Do you have dreams of long-term travel? What are you willing to "give up" in pursuit of it?   Today's guest is Becca Hall who shares how she gave up a high paying corporate job for a life of indefinite travel. This is another episode in my series called Transition To Travel where we speak to the guest right before they leave to start traveling and then again at least a year or more into the journey. Becca shares the psychology of why she pretended to not have any money, how she cut back to save up for this lifestyle of travel, what she would do differently if she could back in time, and tips and tricks for fellow solo female travelers out there. This is only a small amount of everything we get into today so grab your favorite beverage, relax, and enjoy my honest and very real chat with Becca Hall.   I love these labor of love episodes and I hope you do too!   What surprised you the most in Becca's journey? As a traveler what is the best thing you can do to have a richer and fuller experience and a closer connection with the countries you are visiting? Today's guest is Nate Menninger who traveled to Nepal and talked his way into working one of the world's toughest jobs, being a porter in the Himalayas & the subsequent film on his experience. This job is not for the weak and includes carrying crazy amounts of bags for trekkers and getting supplies to the small villages that are in need so the strength is both physical and mental. He is one of the first foreign-born people to take on this job and we get into the dynamics that this caused, how this relates to his overall travel experience and the surprising thing he did right after working with the porters in Nepal plus how he was able to learn the language enough to create meaningful conversations so quickly. What trip had the biggest impact on your life? What were the changes you felt after returning home? Thisbis EXACTLY what I didn't know I was looking for! I've been longing to travel for years and just couldn't ever justify that as a long-term lifen goal instead of a side hobby. This is helping me transition my life!

This is really want I needed right now. Just finished Uni, moved to a new city to get a good job. Feeling conflicted between the typical, get the job, get the house, the family life (which is usually considered successful, and what people work towards) versus actually feeling what might be right for me or just trying different things.

First comment, for a podcast like this - that's criminal! Absolutely AWESOME podcast! Even though I thoroughly enjoy listening to podcasts I've never been literally EXCITED to get stuck into one. With Zero To Travel, that I am. (I'm actually chinning off finding something on Netflix to watch before bed JUST to listen to this.) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 5 Stars ***** 🤙🏼
