Welcome to ToTsFrishion, a community of hope and resilience. On this, episode, we share Ebonie's cancer journey, and here's what she has to say ----"From a young age, I have faced a series of diagnoses that profoundly shaped my path. At age nine, I experienced precocious puberty, which is when my menstrual cycle begins before the age of ten. Then, at thirteen, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and began to have ovarian cysts by high school; by nineteen, it was endometriosis; at thirty-three, Lupus; and at forty-one, breast cancer, though its presence was felt long before. Over time, I faced eight diagnoses, each adding complexity to my life’s tapestry. These challenges, from girlhood to womanhood, left me grappling with dysfunction, hidden struggles, deep-seated anger, and silent frustration. I longed for normalcy, mistakenly believing it was the reality for all other young girls and women. I've since realized the inaccuracy and trap of that mindset, understanding that many others suffer silently in the web of shame, loneliness, and isolation." "Triple Negative Breast Cancer has reshaped my life. Genetic testing led to preventive measures, including a full hysterectomy that initiated surgical menopause. Despite a normal mammogram, I was later diagnosed, beginning an intense journey through chemo, a double mastectomy, and breast reconstruction. The experience fortified my family and my resolve to advocate for early detection, genetic testing, and support for underserved communities. Now in remission, I serve on boards, lead awareness campaigns, and share my story to inspire others to fight for their health and futures."

" When life gives us Lemons, we are encouraged to make lemonades."
Lucy was diagnosed with three types of cancer --- Breast, colon, and liver. Despite the overwhelming challenges, she chose to face her diagnosis with courage and resilience. Instead of succumbing to despair, Lucy transformed her lemons into a powerful source of inspiration while undergoing cancer treatment. Through her unwavering faith in God, she triumphed over the obstacles, and today is cancer-free.
After facing her own challenges, she found inspiration to collaborate on launching a nonprofit support organization called "Generation of Warriors." The group focuses on supporting individuals affected by cancer, domestic violence, suicide, drugs, and alcohol. Pastor Anita Medina, a breast cancer survivor, initiated the group, with Lucy taking on the role of event coordinator.

To wrap up "You Have a Story with ToTsFrishion," 2023, we engaged in a special conversation with a Grief Coach: How To Grieve God's Way with a focus on cancer.
Theresa Hammond, a Grief coach dedicated to empowering those grieving the loss of a loved one, dissected the word grief, its stages, and how it relates to cancer.
We discussed what it means to Grieve God's way and how to navigate anticipatory grief, especially after a cancer diagnosis.
Through Theresa's company, A Friend for All Seasons, she seeks to nurture hope, promote healing, and help people embrace life/meaning after loss. As a Grief Coach, she intends to accompany grievers with care and empathy, fostering therapeutic communication to help them discover light even in their darkest times.

A brief summary of Dr. Gwamna's breast cancer story,
"I was diagnosed with TNBC in April 2022, and yes, Triple Negative Breast Cancer is a terrible illness controlled by a terrifying terrorist, aka FEAR. After my diagnosis and all through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, I lost and regained my self-dignity through a combination of genuine care from my medical team, incredible support from friends, family, and total strangers, and, above all, by a special gift from God of an uncanny ability to poke fun at the various debilitating stages of horrible side effects. My sense of humor strengthened my resolve all through this first year, culminating in a remission as at my last check-up."

Specific stories have a plot twist, and Angie's story is no exception!
Here is a summary of Angie's story: "My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on the 4th of July & given 4-6 months to live. He was an ex-smoker, heavy drinker, retired firefighter & a very strong man with an even stronger personality! He went through chemo and immunotherapy and only had some skin rashes but tolerated the treatments well. Many events occurred between his diagnosis and death, but the most eventful was when he called his best friend and told him he had found Jesus! After his confession, he decided to go into hospice because his lungs were so bad he had difficulty eating. He went to be with Jesus about 2 days later, on Nov 9, 2021, and my mom was able to be in the room holding his hand and telling him it was okay and to “go with Jesus.”

On this episode, I was privileged to chat with my sister, who shared her cancer story.
Here's what she has to say - "When I was 5, my mom died of Leukemia. During this process, there was a lot of suppression, unacceptance, anger, and all the stages of grief. But with time, I was able to heal and gain some understanding of how to move forward with this loss in my life. Although it was hard, the pain eventually became bearable, which is why I am able to share my story with you today." - Anjola.

Welcome to You Have a Story Podcast. My name is Iyanu, and I will not only be your host for this podcast, but I will be sharing the vision of You Have A Story on this episode. This campaign is an extension of the brand ToTsFrishion, which provides luxury bags and creates communities for people all over the world.
