We celebrate Halloween 2025 with our review of the ONE HUNDREDTH episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark, The Tale of the Darkhouse! AYAOTD expert Bryce and Mallory (the fiancé) join Eli and David to talk Halloween movie recommendations, justice for SarDO, and whether or not Curse of the Shadows lives up to the Are You Afraid of the Dark name. Plus, our traditional Fraidy awards for Season 9 of AYAOTD!
David, Eli, and friend of the show Bryce look at the penultimate episode of Curse of the Shadows! Is this the darkest episode in show history? What will become of our new Midnight Society? And who was the real fifth Beatle? All these questions and more will be answered in The Tale of the Midnight Magic!
We enter the second half of AYAOTD: Curse of the Shadows with the Tale of the Danse Macabre! Friend of the show Dr. Blair Abell-Kiser sits down with us as we check out the glow dance, a magic show, and maaaaaybe a drug deal? It's an episode that really has everything!
We reach the halfway point of AYAOTD: Curse of the Shadows with the Tale of the Phantom Light! The lore in this episode comes hard and fast, like a natural high. Plus, we talk ghosts, lighthouses, and fake 90's heartthrobs.
Eli, David, and special guest Mallory explore episode two of Curse of the Shadows! Kids are scared, revelations are made, and pants may or may not be pooped.
The hiatus is officially over. We dive head-first into Are You Afraid of the Dark: Curse of the Shadows, as it challenges everything we know about AYAOTD! Plus, David has some big announcements.
We hath risen.
In honor of 4/20, we watch Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, the classic cartoon crossover that convinced a generation that drugs were cooler than the Smurfs and Winnie the Pooh. Also featuring George H. W. Bush and a big bag of cr*ck! (Can we say that here?)
We also talk about plans for our new season.

We've reached the end of the Are You Afraid of the Dark revival, and with it, the end of our podcast. This week, we review Destroy All Tophats, the SHOCKING conclusion of of this new trilogy. It's batshit crazy, but can it stick the landing? Plus, we talk about Lassie and speculate on where we go from here.

This week, we take a trip to the Carnival of Doom for Part 2 of the AYAOTD revival, "Opening Night!" There are plenty of scares this week, PLUS Eli shares some OG Midnight Society backstory/slash fiction, we DEMAND a Zeebo Halloween mask, and we read off the (hopefully) final bit of Nick News.
Buy your own Zeebo mask! It does exist!

For the first time, we review a BRAND NEW episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark! But does it manage to recapture the magic of the original? Tune in to find out! (But the answer is FUCK YEAH, it does.)

Well we had to review this one, right? In this bonus episode, Eli, David, and scary storyteller John Brhel review Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark! And despite it being right there in the title, for a movie aimed at middle schoolers, it is shockingly scary, violent, and...political? Plus, we make some boner jokes and wonder if this movie needed more Nixon.

After three years of waiting, Eli and David shake off the cobwebs to review the triumphant return of Rocko's Modern Life! And there's plenty to discuss, from the episode's surprisingly deep philosophy to the insane number of inside gags hidden in the special. Plus we announce our plans for rest of 2019!
Thank you to everyone who has continued listening during our long, long hiatus.

In the final episode of 2018, Eli and David tackle the second half of Nickelodeon's insane, drug-induced coma of a movie, Cry Baby Lane. HOW do ghosts work in this movie? WHAT is "CHI-CHI" and why do a group of girls threaten our young male protagonist with it? And did HANS ZIMMER STEAL FROM THIS MOVIE? If you're ready to find out, click play.
Thank you to everyone for your support in 2018. It was a huge year for the podcast, and we couldn't have done it without all of you. We can't say for sure when the show will return, but stay tuned to our social media pages to find out.

Scary Christmas to all! We cap off 2018 with a review of the infamous "lost" Nickelodeon horror movie, CRY BABY LANE. Was it really too scary for Nickelodeon? Does it live up to the hype? Either way, this is one of the weirdest things we'll ever review for the show, so strap in.
Part 2 will drop on New Year's Eve 2018!

Time to put out the campfire. In this, our series finale (for now), Eli and David look back on the best and worst of the entire series of Are You Afraid of the Dark. We leave no stone unturned, tackling everything from episode titles to monsters to bad line readings and our favorite moments of nonsense on the show. We also name our all-time best and worst episodes of AYAOTD and name the one true Midnight Society MVP. Lists are made, tears are shed, and we finally answer the question, once and for all: Were we scared of this?
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past three years. It has meant everything to us to know people have actually enjoyed the 45 minutes of Nickelodeon-themed stupidity we provide every week. We love you.
NOTE: This is the shorter version of the Final Fradies. If you want a long, slightly sloppier, more in-depth version of this episode, you can check out the Director's Cut of the Final Fradies here: https://soundcloud.com/youscaredofthis/the-final-fradies-series-finale

In our final bonus episode for the time being, we check out Nickelodeon's OTHER attempt at a horror anthology show, and we get way more than we bargain for. Eli also advertises his bullying school, and STONE COLD, STONE COLD, STONE COLD.

We reflect on AYAOTD's surprisingly great final season, going through our usual roundup of the best, the worst, and the most memorable things about Season 7. We also say our goodbyes to the Nu Batch (Midnight Society 2.0), and Eli offers up the longest Nick News segment in show history.

After nearly three years, we reach the end of our long journey: the series finale of Are You Afraid of the Dark. Fortunately we go out on a high note with The Tale of the Night Nurse, an episode light on narrative sense but big on scares (and MURDER). Plus, we talk about John Cena's penis, speculate on how Gramps got this acting gig, and Eli reveals his metal band.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this show over the years. We'll have a few more episodes of the podcast before we call it a wrap on Are You Afraid of the Dark, so stay tuned.

We inch ever closer to the end of AYAOTD with The Tale of Many Faces, an episode equal parts goofy fashion montage and nightmare fuel. We also talk Smash Bros. and Fortnite and ponder the Nickelodeon Adults Choice Awards.
