseeing a budget of $5.2 billion. Learn more about her platform here: wanda4cu.com   While Wanda is an extremely empowering force, we don't want to under-emphasize what we discuss about the criminal legal system, slave labor, and the impact of the drug war on predominantly Black communities. As Wanda mentions on this episode, "the dispensary is a means to an end" for the historical, disproportionate incarceration of Black bodies due to cannabis. Taking risks and being the first can be exhausting, trying, and anxiety-provoking, but we dive deep into how we have power to choose the narrative for our lives. This episode’s title really resonates with the way that we envision this podcast growing and evolving as we touch on subjects we never have before. Somehow we fit tattooing, the Marine Corps, and Black womanhood into one conversation, diving into the critical stages in our lives that allowed us to cultivate persistent work ethics, solidify our mental fortitude, and learn to be confident in freely expressing ourselves. This week, I invited my dear buddy Noha to chat.
