In this episode, we consider the 2nd chapter from Yancey's very concise book about the church & its importance in the life of a Christian. Yancey uses his creative/thoughtful skills to suggest 7 updated images for the church, in an attempt to answer the question, What did God envision for the church?
Our second look at Yancey's 1989 book, I Was Just Wondering. Part 1 of this work focuses on what Yancey calls the 'Human Animal.' We consider the last 4 chapters/articles from this section, highlighting dirty jokes, mid-life crises, and the problem with pleasure...all with a view towards God & our unique place in His world.
In this YRWY episode, we take a break from our two-book rotation to consider an out of print title, called After the Wedding. It was Yancey's first book-length publication (from 1976)...when he was still in his 20s!
