India is, however, very supportive of transgenic plant research. It is highly likely that India will decide that the benefits of GM foods outweigh the risks because Indian agriculture will need to adopt drastic new measures to counteract the country's endemic poverty and feed its exploding population. Dr. Raina discusses a possible roadmap for this explosive, but important debate.
Dr. Samir Kumar Brahmachari is an Indian biophysicist and Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, part of the Department of Science and Technology, India.
A discussion on clinical trials in India and how doctors work to help patients and further science.
