In keeping with our spooky season theme... what if the actual ground you live on was trying to kill you? This week, we take a look at the Superfund Site of Picher, Oklahoma. This is such a massive head-scratcher with so many unanswered "why's". The people affected by this site and the tribe that purchased it back deserve to have answers as to when it will be cleaned up and taken care of. Is the water clean now? Will people get cancer simply by living there? So many questions.

Today, we're taking a look at what the heck is going on in Logan County... At first glance, it is just your garden variety police raid, but upon further investigation it appears that there is a large drug trafficking ring led by a convicted murderer who currently sits in the Oklahoma prison system. We've already become acquainted with this "shot-caller" through his murder of innocent teacher Rick Patterson back in 1985, what other nonsense is he up to? Let's find out.

Friends, keep sending us your local gossip, small town drama, etc, because it obviously leads back to a drug Kingpin who has issued death warrants for about 12 people. Let's keep it classy, Oklahoma.
So many people died around this woman... yet no one suspected anything foul. That is, until a Tulsa policeman thought maybe something was off. Join us for this rollercoaster ride. It's an oldie, but totally relevant to today's online dating world. Be careful out there, y'all.

It's Fall, y'all. Which means it is time to get witchy and spooky and Fall-y here in Oklahoma. Did you know that Oklahoma is the site of the last witch killings recorded in the US? This is a story that very few people know. Shanna happened across an old newspaper from the turn of the 20th century and found quite the tale.
Cue the horns, pomp and circumstance...Join us as we celebrate our 50th episode released last week and hitting 20,000 downloads. The Bodies of Jenna Scott and Michael Swearingin are found in a shallow grave in extremely rural Oklahoma. They're found based on statements from one of the witnesses to their murder... These aren't even the crazy parts of this story. This story takes twists and turns and involves so many people that it is insane.
Join Chi and Shanna this week as we discuss the murders of Jenna Scott & Michael Swearingin and other crimes that are attached to this case, it is jaw-dropping and so so sad.

The Jamison family from Eufaula, Oklahoma, was just a normal Oklahoma family: Mom, Dad, & 6 year old daughter. The circumstances that surround their disappearance in 2009 bring more questions than answers. Was it a paranormal infection in their lives? The work of a satanic cult or white supremacist group? Murder-suicide?
Join us as we discuss what we know, what we don't know, and theories about the disappearance.

Laura Long was a young, vibrant girl that was murdered in her hometown. There were a lot of shady things that seem to have happened around the investigation of her murder...
Our Hope is that these older unsolved homicides will be solved with advancing DNA technology.

It is a dark part of our Nation's history... Boarding schools that housed children who were taken away from their families and forced into manual labor, forced to leave the life they knew behind, and forced to conform to something that was completely foreign to them.
We at YDFO recognize that we have had the luxury of being comfortable in our ignorance as to how Indigenous and POC's have been dehumanized and exploited throughout our nation's history. We have the opportunity to learn from the past so that it is not repeated.
Please read the report from the Dept. of The Interior on Indian Boarding Schools here: https://www.bia.gov/sites/default/files/dup/inline-files/bsi_investigative_report_may_2022_508.pdf

This week's episode is a tough one. It is every woman's worst nightmare... a stranger comes knocking at the door to a rural home, but he is not there to sell encyclopedias. Suddenly two women are put into an impossible situation that turns into tragedy.
If you're not into our gabbing about upcoming stuff, skip to about the 12 min mark to start the story... But we are really excited about the upcoming stuff and we'd love if you shared in the joy with us. We try to add some joy and happiness to otherwise really sad and depressing stories.
If you have an interesting hometown case that you would like to share with us, please email us at: urdoingfineok.pod@gmail.com or slide into our DM's on Instagram @ur_doing_fine_ok_pod or on Facebook at "You're Doing Fine Oklahoma: A True Crime Podcast". **This is episode 2 of 2. If you haven't listened to episode 1 yet, we encourage you to do so or you'll be really lost**
In part 2, the monster is finally revealed. He is a vile human being who has apparently never known the meaning of consent. He spent his life hurting women and girls, but it takes two law enforcement agencies working in tandem to expose him for the monster that he is. We are happy to say that this case has resolution, however, the families will never get their loved ones back and children were left without mothers.
During this episode we also go into the rape kit backlog, CODIS, and how all of these channels have to work together to assist in solving crimes. To donate funds to end the backlog, visit: http://endthebacklog.org. Keep fighting the good fight.
If you would like to submit a story to us to cover, please email us at: urdoingfineok.pod@gmail.com or slide into our DM's on Instagram @ur_doing_fine_ok_pod or Facebook: "You're Doing Fine Oklahoma: A True Crime Podcast".

The brutal murders of two women in neighboring towns in 1987 could not have been more similar... So why were police inclined to believe that they could not be connected? Was it poor evidence collection, a mistake at the time of crime scene processing, or just bad luck using 1987 technology? Jo Talley Cooper and Debra Stevens were both beautiful, vibrant women and mothers whose lives were cut far too short. Their murders would go unsolved for too long and cause their loved ones to wonder "What the hell happened?"
Join us as we walk through the details of the crime and how these cases went cold until new DNA technology helped to break the case. This is episode 1 of 2.

Great story. As a kid of the 70's we had to wait for our parents to inspect our candy before we could eat it. Also at some point the area hospital would offer to x-ray your candy bag for razor blades and needles. Lord help. I remember the larger pixy stix having a staple at one end where the label was attached. Lord help. Keep up the good work ladies. Love y'all
Tar creek flows into the Neosho River and the Neosho River flows into Grand Lake. So it contaminated other water
