May 2022 - June 101

2022-05-0704:39

XRadio brings you summer a month early with the XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for May 2022; UK-based emerging indie/alt-rock artist June 101. Their first single, Seven Days, was released in January and is only the beginning for this emerging artist! June 101 has over twenty years of experience in music production, which certainly left an impact on writing and recording bedroom ideas into expressive music. No guidelines. No rules. Just music. What makes it even more interesting is his reluctance to reveal any information about himself. He owns his own small studio in which all the recording and production takes place. After successfully releasing their first single Seven Days in January 2022; a second single, Anger, was released last month. Both songs are part of the upcoming debut album “1:01” and both also were released with a music video on YouTube. All singles and the album will be released on all major streaming platforms. February 2022 - Tin:Ma

February 2022 - Tin:Ma

2022-02-0503:56

XRadio is happy to present to you the XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for February 2022, French-Canadian non-binary artist, Tin:Ma. Materializing from online spheres, Tin:Ma continues to subvert conventional genre practices. On New-Year’s Eve 2021, Tin:Ma released their EP Move which has been gaining some attention and has been described as “sucking you in, spitting you out and leaving you naked. Intense and not for the faint of heart, yet incredibly tender and beautiful.” [3Fach]. XRadio will be playing "My Love's Gone" from that EP in high rotation through the month of February. The pandemic has been extremely difficult for Tin:Ma. In 2020, the artist lost their apartment and all their sources of income. Leaving behind their home, friends, and beloved city, they were forced to move to rural Canada where they have remained mostly isolated throughout the pandemic. Seeking to reject the inertness brought about by the isolation, the sadness they experience having to leave their home, and the crippling uncertainty of emerging artists in the post-COVID world, Tin:Ma began putting everything they had into this project. With no support or funding, Move is the coming together of artists—young Queer individuals—who are actively defying the inertness that has been placed on the arts by this pandemic. Tin:Ma“It really felt like I had lost everything, I felt so helpless and lost. I thought my artistic voice would support me through the pandemic, but it didn’t. A lot of artists were left behind […] Move really helped me overcome that and forced me to continue to move forward: I could now embrace the cluster of emotions, of states, I had experienced.” FOLLOW TIN:MA LinkTree - https://linktr.ee/tinma Apple Music - https://music.apple.com/us/artist/tin-ma/1569756579 Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/tin_ma Bandcamp - https://tinma.bandcamp.com Twitter - https://twitter.com/tinmamux

The XRadio Featured Artists of the Month for January is Everafter!  This UK rock band burst onto the East London scene in Autumn 2010, as brothers Alexis Daperis (lead vocals/guitars) and Stefan Daperis (bass/backing vocals) teamed with their friend Tim Wiltshire (drums) launched the three-piece power rock group, Everafter. By February 2011 the first gig was booked at The White Hart Hotel in New Cross, South London. Over the next few years Everafter honed their live performances by playing key venues in London, including Water Rats in King's Cross, The Half Moon in Putney and The Standard Music Venue in Walthamstow. In September 2013, the band were signed to independent label Hummdrumm Records. The band’s main influences include Nirvana, Metallica and Green Day. “Everything Is One” also benefited from the production prowess of the Grammy-nominated Chris Tsangarides, an Everafter fan that produced the likes of Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Following the release of the band’s first album and a succession of gigs, Everafter played a show to the inmates inside Wormwood Scrubs prison, London. In Spring 2019, with new drummer and friend Ivan Sheppard, Everafter completed their second album: “Remember”. The band moved into a heavier direction with the latest studio recordings and the album showcases the strength and diversity of the band’s song writing. This time Everafter collaborated with producers Raz Olsher, Andrea Gottardo and the late Chris Tsangarides to create a powerful ten track album, paving the way for the band’s place in rock history. Over the last year they have been incorporating the new songs into their set and getting airplay on TotalRock Radio and Trust The Doc Radio Show on Exile FM. XRadio is proud to bring you The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara – XRadio’s Featured Artists of the Month for October 2020! The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara (TCOMAS) are a London-based duo formed in late 2019 by Andrea Papi and Daphne Ang. Inspired by the musical innovations of Kraftwerk and TOOL and the poetry of Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf and Jim Morrison. TCOMAS continues to fill a gap in music by bringing together music, literature, art and history into a space where poetry and the spoken word meets electronic and rock. The London duo have carved out a niche in music with their extensive, mysterious and atmospheric soundscapes which defy the rigid categorization of musical genres. In particular, the pair incorporates the literary (poetic and dramatic) into their music whereby spoken passages alternated with lyrical poetry forms the central element of the vocal component. Their experimental style has been recognized by several notable music blogs. The Chronicles of Manimal and SamaraWe are The Chronicles of Manimal and Samara – a London based duo. Our upcoming release (16 October 2020), “Mata Hari” (meaning “sun” in Malay) reimagines the sound of the ‘80s in the year 2080. The song is told through the eyes of an artist, who creates a painting as a declaration of love and as a testament to the intensity of emotions and feelings (for another) when words and action were inadequate. The track has been inspired by synthesizer maestro Giorgio Moroder and innovators like Depeche Mode, Stanley Kubrick, and Air. Monotronic – XRadio Featured Artist of the Month [April 2022] The XRadio Featured Artist of the Month for April 2022 is the American indietronic group, Monotronic. Hailing from New York City, Monotronic has been buzzing around the internet with their hit single, Kids of Summer. Since emerging in 2016, Monotronic have maintained their status as a ponderous and provocative enigma. Conceived by guitarist/producer Ramsey Elkholy, Monotronic started as a loose collective of NYC-based musicians. The rotating cast of musicians have shared the stage and recorded with the likes of Joe Jackson, Robert Randolph, Elliot Moss, The Spin Doctors and Dweezil Zappa, to name a few. The Monotronic sound is a combination of electronic music with a wide range of cultural influences, mostly drawn from Elkholy’s time spent in Calcutta studying Indian classical music and his travels throughout Southeast Asia, where he spent nearly two years in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia among the Orang Rimba tribe. He describes Monotronic as “a concept, whereby each instrument can be heard as a continuation of the other and the music sounds as one distinct whole, emanating from a single source”. Along with performing at iconic venues up and down the East Coast and New York City, the band has also graced the bills of festivals such as Disc Jam and Meeting of the Minds.
