Truth And Vibration

Truth And Vibration

2018-10-2102:121

I produced and recorded this while in my Yoga Teacher Training. Once in a while, I pull it up to take me to that place of "Truth And Vibration". So, I figured I'd share it. Thanks for listening, Andrew
Life is funny, and things just happen. Now, really, things just happen when the intention and attention are laser sharp. This is the story of how I went from teaching ESL and delivering pizzas, to teaching yoga full-time and buying my first studio. I have reinvented myself like 7 times, and I say that smiling, because the greatest wealth is happiness and no regrets. I cannot tell anyone what to do, or how to live their lives, but I can say that happiness and health are by far the greatest sources of wealth. I would put love in there too, but I would think that is a given. This clip was taken from my friend Amanda Kingsmith's podcast, Master The Business Of Yoga. You can hear the whole episode below: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/yoga-studio-owner-turned-podcast-host-with-andrew-gordon/id1080414887?i=1000403862571&mt=2 It's always fun to be the guest and answer the questions!
This interview first aired in February as part of The Yoga Moves You Podcast. Alyshia was cool enough to come on the show when we were not on the map...at all. However, that's who she is. She is a great human being, and very down to earth. I gather that is rare in the world of Hollywood. Alyshia has made a career for the last 15 years in some things you may have seen, and some maybe not. Through it all, she has used yoga and meditation to help her stay grounded and unleash her creativity. She is not only an actress, but an author and podcast host of, "That One Audition". Think, "Inside The Actor's Studio" for civilians. I love it, and actually have spent the last 8 months editing the show. After this interview, it turns out that she was looking to fill that role, and I was in the right place at the right time. Make sure you listen all the way through, especially to her own hilarious audition story! I guarantee you will laugh out loud. alyshiaochse.com Thank you to our new sponsor, Wellness Living Fitness Software. WellnessLiving is trusted by thousands of businesses and over 5 million users. Its always harder to move slower in a yoga class, but why? How about in life?

Yay! Our good friend, Erin Ward is back on the show. This is the first time she has been on in over 6 months. Erin was a huge supporter and regular guest during our first season. She appeared weekly for Excavating with Erin, where we dissected a blog off of erinrward.com Lots of catching up to do! (Classic Erin, on the phone, windows open, blinkers blinking...but she gets a bus pass 😊)
Bridgetta Tomarchio has lived a very interesting life. Some of it has been great, other times have been horrific, but certainly has not lacked in substance. Bottom line, she is still standing, and here to talk about it. Like myself, she has had to reinvent herself a number of times. I love her resilience and her ability to fight-when it seemed like the world was stacked against her. I love this interview, and it is one of the only two part interviews I have ever done. Trust me, it warrants the time. Thank you Bridgetta www.bridgetta.com

Right On Cue

Right On Cue

If you are in the yoga business, you know that once the veil is lifted, it can get pretty ugly. I knew as soon as we cracked the charts, and our podcast took off, the hate would come in. I also knew who it would come from. It was expected that some of the shows who were on top would find excuses and then criticize our show to validate their own shortcomings. So, without further adieu, everything is On Cue. Feed me the fuel, I live for this.
We aired this and put out a press release under, "The Yoga Moves You Podcast", on Dec. 24, 2017. May 22nd, 2018, ESPN does their own 30/30 podcast on Bikram...just saying. Link to the press release here: https://www.prlog.org/12683528-from-bikram-boss-to-leader-of-love.html Nicole Duke gives us an inside look at one of Bikram's giant teacher trainings, what it's like to own a Bikram studio, and the enormous challenges of running a business with his rigid rules. It really is scary how much he abused his position of power. I understand many people in power do it, and that doesn't make me happy at all. However, from a yoga perspective, this makes me even more upset. Nicole is a very giving guest, and shares her story that is eye-opening and at times, horrible. In the end, she stayed strong, learn some valuable lessons, and offers a great story of empowerment! @nicduke nicoleduke.com Have you submitted your music yet? We are choosing two lucky people to have their music be the opening and closing of our show. Find out more at podcastpanacea.com @thepodcastpanacea @yogatalkpod

Don't get me wrong, I love Gary Vee. I have read both of his books and have learned so much. I get him, and we both are from the NY metro area-and are...(sadly) Jets fans. I love to hustle and work hard. However, not everyone was given the reigns of the family business after livng the hard life at Mount Ida College in the ghettos of Newton, Mass.(there are no ghettos there)worth $3 million when he jumped on. He talks of the "enormous freedom" with an ad budget given to him by his father. That isn't exactly self-made. Now, let me say, I am not knocking him for maximizing his opportunity-but don't make it something it's not. I think some of the things he says and street preaches(to high school kids)are irresponsible and dangerous for adults with real responsibilities. That may be why I never see him speaking with droves of people taking selfies above the age of 20. Again, this is said with respect, but I just want to give another perspective on making it, working hard, and doing it without screaming at people to hustle ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!! Dude, do some yoga/meditate/take one less Adderall?*disclaimer-don't know if he takes Addreall, but seems to exhibit the mania of someone on amphetamines. Deep breath, and listen. I love Erin! She came on the show as an early adopter, and had just move from NYC to LA at the time of this episode(February of 2018). It happened to be her birthday, so I made her a song. Erin started writing blogs on her website, www.erinroseward.com, and I asked her if we could turn them into a weekly feature. She agreed, and that became, "Excavating With Erin". We took a break for a bit while she built her career even bigger out in Hollyweird. However, it is so gratifying that we will be uniting on Tuesday, 10/16/18, for our first show in a long time! Yay! Music for the parody is, "Forgot About Dre", originally performed by Eminem, and produced by Dr. Dre and Mel Man. I am still looking for original, royalty-free music to be used on the regular for our show intros/outros. For more info how to submit yours, go to podcastpanacea.com
Peter Sizemore is a Rockstar! Nuff' Said...Enjoy this bit from our first season.
