Description

We were told there are rules and expectations that the world has for us. Somebody told us about “us” and who we are supposed to be. We got that degree, that certification, that promotion, but what about “us”—our gifts, talents, uniqueness, passions?

Created and hosted by the venerable Rebecca Fleetwood Hession, Write Your OWN Story offers insights from her coaching and her book Write Your OWN Story, Three Keys to Rise and Thrive. She gives listeners structure and ideas that they can take and make their own path. The show features personal accounts from Rebecca and interviews with guests focused on stories—the human side of business; money—richer, intentional conversations around this necessary commodity; and rhythm—living in the emotional flow of life and work.

Every episode is designed to inspire, empower, and excite listeners to create their own life and career of thriving. The most courageous thing we can do is to connect, especially with ourselves. New episodes every week. Follow along wherever you get your audio.

Wendy Noe Executive Director of Dove Recovery House for Women has been a part of the Rise and Thrive Indianapolis experience.  She talks about the impact the last 7 months has had on her, her business and her family.  Wendy and the rest of the women will be on stage at The Cabaret sharing their stories in a TED like talk.  We'll have food, drinks and live music to celebrate Women's Month!     Buy Your Ticket!  Event is March 5th!    Consider next year's Rise & Thrive experience starting in September 2020
I met Kerry Rossow in 2014 when we did a Listen to Your Mother show in Indianapolis.  We had written orginal pieces and been chosen to read them in a beautiful theater to a loving crowd on Mother's Day weekend.  How amazing that I'm not hosting my own Stand Tall in Your Story show on March 5th in a beautiful theater for the women of Rise and Thrive Indianapolis to share their stories.  AND, Kerry went on to found a show,The She Said Project.  Some of us are just meant to write and tell our stories.  Kerry and I are sisters in stories.  The day I met her I wanted her to be my sister or my neighbor or somehow in my life!   You'll love this one, try not to spit out your coffee, she's a funny one!

This is the audio from a keynote I did for Linking Indy Women in Indianapolis.  Over 100 amazing career women came early on January 15th to The Hatch co-working space to build community and hear about THRIVING!  Because this was a keynote, there are slides visual slides referenced.  Striving vs Thriving 1. We're all a little afraid  2. Our uniqueness is our superpower 3. Nobody thrives alone.  www.wethrive.live  www.badasswomenscouncil.community  www.dreamthedecade.com  I'd love to keynote your next conference!  rebecca@wethrive.live  Rebecca on LinkedIn
Jenny Tod has two businesses and a rich life outside of work as a wife and mom to a toddler.... and she's thriving.  Jenny is a marketer, designer doing brand and marketing work with Jenny Tod Creative.  She also is a co-founder of a coffee shop, Indie Coffee Roasters located in Carmel, Indiana.   Oh, and she's a wife and mom to a toddler!  She chose a life that caterers to her unique gifts and talents and allows the margin she needs to invest in personal pursuits and relationships.  Jenny is a great example of living life "intentionally". This is thriving!  She's building a story and a life holistically.   "There's a big difference in falling in bed at night exhausted from striving versus falling into bed exhausted from thriving. " Rebecca Fleetwood Hession Jenny has worked for agencies and other businesses and learned so much about herself and her craft.  Key Takeaway: She didn't have to do it all as a business owner, she could bring on people that complimented her gifts and talents. She knows what she's good at and what others need to do for the business to be successful.  Even outsourcing cleaning her house allows her to be a better mom and business owner!  Key Takeaway: Don't rob someone else the joy of helping! This is how we bless each other!  Learn to accept help as a gift not a weakness.  Key Takeaway: Self Care isn't just a buzz word, it's critical to our ability to perform in all the roles of our lives.  Key Takeaway: Showcasing our passions and our work for our kids is important.
