Alstead’s most recent film, Running On Climate, focuses on Andrew Weaver, a scientist turned politician, as vies to become the Green Party’s first member in the British Columbia Legislative Assembly. With climate change and the environment at the forefront of the discussion, the film examines the way global issues reverberate at a local level. HURRICANE SEASON The E-mail from America is chasing #hurricanes. Well, not exactly – Zeff isn’t quite brave enough to go up in one those planes that fly into the storm but his guests are more than familiar with the effects of powerful storms. First up, author and Georgetown University professor Bernie Cook, who discusses his book Flood Of Images: Media, Memory, and #Hurricane Katrina, the definitive analysis of how news and documentary recall the infamous storm.
