Genesis Lesson 13 Chapter 16 - The God Who See's Me In lesson 12, Abram is promised a son. He was 75 years old Sari 65 years old. They dwelt in Cannan for 10 years trying and waiting for Sarah to become pregnant but nothing happens. They both start to wonder what's going on. Lord, we are getting pretty old here! Hagar and Ishmael 16 Now Sari, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar; 2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her."Abram agreed to what Sari said. 3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sari his wife took her Egyptian slave Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. 4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. This chapter now takes a twist and is focused on Hagar. She is like many of us going in the opposite direction from God. She is a picture of how we all try to run away from problems and how we were lost spiritually but God finds us.Verse 13 is key as she says 13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen[c] the One who sees me."
God revealed Himself as the "I AM." That name by which God actually revealed Himself to the nation Israel as the God who becomes whatever your need might be."You don't have to worry whether or not you have your shield, Abraham. I am thy shield. I am your defense. I will protect you. We also face the same fear, doubt and insecurities in life that Abram did. We have to make daily choices to trust in God or ourselves. God gives Abram a promise and a vision in a dream. This is a prophecy, which is a promise of future events, and then it happens. Abram gets tired trying to complete this covenant. It is a picture to us that we cannot be perfect in our own strength. Just like he gave us the Ten Commandments to show us we cannot keep them and we need a redeemer.
Abraham Sarah are excellent teacher in the school of faith. We as Christians are all enrolled in the school of faith. Despite our slips, trips and falls in our walk of faith, we know we can still put our faith in God. We see his faith was a steady growing and moving in the right direction. Are we moving closer to the Lord?
Abram was called by God, but he also had a choice to follow that calling. Abram comes up out of Egypt a wiser and more spiritual man. Faith is a growing process, and is often called, walking with God. We will now see the separation of Abram and Lot. We will see the difference between Abram being spiritual focused and Lot being a man focused on the things of the world.
Chapter 12, Abraham continues his walk of faith. Abraham is the most well-known man in the religious world. He is the father of faith for Christians, Catholics, Jewish, and Muslim people. Abraham is mentioned 75 times in the New Testament. All of these promises God fulfilled to Abraham. He made of him a great nation. God has blessed Abrahams faith and made the name of Abraham great. And from that is the promise that the Messiah would come from Abraham. He is the only person in the bible referred to as Gods friend. God will appear to him 7 times and each visit he adds to this promise.
Nimrod became a leader in apostasy, developer of a great religious system later to become known as the Babylonian religious system or the "mystery Babylon".
And as we get into chapter ten, this chapter has been called the "Table of Nations". And here you have the beginning of all of the various nations of the world, the various ethnic groups with these sons of Noah. "
God knows exactly WHERE we are on the path of life God tests our patience to mature us. After the flood He establishes the Noahic Covenant So God established a new covenant, not predicated upon man's faithfulness but predicated now upon God's faithfulness. God's promise, the rainbow is the sign of God's promise that the earth will not again be destroyed by a flood. He tells Noah three things: populate the earth, new diet includes meat, and establishes basic government with respect of life.

There is salvation message in the names of Adam to Noahs genealogy.
The first thing that Satan does is he questions the Word of God. Satan is constantly seeking to create a question. Did God really say? Is that really God's word? And look at the attacks that Satan has brought against the Bible. Satan entered the serpent, a real creature, for the purpose of deceiving Eve. The tempter used his craftiness to cause them to sin. God permitted Adam and Eve to be tested, but He certainly did not encourage them to sin or force them to sin. They could have resisted the temptation if they so desired. Ultimately it was their fault for not resisting the temptation.
In the beginning God." When was that? How long ago was that? Our minds cannot even or grasp IT. Many people cannot accept this. They believe that science proves otherwise. The bible is not a science book. However when science is applied it proves the bible
